Kitties!
Felix here.
So there I was, out on the Catio, above the new bookcase climber-bed thingy, when I heard a strange noise.
I went to investigate!
Hmmmmmm...
nothing in this box...and Maui's in the next one down.
I needed to go lower.
And dig in the bedding a little.
A-HA!
A snack!
Hello, Mister Grass Hopper!
You're here rather late in the year.
Mommy is pretty lucky I found Mister Hopper, and then Daddy found me finding him.
Mommy isn't afraid of much, but Hoppers FREAK her out!
Especially Ginormous HUGE Hoppers.
Daddy put my Snack Guest back in the yard, and I put on my crankypants.
Bub-Bye, Mister Hopper. You got lucky this time.
Next time I'll eat you before Daddy spots you.
Happy Thursday!
XX Felix
You probably gotta be fast then, huh?
ReplyDeleteNo fair!! It was YOUR hopper!!
ReplyDeleteThat IS a big grasshopper. We had very few this year, maybe because we had our coldest Summer in 40 years. They look fun to chase but not that delicious to eat.
ReplyDeleteThat's a honking huge hopper! That could feed your whole family!
ReplyDeleteWow. That hopper was HUGE! What size are the spiders there ? And it is totally unfair it was taken away from you. Your expression is priceless.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to the rule of finders keepers?
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing is that The Big Thing thought of taking the old bookcase in the house an makin holes init fer us ta climb up through. But he dint, an yer Dad did.
ReplyDeleteYou got a great Dad!
Felix, you have been GYPPED! That was a huge meal of crunchy green tastiness and your male human STOLE it from you! Next time, maybe you should eat your greens in private.
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to be faster next time Felix. Didn't your mum want you to eat your greens? They are very healthy you know.
ReplyDeleteFelix, I would put on my crankypants too if my mom or dad STOLED my special snack!
ReplyDeleteOH Gosh, a Grass Hooper! Incredible!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job there!ConcATulations! :)
purrs and love
Luna - WE LOVE LUNA
Awwww Felix!! You look so magnificent in your crankypants!!! What a fine fellow you are!! And well done you for investigating - you are very brave and such a super duper hero!! Me and Charlie hope your ladykitty love, the delectable Ms Annie is impressed!!
ReplyDeleteAwww yay for Daddy for taking Mr Hopper outside alive and well!!! :-) But boy oh boy that is one HUGE grasshopper!!!!
Take care
x
Doesn't seem fair you didn't get to enjoy the fruits(?) of your hard labor....
ReplyDeleteAnnie's all a-flutter at your brave mancatliness, Felix. She can't believe your dad stole your snack and set it free, though. She's going to put on her crankypants in solidarity.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, he mom, who rather likes grasshoppers, is FREAKING OUT at the size of that one!
Felix I'm with mom....I cannot stand the hoppers you just never know where they will land and if I see them then they disappear you might find me on top of something I should not be on top of...
ReplyDeleteI'd rather have a bear chasing me than a spider or hopper. At least I can see the bear. LOL
Hugs Madi's Mom
Oh Felix, we don't blame you for putting on your cranky pants. We would be extremely cranky too. That was one gigantic grasshopper. That would have been lunch and dinner. Take care and have a better day.
ReplyDeleteLive and learn, Felix, live and learn.
ReplyDelete:) Dunno, Felix...I love playing with hoppers too...I tried to eat one once...it made me gag! Sorry your folks took yours away tho.
ReplyDelete-Pip
Felix,
ReplyDeleteWe meant to add that your mom had the winning bid on the silk scarf, item #8 in Derry's auction.
Once she's paid via PayPal on the auction page, our mom will send an email to the donor so the scarf can be shipped. Just like last time...except we're not the donors. LOL. Thanks so much to your mom!
You can eat a really big one? Wouldn't that be super dooper crunchy??
ReplyDeleteTalk about slavering beasts!!! WOW that's a huge hopper! We've got teeny little ones maybe about an inch long around here. Tell your dad he can borrow our dad's hockey stick if he ever needs it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer that you didn't get it for a snack, Felix.....maybe he'll show up again when your daddy is napping so you can get him!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletexxxxxxxxx
Your dad is a meanie - Mr Grasshopper could have given you lots of luscious snacks. Better luck if he shows up again.
