10. After 20 years, I have started playing piano again.

9. I made Cherry jam for the first time last week! It's delicious. My favorite fruits are raspberries, cherries, and Macintosh apples, in that order.

8. I bought myself two birthday presents: a manual pencil sharpener (the type with a crank handle) and a pair of Dansko shoes.

7. I LOVE shopping on the internet, and Amazon in particular. I can't remember the last time I was in an actual brick and mortar store.

6. I went vegetarian last year. Bacon is a vegetable, right? OK, maybe I'm better termed a flexatarian.

5. My favorite color is black. Probably because it shows every. single. cat. hair.

6. I love my job. I operate the two water treatment plants in Las Vegas.

5. I detest cooking, although I can make a passable meal. I prefer to bake, preferably something that oozes chocolate. Lots and lots of chocolate.

4. I like being alone, and I like solitary activities. However, put me in a crowd of people and I'm gregarious.

3. I love to read. Words make me happy--I started reading somewhere before my third birthday and I haven't looked back. I really enjoy writing (for the Cats) on our blog.

2. I'm a homebody--I used to enjoy travelling but I lost the desire after moving to Vegas with sunshine 300+ days a year.

1. I love my feline family, warts, whizz and all.

A hundred squillion years ago our Daddy served in the US Navy on the Robert E Peary, FF-1073. He steamed all over the world; to the Phillipines, Australia, Africa and lots of other places, too. He made some good friends on the ship and guess what, now some of them have kitties too!

These kitties own their Daddy Lee and his family and they live in Whiskersconsin--and guess what--Lee is a Power Plant Operator, his job is a LOT like our Mommy's! Only our Mommy makes water while Lee makes electricity.

This pretty gray kitty is named Popcorn!

Or Poppy...here's the story behind her name:

One day the wife and BOY came home with a little gray Kitten. Seth (BOY-4th grade) had named it Popcorn. Why...Dad loves popcorn and if we name her Popcorn he will like her. Very logical.

We think that's a great way to get a name...Seth is a smart kid.

This is Chloe the Calico, she came along and joined the family about a year after Poppy.

As you can see, she's a snuggler!

Jak is the snowshoe Meezer.

Lee wrote: I'd always said I wanted a mutt Siamese or and Applehead Siamese...then Jak wandered in.

He sure has made himself at home!

Here is the beautiful yard they Patrol--we think Poppy, Chloe and Jak sure chose themselves some good peeps to oversee.

The New Toy!

Mommy made us a new lure for the All Time Favorite Toy (ATFT)!

(ATFT = dowel rod with a rawhide strip tied to one end. We have some extremely high-tech toys...)

We loved the red ribbon lure that was attached to the ATFT, but it was getting raggedy from our saber-toof attacks and razor-edged claws, and Mommy was worried about us swallowing ribbon pieces and tying up our innards in knots. And red yak.

She gave it some thought, and got a paper grocery bag, the paper cutter, and tape. She cut the bag into thin strips, folded them in half, and taped them by the fold. Rocket engineering, it was not!

Anyway, she threw the old red ribbon lure in the trash and tied the new one on to the ATFT.

Kitties, the paper ribbon lure is even better than the red ribbon one!

The rustly noise brings us running from every corner and bed in the house to play.

We can bite and chew it to our heart's content--and Mommy doesn't worry. Because paper goes Right Through.

It's roughage!

(But not quite as rough as cardboard, heh heh.)

Mommy made a second lure for us that isn't tied to the rawhide, it lives on the floor so we can kill it whenever the mood strikes.

Which is often!

Very funny, Mommy.

Fried-Day

About a week ago, Spitty sent us a sample of silvervine powder.

HOLY COD.

Spitty was not kidding how fantastically fabulously fun the 'vine is! This stuff is Da Chronic. Mommy barely got the envelope open before we were swarming her. Rupert actually abseiled up her leg (she had jeans on but she still screamed a little) to get to the envelope! We mauled the card and envelope for a week until they were ~~disgustingly chewed~~ wrung out of every last enticing, intoxicating molecule.

Mommy stored the powder in a tiny tupperware container, and she and Daddy have doled a little out every day. Bliss.

