Kitties!
Salem here.
October 2 is LIVESTRONG Day, when we honor those who have fought the Evil Cancer Monster.
Mommy has lost both friends and family to Cancer.
Kitties, make sure your Humans do all they can to stay healthy, so they can take care of us!
1. Make (and KEEP) appointments for cancer screening: mammograms, colonoscopies, skin inspection, prostate exams, etc.
This saved our Grandpaw's life.
2. Quit all tobacco products.
Cigarettes killed Mommy's Grandpa.
3. Maintain a healthy weight and eat a good diet full of fruits and vegetables.
This is what we hope will keep Mommy and Daddy around a long time.
4. Maintain a positive attitude, laugh, and enjoy life.
This is where we Cats can help!
We CAN lick this Evil Disease!
Happy Sunday!

What a beautiful Live Strong post, Salem!
ReplyDeleteA lovely tribute and many good suggestions. We would add--get enough rest. No one rests enough in the US and this is important to maintain the energetic balance to keep your body healthy. And drink plenty of fluids, eat good fats and make sure you have enough vitamin D.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the words of wisdom today - I hope all humans take heed!
ReplyDeleteSalem, you look so pretty with those yellow flowers (daffodils or lilies?). This is such a good reminder. We gotta keep our humans healthy!
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Lucy
Such very good suggestions, and I like what Cheysuli said as well. Salem, you are so striking with those yellow Calla Lilies!
ReplyDeleteWe are sorry for the losses in your family.
Oh, what beautiful pictures of you among the yellow flowers sweet Salem. Very good reminders and advice you have given us. Great post. Hugs and nose kisses
ReplyDeleteSalem Darling, This is a wonderful post and message, but honestly, all I can really pay attention to is your delishus pink tongue! Soooooo wonderfully distracting!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures and great advice.
ReplyDeleteBut PLEASE KEEP AWAY FROM THE LILIES - they are toxic to us cats.
You guys are really sensible we are sure but maybe others aren't - cats and lilies NEVER MIX. They can kill us. Äiti has pulled them all up from her garden even though we never really get to go outside the catio.
Beautiful post. LIVESTRONG purrs to everybuddy.
ReplyDeletepawhugs, Max

ReplyDeleteCIgarettes killed both my parents before they reached retirement age. :( (one lung cancer, one heart disease). Three of my grandparents also died of lung cancer and smoking related-illnesses. Follow Salem's advice!