ReplyDeleteGrasshoppers have lots of protein in em! :) Once in a while I try to catch em during the summer, but they're lightening quick. It's a special treat when I get one! :)
ReplyDeleteThat was a HUGE hopper - but we are glad your daddy saved him! LOVE the bookcase/cat shelving. What an AWESOME idea.
ReplyDeleteThat is a shame Felixl. He looked very crunchy.
ReplyDeleteOh what a shame they saw you. I would have loved to have found that to play with and would have loved even more to hear him go crunch.. Never mind better luck next time.. Hugs GJ x
ReplyDeleteFelix you look just plain disgusted that your dad took away your snack! He's no fun... I have a feeling another one will come along soon -- keep your eyes peeled!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Mr GrassHopper is awesome. And can we see yoor cranky-pants? Wot colour are they?
ReplyDeleteWow!! You are amazing that you were able to find Mr.Grasshopper waaaaay down there! You really went on a hunt!
ReplyDeleteYou did deserve your "prize" though...
I am like your Mom...I would have been HUGELY freaked out!
Oh well, easy come, easy go...just relax and have a NipHopper instead!
ReplyDeleteFelix, having your snack taken away would make any cat cranky. Now we understand - you're abused and mistreated. We'll have our mom write to the feline rights group in Nevada.
ReplyDeleteThat's too bad about them taking your hopper outside. He could have been a snack for several kitties!
ReplyDeleteDRATS!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat hoppy guy looked like super good fun.
All ruined by dad -- and a squirming mom doesn't help.
bonks for better luck next time
Holy Smokes!!! That is a ginormous hopper! Meowm says she never saw one that big when she lived in Sin City. (She did however hate the cicadas). We are sorry you didn't at least get to nibble on him.
ReplyDeleteFelix
ReplyDeleteYour Mom isn't the only Mom freaked out by HUGE hoppers. *ewwwww* is what my Mom did when she saw the big picture...and I went *noms* I am sorry your Dad did not let you get to enjoy your treat!
*kiss kiss to my sweet Sylvester*
Gracie
Gee how mean, huh? That was YOUR hopper. We like those too, but I tend to throw them into the garden and then Au and Target give me that same look you have!
ReplyDeleteListen we're all excited because our romance novel Blackmail Bride is out! It's in Kindle, B&N and Sony ebook format as well as PDF. Check out the blurb and first chapter at our blog http://tinyurl.com/378kwb2. 10% goes to Friends Furry Farm, a no kill animal sanctuary. Tell all your friends please?
Felix, I'd put my cranky pants on too if my snack I found was whisked away from me! NO FAIR! I'm willing to call the Cat Snack Authorities on him if you need me to. Well, wait, maybe no. After all, he's Rupert's daddy and I need to respect that. Tell you what. Keep your cranky pants on for the evening and then, all should be forgiven.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! They grow those hoppers big out in the desert, don't they?? We don't blame you for putting on your crankypants...how unfair that your daddy took your new "toy" away!!
ReplyDeleteTime for grasshopper fudge!
ReplyDeleteThat may be the largest grasshopper I've ever seen!!! Snack? A meal I think :-)
ReplyDeletePoor Felix! That was some catch buddy! What a whopPURR of a hopPURR! But what's a hunter to do when Daddy takes his prey away? I hope they at least gave you some treats instead.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Johnny's on the LOLSpot today.
Wow that was a huge grasshopper you found.
ReplyDeleteI know how terrible it is to have your family steal your prey away from you. I found and killed a mousie once and Pellie wouldn't let me bring it into the house.
Purrs,
Genghis
Whoa, that is a HUGE hopper!! I bet he would've made a tasty snack.
ReplyDeleteThat is one HUGE hopper! I'm kinda glad your Dad found him before you made him a snack coz I like hoppers very much. :)
ReplyDeleteOMC! We wanna have a guest like that too!!!
ReplyDelete--JB
Wow! That hopper is about twice the size of the ones we get.