Mommy e-mailed Boomer's Mom, who is the "(wo)Man" for the 'vine connection, and asked for another little green bag to be sent...because we kitties deserve the best in feline psychotropics!

However, the post is slower than our consumption. Ain't that the way it always goes?

So for now, we are OUT!

Maui was jonesing today, so Daddy gave him the tupperware container to sniff.

Guess what?

There was enough stink left in the container for another good play session!

Maui got all googly-eyed...

...and then he got v-e-r-y relaxed.

Couch Lock!

Daddy tried to take the tiny tupperware away.

Unsuccessfully.

Eventually, though, he got his way...heh heh.

An Important Question.

Sylvester here...and I'm a wee tad hissed off.

Why?

I'll tell you why...

...Mommy was busy AND unfaithful to us today!

It's enough to drive a Cat to squint.

So today was Mommy's day off, and did she spend the day waiting on our every whim?

What do you think?

That would be a big fat NO, kitties!

Instead, she went to Albertson's (grocery store), Wal-Mart, the Post Office, Walgreen's, Fresh-n-Easy (another grocery store) and the Evil Vet's Office, where she PLAYED WITH KITTENS after she picked up Maui's Special Medicine.

Needless to say, she claims that she's tired and doesn't have time to put together a scintillating post for us.

Mommy = Lame

Although she did give our boxes a Super-Duper scooping today...maybe we should let her slide, just this once...what do you think?

ManCat Monday with Mommy

Tiny Johnson here, and I have a fun story to tell.

The other night, Mommy was almost asleep. Me and CC and Konakitty and Grayce and Rupert were all in bed with her, and I had shotgun by her pillow. The bed was full of purring happy sleepy kitties, and one pinned-in Mommy, who was getting hot. And thirsty.

A Re-enactment.

Mommy decided she needed a sip of water, so she slithered up and out the middle of the bed and toddled towards the kitchen.

Suddenly, the peaceful night was rent by terrible growls and howls!

The toddling sped up and a light went on--and Mommy saw Sylvester, with a bottlebrush tail and the rest of him poufed out to twice his size. Truly, she never imagined he could make his tail that HUGE. Apparently Henry (our Outdoor Boy) was staring in through the front windows and Sylvester took exception to this.

Mommy soothed Mister Angry Tux and coaxed him into his fleecy box bed on the coffee table, turned off the light, and finally got that drink of water. Quenched, she came back to bed, and patted all around on the covers to make sure she didn't squish anycat when she reinserted herself back into her designated six-inch wide slot.

Which had been pre-empted by ME! I was in the warm spot with my head on the pillow.
ha ha ha ha!

Well. Mommy was undeterred, she got into bed and pulled the covers over me! She snuggled me into her chest and told me that I was so nice to cuddle; that I hadn't done this since I was a wee kitten tot.

We've had a few questions in the comments that we want to answer, and so all y'all won't ~~whine~~ comment about "where's the kitties" we put in a bunch of random unrelated photos, too!

1. What do we consider cold?

Here in the Mojave desert it can get pretty cold, occasionally even below freezing at night. And it can snow, too! Our usual winter daytime temps range from 45-60F. Since our back yard faces SW we get nice warm afternoon sun, and it's not uncommon to hit 70 on the Catio, even in December when the days are short.

Mommy is a Western Wienie and complains the second the mercury dips below 85.

q. What does it say on the edge of our yellow skyway platform?

How many do you see?

&. What type of kibble do we recommend, and do we like natural foods?

Mommy recently bought us a bag of Taste of the Wild, and we like it very much. We love Blue Buffalo, and FELIDAE kibble as well. We get as grain-free (as possible) kibble. Mommy would prefer that we only ate wet food, but KonaKitty refuses to eat it, and since she is almost 15 Mommy caved in on the kibble issue. Wet food is better for our kidneys--we eat Friskies but we really like Tiki Cat and Weruva. We also get poached chicken, fish, and of course our duck and chicken jerky.

Kitties!

Daddy thought we needed a little "environmental enrichment" in his office.

The truth of the matter is that Maui, Felix and Sylvester STAMPEDE in there every morning (the doors are closed at night--the office is Off Limits for Whizz Wars) and spend the rest of the day squabbling over who gets to lie in which box, for how long, when, etc etc etc.

