Kitties!
Sweet Pea here.
Look what I caught last night!
A Kadiddle Hopper!
He was tasty AND fun...he squirmed ever so delightfully betwixt my slavering jaws.
When I was done with Sir Kadiddle I ferried him out to the Catio for General Amusement purposes...
...and hopped up on the blue spool to enjoy the show.
Maui wasted no time to sample Mister Hopper's Crunchy goodness.
Mommy was all "Eeeeewwwww, GROSS!!!" during the chewing parts, but she kept on shooting.
Mommy is a real trouper.
Maui moved the Kadiddle over to the other carpet for further fun and games.
He showed Scouty how to play.
Scouty gave Mister Hopper a left hook...
...followed by a right cross!
After that, Mister Kadiddle Hopper was, erm, "done".
Then Maui ate Mister Hopper, and he didn't foam!
He must have a cast-iron stomach to go along with his crazypants.
What a fun evening.
We all slept like logs after the excitement.
Happy Tuesday!
XX Sweet Pea XX
Those are Kozmo's favorites! he says they are really tasty. Me would never eat one!

Wow, none of the cat kids here have ever caught a grasshopper. I bet they would like that ... but Mom would probably take it away like the lizards they catch.
ReplyDeleteI am SO envious! If my human ever caught me with one of those, she would make me let go of it and then she'd put it outside so I couldn't kill it! My human is so mean!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Human coverred her eyes and put her fingers in her ears and went la-la-la-la-la-la while I read this post and laffed and laffed. Mmmmmm, crunchy bugs!
ReplyDeleteThat's what we do fur fun here in OK! We haf so many hoppers, mom just gave in and let's us do what we will! Purrs.
ReplyDeleteWe are so so so jealous. That looks wonderful and we never get anything like that here. The photo with Sweet Pea grinning from ear to ear is just sheer bliss.
ReplyDeleteÄiti wants to know if the grasshopper juices affect feline poop. She's just too nosey.
We've never seen a kaddilehopper before but it looks like fun! We liked Scouty's boxing moves too!
ReplyDeletePoor guy never had a chance.
ReplyDeleteLOL - never a dull moment at your house!
ReplyDeleteWow! What fun you have at the catio. To Mr Kadiddle Hopper, you did a great service to felinedom. You didn't perish in vain. Rest in Peace, sir! purrr...meow!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, awesome catch! I bet it was lots of fun to play with (and chomp).
ReplyDeleteone summer, we had too few bugs, and poor Willow had none to hunt. So I bought her a few crickets from the pet store. I felt terrible doing so, but she loved them so!
ReplyDeletethe kitties here are impressed and jealous!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a HUGE hopper. We get teeny tiny ones here. We wonder whether Maui will start hopping about today after nomming on the hopper :)xx
ReplyDeleteYou are an pawsome hunter! George aka Capt. Cat-tastic
ReplyDeleteWell if we HAD to go, we'd like a big important wake like you gave that hopper :-)
ReplyDeleteEntertainment with food! Wow!
ReplyDeletePurrs,
The Chans
Dinner and a show, how about that? Looks like the kittehs had much fun.
ReplyDeleteBet that grasshopper didn't realise he was top of the bill and menu both at the same time !
ReplyDeleteWow! that's an impressive catch there Sweet Pea! Love this hoppy critter! We kitties want to join in the fun :)
ReplyDeleteOMC! What fun for all of you. Mom would have been Ewwww with the crunching too.
ReplyDeleteTell your Mom ours says Thanks very much for sending the cross stitch from the auction. It is going to be a challenging one, but really pretty if she can complete it.

