Transportin' Tuesday

Kitties!

Sheebie here.

I did something incredibly fun and satisfying today...I drove 216 miles to help transport two Winnie's Wish kitties, Hershey and Frosting, to their new pawrents!
Frosting is the pretty calico, and the handsome long-haired chocolate is Hershey.
They were both excellent little passengers, with hardly a "mew" between them on my leg of the transport.

I was a few minutes early for the final handoff, so I lumbered crawled over the console into the back of my SUV to have a few minutes of lovin' and a nice stretch.

Frosting is fearless and gave me dribbly head bumps, and made biscuits in my lap.

Hershey was a little more hesitant, but when he finally came out of the carrier I picked him up, gave him kissies, and his motor was thrumming on HI.

Look at that tail!  It'll need it's own ZIP code soon...

They both got a few kibbles and I loaded them back in their carriers...

...because it was time to meet their Forever Daddy!

And Mommy!

Bon Voyage, sweeties!
You are gonna love your new life.

Whoever says that miracles never happen is dead wrong.  It took two months and a couple of false starts but these kitties got half-way across the country to where they belong because of people who refused to give up.
Rats, I'm getting all teary...

Happy Tuesday!

  14. What a wonderful thing you did, driving that leg of the journey. But even better, you got to be the one to do the final leg, so you met their forever family. We are so happy that they are now in a good forever home who wanted them enough to wait for two months halfway across the country for them.

  28. WOO HOO!!!!! Meowm says it is a wonderful feeling to help with transports! She was supposed to do one this coming weekend, but the box on wheels has to have some work done on it. she is bummed and concerned that the kitties won't be able to go this weekend because no one has stepped up and taken the legs she had volunteered for.

Anyway, so glad the transport went well and that these sweet babies have found their furever home!!!!!!!

  46. Great work, and what beautiful cats!

My cat Zoê (RIP) cam from Washington state to Toronto via volunteers! She went from WA to Montana to Calgary, then went as carry-on from Calgary to Toronto, carried by the boss of a woman who did volunteer work with elderly canines and agreed to bring Zoê to Toronto. I really loved that cat!