Not to mention the myriad "floaters" who wander in and out for pettings, attention, butt scratching, and any other whim that needs satisfying. They need places to sit, too.

It drives Daddy crazypants(ier).

So he slid one of the new Cat Trees in here, hoping that it might quell the Three Stooges' antics.

It HAS, but not immediately.

First we had to check everything out...you know how it is when something gets moved. Inspection is crucial!
Then we had to have all kinds of fun and games--and Daddy moved the tree a couple of times to see what configuration ~~would keep us out of his hair~~ we liked best.

Now even MORE snoopervising can take place.

The Evil Flap

We read on Tuesday that our wonderful pal CORY is in a real pickle of a situation. Her Mom and Dad put an Evil Cat Flap in the (big Human) door leading to the Ladies Room...and closed the door! What's worse, they put poor Cory in the loo, and made her figure out the Cat Flap instead of opening the door like nice peoples. Even worser is they laughed at her puzzling and puzzling over the mechanics of the Cat Flap.

Cory, in the spirit of solidarity and to avoid any further indignity--here's how it works.

1. Headbutt a corner. Either one is OK.

Hi Kitties! Mommy Trish here...when we lived in our old house back in Illinois we adopted a stray all-white blue-eyed deaf guy named Chuckles. Scott had built a big chest in the garage with a hinged top and a Cat Flap entrance from the foyer for the litter boxes. It was a fancy affair; it had an exhaust fan, LED lighting, and it was a four-holer, to boot! It was the only "facilities" in the house, so anybody new had to learn to master the Flap right away. I gave Chuck Flap Training on his first day--picked him up, and pushed his head through the hole, so he could see the toilets. Naturally he struggled a little bit and I had to regrip to complete the pass through. As Chuck SHOT through the Flap I felt something tug on my thumb. Like an idiot, I sniffed my thumb and all of a sudden I realized what I thought was a tug was actually a sphincter squeeze! Poor Chuck, here he is, the new guy in a new environment and some crazy lady violates his anus with her opposable thumb.

He never required a second lesson.

We supervised while Daddy cleaned up his desk before he started his latest project; he's going through his entire cassette tape inventory, from A to Z, to make sure that everything is correct in his eBay store.

We're always around, supervising.

You know how inept Humans are!

Occasionally we multitasked--here Salem is washing her toes AND directing Daddy.

She's an organizational powerhouse!

The Baby (aka "Grizzelda") kept one good eye on the proceedings, and said "meh" whenever necessary.

Which, as it turned out, was a lot.

The neat desk didn't last long...

Friday Frenzy!

One of my favorite things to do is gallop around the skyways like a madcat. I do this every day, several times a day. Mommy and Daddy will be in the house and they can hear the boards flexing and springing when I'm working off steam. It sounds like thunder!

Here's a sample:

Stretch first. You have to make sure your claws are sharp (for maximun gription) and your toes are limber.

Choose your route judiciously.

Make sure there's no impediments.

Start off with an easy trot, to get a feel for your frenzy.

Build up some speed.

Aim for the first obstacle to work out on.

Scratch the bejeebers out of it...

...then quickturnaround...and LEAP!

Run like the w-i-n-d!

Embrace your inner crazypants.

It's always a good idea to practice a quick stop. Just in case.

The second time, take your route at FULLSPEEDAHEAD!!!!

THUNDER down the track.

Be ready to change course at any moment.

LEAP!

Land...

...and make sure to stick the dismount.

Deep Dark Secrets...

The Baby here, and I have some fantastic dirt to dish!

I'm gonna need a little help though.

DADDY!

Get outside and take the pictures I need.

Daddy: Yes, Ma'am!

This is our front yard.

Daddy loves to garden and the past couple of weeks he's been working out here, transplanting bushes, resetting the stepping stones, and all kinds of heavy manly man stuff.

The big oval in between the palm trees is new.

Do you see the big urn-thingy in the middle?

You do?

Good.

Because it was FREE!

Mommy garbage-picked it.

That's right, Mommy AND Daddy are garbage pickers.

They slow down when they drive by "interesting" trash...you just never know if there might be something good in there! In fact, our old house was once furnished in the Late Twentieth-Century Castoff style.

But I digress.