What tasty fun!! LOL!!! Awwww Sweet Pea!! You look so cute in the first pic!! Take care

Sweet Pea looks mighty pleased with herself and rightfully so! And it's so nice of her to share with her siblings.
ReplyDeleteI has never seen a hopper. M said she hasn't seen any for quite a few years. Now she's wondering why we don't have any anymore! What happened to them?
ReplyDeleteYOUR mom wouldn't scream and toss away a bag with a vibrating, buzzing "dead" bird, we bet. YOUR mom rocks!
ReplyDeleteDoes grasshopper taste like chicken? Or maybe like moths? We've never had a grasshopper.
Your visitor is very nice to play with you all!
ReplyDeleteI think I would like to chase a grasshopper but not try to eat him! :)
purrs and love
Luna
h what fun, that looks better than a big spider and I bet the crunch was fabulous. I would love the chance too catch and play with one of those. Hugs GJ xx

ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to eat breakfast BEFORE I get on the puter. Your evenings are as exciting as mine, I see. You always make me laugh. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x4 and a few more.
ReplyDeleteThey are good raw, aren't they, kittehs. Next time you could try them fried and finished in a dark chocolate glaze. Food for thought.
ReplyDeleteok, just ewwwwwwww
ReplyDeleteMom said, "Ewwwwwww," but we think that bug looked pretty tasty. Small spiders and crickets are delish too! We highly recommend them.
ReplyDeleteWas Mr Hopper tasty Maui?
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
We love it how you all gather around like you do when things appear on the catio.
ReplyDeleteGreat hunting Sweet Pea, and your generosity knows no bounds.
Ewww. I don't have the stomach you do for this. Anytime a creepy crawly gets in the house, I get all squealy and immediately dispatch said crawly before the boys can devour him. Then they spend the next 20 minutes looking at me with sad eyes because I killed their new best friend. LOL
ReplyDeleteThat first photo of Baby is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteBeing a vegetarian goat I cannot get excited about this....I am sure the Farm cats would enjoy it though.
ReplyDeleteSweet Pea you are very thoughtful to share your spoils .Poor Mr.K didn't have a hop/hope in hell with all of you on the alert...
ReplyDeleteCrunch. Crunch. Swallow.
the critters in The Cottage xo
Well done Sweet Pea, but why didn't you eat it yourself. I love a nice crunchy grasshoper and I would gladly share mine with you.

Yum! We agree that spiders and crickets are great, too, but we don't eat the spikey legs on crickets!
ReplyDeleteOh Sweetpea, I love the look on your face in that first picture... it says it all really MOL!!!
ReplyDeleteOh gross! Sally brings them inside from the Catio, and we just chase them around. Sometimes, they lose a leg or two...
ReplyDeleteWe received Maw's sweater and she lufs it!!! It is so purrtyyy!
Luf, Us and Maw
I love to share in the joy of my cats but hate the killing of anything... its torture (but life). Love Darcy and Bingley xx (and a sensitive Mrs H) xx
ReplyDeleteHai there! When you are back in blogland please take a peek at my blog, there is an award waiting for you there tomorrow! =^..^=
ReplyDeleteOut uncle, Tinker, RIP, was an excellent bug catcher and loved grasshoppers. He's catch them and eat them so fast it's a wonder he tasted them.
ReplyDeleteAre the wings or the drumsticks the best part?
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness ~ that was a lot of excitement for one night! And a little extra protein never hurt anyone. ;)
ReplyDeletexo Catherine
YoW! I ate one of those once and it made me yak! uggh! never again! They are fun to bring in the house to play with and leave under the couch for mom to find several days later ;-/

Our mom is totally grossed out from reading this...she just doesn't appreciate fine cuisine.
ReplyDeleteWow, this beats catnip toys any day!
ReplyDeleteOh, what fun you all had! Good job Sweet Pea. Hugs and nose kisses
ReplyDeleteMr Kaddihopper sure looked tasty.
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Genghis
Hey next time you catch one, can you invite us over? We've never enjoyed this dish...and think we might love the crunchiness! Do you think it would taste good with some melted cheddar on top?
ReplyDeletexoxo Cory
JEALOUS!!! I'm lucky if I get a stupid little fly to kill...
ReplyDeleteOh wow! We get those kadiddles on the deck door screen, but they is allus on the OUTSIDE so we cant bite them or bring them INSIDE!
ReplyDeleteThat seems like rousing kitty fun!
