Meep!
Kona Kitty here. I'm the oldest Kat here in the lounge. Mommy heard me screaming one cool evening in October,1997...and I didn't appear out from underneath the shed until the next afternoon! I was a tiny feral kitten. Mommy has a good idea of who my papa and mama were; mama was a local feral and papa was Mommy & Daddy's barn cat having a last fling before his big snip. I'll have to show you pictures of them sometime...papa was a big hunter and caught RATS! His name was Spooky.
I'm pretty laid back and shy but I do like the feather toy, string, and of course all the nip I can eat. Last week Daddy trimmed my mane! It was getting matted because right now I'm shedding because I grow a thick double coat in the wintertime, even though we live in the desert. And last night Mommy clipped my claws! Torture. I said "meep Meep MEEP!! That's another one of my names, The Meepster.
Me and my sisfur The Baby are the last of five cats mommy and Daddy brought out with them from Illinois. I "got" to ride in the car (MEEP!) for three days. Not fun. But better than what happened to The Baby! But I'll let her tell THAT story.
Me and Felix share the big bed most of the time. We don't snuggle but that's OK, we're both pretty independant, not like some others I could mention! *meep* At night I get under the covers and help Mommy fall asleep.
Wow! I had a lot to say! Til next time--xx Kona Kitty
Hi Kona, it's lovely to meet you! You're a gorgeous mature ladycat--our human would like to bury her face in your thick fur! :-)
ReplyDeleteHello Kona,

By the way, I am hosting a PERSONALIZED PET PORTRAIT GIVEAWAY on my blog and I would love you to enter your name in the contest because you could win a pretty garden sign or door sign so everyone in town could see your beautiful mane! xoxo-april & daisy-

Hi Kona it is great to meet you! We love that you say meep a lot - we can imagine it being very cute - our brother Virgil makes a chirpy beepy noise a lot of the time. We live in Illinois and we hate to be in the car so we think we will be here for a long time - we don't even want to imagine what three days in the car was like!
ReplyDeleteHi, Kona Kitty, what a gorgeous girl you are, we love those beautiful fluffy furs!!...Kona is a cool name and we noticed you have a sibling named Maui, so we thought your parents must love Hawaii like our Mommy!...We look forward to meeting all your siblings...Happy Monday...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki

ReplyDeleteKona, it's so great to meet you, pretty girl! You have very beautiful furs!!
ReplyDeleteMom thinks you're a Coon or a Norwegian Forest (she sometimes has a hard time telling the difference). Either way your mom is very lucky to have found such a special kitty that's just so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi Lynx217 - Yes, we also have identified her as either a Coon or Norwegian forest cat, but honestly we don't think she is truly either. As we know the father (Black Long Hair) & the feral mother was a Short Hair Gray Tabby. We lived in a wooded area on the Fox River near Elgin, Illinois and I think Kona got separated from her Mom & bros / sisters one night on a food run. She was tiny! The other kittens, which we subsequently saw often, favored the mother and were short haired and rather large Tabbies. If you smell her ruff it smells like Kona Coffee!
ReplyDeleteHi Kona, it's great to meet you. Felix visited us and we were coming to see who you all were, and then we read about Felix at the Creek Cats.