Last Sunday Mommy was driving down our street and the urn-thingy was sitting in a pile of trash. She tromped on the brakes, jumped out, and assessed it...the urn was a score! But it was too heavy to load into the back of her car. Not a problem, she raced home to get Daddy--you never want to be "out-picked, you know"--and they zoomed back up the block to retrieve their prize.

And now, it's resting in our front yard.

Recycling at it's best.

Daddy bought himself a little present for Christmas.

He modified it by adding feathers...

...and proceeded to torture us with it!

Have we mentioned that Daddy is a mean mean man?

He's had radio-controlled cars before--in fact one was a Nerf model that shot darts.

You can guess who he was shooting at. Angel Kitty Max hated that thing.

Since the carpeting is gone Daddy can work up some speed with the Truck of Torment (ToT),

and chase us all the way across the room and into the next one.

There's more--theToT makes a Cod-awful noise.

It's the kind of sound you can't ignore, you just have to investigate it...

...and then you are so VERY sorry that you did.

Evidently, there's no limit to Daddy's perfidity.

Mommy's no better, either.

She thinks it's FUNNY, watching us scramble to evade the ToT.

Especially when it practically scares the fur pants off of us!

They better sleep with one eye open, tonight.

It's The Daddy, with a GREAT announcement concerning lost pets.

I was working last Saturday morning when the phone rang--I answered and got a computer generated message--and I almost hung up, thinking it was a telemarketer. But just as I was about to press END...I heard "PET AMBER ALERT...PET AMBER ALERT!" So I listened and found out a Border Collie Woofie named BRINKS was lost in our neighborhood!

(To our foreign readers, an "Amber Alert" is a PSA that goes out for missing children.)

The message was detailed and informative, told me ALL about BRINKS, and a number to call if he was found/seen. I wrote the number down and called to find out more about BRINKS, like what part of our neighborhood was he last seen? And guess what? When I called I got BRINKS’ dad on the phone, and BRINKS was already home! Somebody else had seen BRINKS after getting the same phone call and got him to come to them.

Apparently, PETAMBERALERT.COM is AWESOME. It's available in the US and Canada. BRINKS’ dad found the site, signed up, and it automatically faxed and emailed ALL the surrounding VETS and SHELTERS.

Then, if that wasn’t good enough--it calls EVERYBODY [like me] within a THREE MILE radius, BRINKS lived two miles away from us!

(BRINKS didn’t even live in our 'hood, thank Cod...we don’t need any woofies here, and you know what happens to strays that show up at our door.)

We are tired of waiting for Sandy Claws. It is TOO HARD to be Nice all the time.

The way we see the situation, since it's already Christmas on the other side of the world, Sandy Claws has already done checked his list, packed his sleigh, and is too busy delivering packages to reassess our behavior.

And we've already been good for, like, two whole days or something like that!

That's an eternity in Cat Time.

Our friend Steve is out of the rehab hospital, and HOME!

HURRAH!

In fact, last night he came over for a visit (yup, he's driving and everything) and to give us our Catmas present. Of course, Mommy and Daddy got gifts, too--but the REAL present was the ribbon on the packages! Mommy (in a fit of inspired frontal cortex activity) tied it onto the end of the All Time Favorite Toy (ATFT) for us to play with.

Sylvester is peeking out from behind our everso stylishly clad Mommy.

Holy Cod.

The ribbon flitters and flutters about, making a delightfully enticing ribbony rustling noise.

It drives us crazypants!

I'm not usually a big toy fan, but the Ribbon-Augmented ATFT is irresistible. Do you see how I'm flaring my tail base? I only do that when I'm super-duper excited. Worked up. Full of beans.

It REALLY got my motor running!

I chased it all over the Great Room, skidding and skitching into the turns...

...and when it flew over the ESS...

...I saw my chance!

I poufed my tail, bared my mighty fangs, and gave it the BITEY!

Kitties, I dedded that ribbon so good, it was too terrible to photograph.

Golly, I wonder what Steve will bring us next?

Thankful Thursday

Kitties!

One favorite thing we're thankful for is our fleece-lined box tops. The tops are from paper ream boxes, Mommy brings them home from work. They are supposed to be for Daddy's business because they hold four rows of cassette tapes perfectly--BUT--they hold one feline even better!

Daddy has several boxes in his office. You can see that they fit Cats of all sizes...Small(ish), Medium, and...

LARGE.

Thank Cod cardboard has some give to it.

Mommy sews the fleece liners to fit the tops, and she puts a folded towel underneath the fleece so our little Cat bodies are properly cushioned and coddled.

Daddy, who is the arty one around here, ordered the fun fabric off the innernets!

Some of the box tops have heaty pads in them, which is only right and fitting. Although the one by the sofa is an unheated location. Which is OK by Johnny--with such thick fur he gets too hot.

We occasionally reward Mommy and Daddy's efforts with a little Extreme Cuteness.

(Not to be confused with Everyday Cuteness.)

Extreme Cuteness is exhausting, so we don't do it too often. Also, it doesn't pay to spoil your Peeps.

Our Christmas Tree!

Sandy Claws must subcontract out with UPS, because look what the man in the brown shorts brought us:

A BOX!

But it wasn't just a box, there was stuff INSIDE it too!

Can you guess what it was?

How about now?

That's right, it was another Cat Tree!

We love the new tree we got a few weeks ago, there's a LOT less tension, spatting and spraying going on around the Lounge. Vertical real estate was exactly what we needed.

And you know how it is, kitties, if one of something is good, TWO is even better!

Speaking of good, we're pretty sure that whole "naughty or nice" thing is a scam perpetrated by humans to coerce "good" behavior out of us...do NOT be deceived! Because according to our Mommy we are Bad Horrible Cats and look, WE still got a present from Sandy Claws.

Daddy put our Catmas tree together in record time, he had lots of help...

...and then he scootled it into place over on the opposite side of the Great Room.

As you can see, Mommy (in a fairly inoffensive outfit, for once) was of no help whatsoever.

We took it for a test drive as soon as it was in place.

It's perfect!

I'm under the sofa, where it's quiet and dark, recovering.

Earlier I ~~overdid~~ sampled the Valerian Root just a teensy weensy little tiny bit.

The root was on the ESS, and I found it first! I gasped in surprise, usually Mister Maui Wowie is *Right There* when Daddy brings out our stash.

I didn't waste a moment digging in.

It was DEE-LISH-US!

Some of us just rub-n-roll on the root, but I prefer to eat it all up.

I was enjoying the moment so much, I ~~gobbled like a pig~~ forgot my manners and flung root all over--do you see the little speck in mid-air?

Pieces got stuck on my nose and my lips and my chin whiskers, too.

"Clean up on Aisle Elebenty!"

*thlurrrrrrrrrp*

I made the Special Face (you know the one) when I grimaced and inhaled the root's wondrously intoxicating stinky feet aroma.

After a while I needed to sit down...I had a sudden inexplicable urge to splay my toes and wash my tummy.

And then it all became too much and I had to rest.

Kitties, it was totally worth it!

I hope Daddy doles out some more valerian, soon.

ManCat Monday, the Blood Brothers Edition

I'm hanging out with my brother, CC. We are true brothers! Littermates and best buddies.

Uh oh, Daddy is getting a little close!

I'm safe up here...

...especially since Daddy is using the zoom lens.

I thoroughly approve of the zoom lens. Marvelous invention, if you ask me.

Now I'm in the rounder bed making biscuits...thousands and thousands of biscuits.

CC came up to see where I went to...

...and leaped over to check things out.

First he checked out the Purple Hut.

It was vacant!

We sleep together in the Purple Hut a LOT. Mommy put a great big puffy bed in there that fits two kitties Just Right.

Then CC looked over apartments C & D...

...and apartments A & B.

They were all empty, too!

We mostly sleep in them in the summertime, because it's cooler on this side of the Catio.

(Please note that I'm still kneading the dough!)

CC wanted to say hello.

He popped up just like a Whack-a-Mole!

I didn't whack him though. This time.

He decided he'd rather be in the tree...

...so another mighty leap...

...and voila!, a safe landing.

Then, we napped.

Life is Good with my brother.

We Are Ready (and Dressed) for Some FOOTBALL!

OK, we know that they are prolly gonna lose...after all, the quarterback Jay Cutler has a broken thumb and wide receiver Johnny Knox is out injured, too.

Still, we aren't fair weather fans--we root for our team no matter what!

Daddy got us this fan-bandana a couple of days ago and we've all been scrimmaging to wear it.

There's a ~~long-winded~~ funny story about how we got our Bears bandana...

Mommy and Daddy went out for Greek food. Now, the only good Greek restaurant by us is at the mall, believe it or not...and right next to the food court is a sports memorabilia store.

So naturally they went in to look!

The store didn't have anything either of them wanted, and nothing for US, either.

Understandably, we were NOT heartbroken by this turn of events.

Because something else was occupying our attention, we were almost OUT of kibble.

(Never mind that there were three cases of stinky goodness in the garage, running out on kibble is a Cational Emergency!)

Daddy rescued us from starvation by going to the pet food store.

He had totally forgotten about a bandana for us until he was in line and the guy ahead of him bought one for his *gasp* D-A-R-G...so of course then he remembered.

Some of us were less than impressed, heh heh.

The Red Dot!

The other day I was hanging out in the living room when all of a sudden Red Dot appeared!

Red Dot winds me up.

I charged...

...and overshot!

::cue sound of screeching brakes::

*sigh*

Sometimes I miss the carpeting.

Red Dot wiggled for a minute and took off again!

The chase was on!

Red Dot didn't stand a chance, I was so totally gonna get it. Just like last time.

I chased it into the kitchen and back...

...when CC strolled by.

Maui: Um, excuse me CC, I'm trying to kill Red Dot!

Dagnabbit, go around me!

One more time and we can dance...sheesh.

CC: OK, OK!!

I'll just get the heck outta here.

I don't trust Red Dot.

Not one tiny bit.

aaaiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Red Dot is TOUCHING my tummy!

CC cleared out in a hurry, leaving the playing field open.

But then, something REALLY CREEPY happened...

THIS appeared!

Kitties, that was the end of the game for me. I'm all for killing Red Dot, but I draw the line at Monsters.

Things to See on Thursday

We've had all kinds of excitement out on the Catio.

Daddy moved the Lotus cat tree outdoors for something "new" for us.

We like it!

He also moved the Hummerbird feeder up by the Catio.

As you can see, we like that too!

The Hummers come in about 5947384 times a day to fuel their evil little engines and wet their foul little whistles.

They are fearless!

Daddy can stand there all day, photographing them.

Mister Pidgee hangs around and The Baby talks to him a lot, trying to convince him of her ~~bad intent~~ hospitality

Nyah Nyah!

The Hummer took a break from torturing us and rested in the ~~Lime~~ Lemon tree.

Do you see him?

The lemons are ripe, they are BIG and juicy.

Not that WE would eat a lemon...

...but the lady wearing the baggy-bottomed pants does!

Mommy had never picked fruit off a tree before. You can see she really got into it.

She and Daddy picked a big bowlful of lemons, with more to come!

As you may have guessed, not all of us are as ~~certifiably crazypants~~ happy as Felix to model the Horrible Holiday Hat (HHH). This has not excused us from being subjected to wearing it; in fact, for some reason, our unwillingness to endure its strangling embrace amuses Mommy and Daddy immensely.

They were simply awful, braying and chortling with glee at us whilst we struggled to escape.

The only consolation was that Mommy had to go through hundreds of photos...here's a few:

Ornj Copper is my Modeling Moniker. All the Famous Cat Models have cool names; like Daisy or Skeezix.

Today I'm modeling the Jaunty Scarf and the Horrible Holiday Hat (HHH)...

at the same time! Do not attempt this at home.

Truthfully, I don't mind wearing stuff.

As long as I get to kill the Wax Paper, I don't care WHAT I've got on.

Plus, I know it'll get me blog time.

Easy on Sunday

Kitties!

A few of us are gonna hang out and watch football today.

We all have to get good seats. It's a good idea to stake out a spot early.

Salem is camped by the snax.

Sweet Pea is CATmoflaged on the cozy sherpa fleece binky.

Felix is unimpressed by the programming (what else is new), and CC is wondering where to sit...after he scarfs down the KFC chicken by the fountain! (Daddy went there to get us a treat--he's a pretty good dude.)

Maui likes to be close to the action, or at least the warm TV. He hops up here all the time.

And if it warms up a little (it was only 41F here yesterday morning!) by halftime, we'll join KonaKitty outside on the Catio for some fresh air and fun.

Saturday Scarf, or; Baby, it's COLD Outside!

We had some cold windy weather ROAR into town Thursday night.

But don't worry about us, we're prepared!

Daddy bought us a Jaunty Scarf to wear.

Maui: I think the Jaunty Scarf gives me a Collegiate Look. Hmmm, I wonder what school should I be attending? Any ideas?

Laydeez, please note my fine whisker rack...Mommy says my whiskers look like WALRUS whiskers! In fact, sometimes I get called "Koo Koo Ca Choo"--from that Beatles song.

I have only one question: What's a walrus?

OK, this garment has become offensive, please remove it.

Sylvester: I'm going for a Suave and Debonair Look, you know, something to go with my Tuxedo. Can you wear a Jaunty Scarf with a tux? I think so! Maybe I'll start a new trend. It's a well-known Fact that Tuxedo Cats are Trendy.

It's important to put my best paw forward...I have lots of LadyCats to impress and keep happy!

Mommy said it was OK to date more than one LadyCat, as long as I'm a GentlemanCat .

Which I am.

Ooh, I like to wear clothes! They show off my Fine Fizzeek. And aquamarine is purrfect with my Ornj furs. Not that I look bad in any color, mind you! Us Modeling Cats look good in everything.

I'm playing The Game with the All Time Favorite Toy (ATFT).

The Game requires Mommy on the other end of the ATFT. She's pretty good about playing with us every evening, all we have to do is let her know we're ready to go! Which we do by carousing around, causing "trouble" and by being "naughty". These terms are grossly inaccurate, but whatever.

Now that the carpet is gone The Game has gotten even better--I can run and slide, and make the Cube slide, too!

(Check out Mommy's outfit--another winner...*sigh*)

The ATFT is rather elaborate, consisting of some fezzant fevvers taped (LOTS of tape cuz it's fun to gnaw) onto the end of a dowel rod...

...with a rawhide shoelace tied onto the end. VERY complicated.

There's a knot on the end of the lace so we can get good gription.

(Sylvester loves this game too and he really likes the knot because his front claws are gone...)

I like to lurk on the cube and stalk the rawhide.

ATTACK!

Got it!

Of course as soon as we get a grip Mommy tugs on the ATFT.

This is what makes The Game so FUN!

You never know what that wily lace will do next.

The fevvers are unpredictable too.

Look at 'em here, molesting my pantaloons!

Hmph.

That was rather undignified.

But that's what happens when the ATFT appears!

It turns us into kittens all over again.

We have a miscellaneous mish-mash post of a whole lotta unrelated stuff, accompanied by some random photos, in no particular order. Our Mommy is famously disorganized, if we may say so...and we may.

The new Cat Tree is a HIT!

Daddy put heaty pads in the two huts for us, and we love napping in 'em.

After the initial whizzening we haven't felt the need to tinkle on it. In fact, the Whizz Wars seem to have *whispers* reached an armistice, thanks to Mommy and her biochemical weaponry--and Daddy's thorough house ~~sterilizing~~ cleaning.

Maui is leaping for joy because Mommy's friend Steve is doing great!

He's walking unassisted to therapy twice a day and thinks he'll be home by Catmas. It sure has been a long road, but since only 65% of people with his type and severity of peritonitis even survive, he's lucky to be here at all. And he knows it!

Daddy went to Sam's Club and got us this fabbo box!

The kitties at Mark's Mews asked us about what toys we like best on our Catio. We get the most use out of our shelves and skyways, since our favorite games involve chasing one another. The tube that Daddy made for us (out of sonotube) is a hit for chasing and ambushing; it's also a nice place to sleep. We enjoy all our cat trees, and the little blue one is good for sleeping, but it hasn't held up too well, honestly. If we had to choose one Favorite thing, it would be the ESS, paws down!

Mommy got this from a friend to try...we think the picture on the package was a teeny bit deceiving, but apparently it tasted just fine with peanut butter slathered all over it.

The ~~limes~~ lemons are ripe.

Mommy is wondering if any of your pawrents have ever dehydrated lemons...it appears that there's WELL over a hundred lemons on the tree!

Pucker up, Mommy.

Sylvester is *exactly* one cassette tape wide.
