Kitties!
Our good friend Fin, from Housecat Confidential has been banished from the kitchen counters.
This is Wrong!
Fin wanted a ladder, so we offered to come up with a design...and here it is!
Fin's Parent-Defying Counter Ladder
LEGEND:
A. Berber carpet platform, Fin's color choice
B. Sisal-wound rungs, for traction
C. Locking weight-activated caster wheels
D. Sturdy lightweight frame
E. Reinforcing cross-members
We intend for the ladder to be invisible to Humans (working on this aspect), manuverable, and lightweight enough to easily headbutt around the house.
Fin requested that the ladder be one Cat wide and three Cats tall. We are still a little perplexed as to how wide one cat is...do you count the floof in the calculations?
This is just a rough drawing (Thanks, Mommy). We welcome any suggestions!

"Hmmm, maybe he means a cat wide meaning that he wants it to be as wide as a cat is long from nose to where your tail starts. You know, the way you measure for a carnival ride. 'Cus you can always flip your tail up or fold it around you so it's length doesn't matter. Does that make sense? Otherwise, I vote for without the floof and Mister Kitten. That would be safest. He weighs 15.5 pounds. I know. Momma said so this morning!" - Zaphy
ReplyDeleteWhy is our human paying the handyman $$$ to do our fence when your mom could have come and done it? ;-)
ReplyDeleteIngenious ladder! Patent-pending!
Wow that's cool! When you get the invisible part figured out could you make us a golf cart? So's we could zoom around the house??
ReplyDeleteI think it needs a catnip holder...other than that, it's purrfect!
ReplyDeleteOh me and Charlie simply CANNOT beat this wondrous equipment of amazingness!!! It is absolutley brilliant and we are even more in AWE!! at the awesomeness of the Lounge Kats Techno Team!! Awesome is the word!!!
ReplyDeleteWe hope you get the prototype up and running soon! GOOD LUCK!!
Take care

That is a great design. We think the one cat wide should be from the end of one whisker tip to the other. We aren't sure about three cats high. Maybe you should measure three cats standing on top of each other.
ReplyDeleteIt is a masterpiece of design, style and function!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo... what a design... your mommy is a genius!!!!

Have you contacted the patent office? You should register that design!
ReplyDeleteOur suggestion is that you come over here and build us one! :)
ReplyDeletePawsome design! Can't wait for the finished product. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my cats how in the world do you keep a living breathing cat off a kitchen counter? I'm astounded one can do that. MOL!!!
ReplyDeleteIn any case we love the design you came up with.
Madi and Mom
this is amazing! when you gets it finished, let me know, cause me and BA will want to order one too!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe think there should be a treat holder in case Fin feels peckish while clambering up the steps.
ReplyDeleteThis look like a very solid design to us. If you gets the invisibilty thing worked out- we would like to order a dozen! Imagine just leaving them in the middle of the hall. *gigglesnort*
ReplyDeleteMEOWZA!!!!!!!! Can we put in an order for one also???????? xxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteWe loves the ladder, we would like to put an order in for one. Our choice of carpet color is blue. Great design guys.
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! That is furry impressive! We would like to put in an order too please. Since there's three of us girls, and just King and the only boy, we choose our color as hot pink!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting...how much green papers are early investors expected to earn??
ReplyDeleteOh my you at this wonderful Katnip Lounge are going to be so busy building these ladders for everyone. That is one great design of a ladder and we all need one. Just think how many of us could get up on the counters. We know Fin is going to be so excited to have this wonderful structure. Especially since it is invisable. The one cat wide part might be kind of hard so maybe a little over one cat wide just to be sure. We like the suggestion of some treats half way up in case Fin gets a little weak.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, this all makes our Mom smile a lot.
If you can cinch the invisible aspect somehow, you could go into business elling these to all the kitties. great design!
ReplyDeleteI just know you can get the invisible part done and heaven forbid there not be a treat cup. As Hanna and Lucy said...there may be times when Fin feels a mite peckish on his way up the stairs..so, something needs to be there to alleviate that.
ReplyDeleteAll us kitties want one and we are your first buyers..remember..before you sell out.
That is a great invention!!!!! Good luck on the invisibility!
ReplyDeleteMeowm is going to try Natural Balance for my hypo-allergenic food. Apparently this brand has some that are not hypo-allergenic, so if you try some, make sure it is hypo-allergenic. Have I said hypo-allergenic enough yet? The v-e-t says that Petco has this food, but we have a little locally owned bakery that will give us some free samples to start with. That is very nice of them....that way Meowm doesn't spend half her paycheck on food that I won't eat. ( I have to try this stuff cause my tummy is weird. Sometimes I have really stinky poops, and sometimes I don't. Also the consistency of my poops varies.) Good luck!~~Orion
Wow! You guys are really good! Who knew that the Katnip Lounge was actually a Think Tank?
ReplyDeleteTerrific and ingenious design!
ReplyDeleteOnce you figure out the invisible part, we suggest you patent that idea, cuz I can think of a lot of things we might want to turn invisible!

I'm amazed at your ingenuity (and Mom's drawing skills!). I would count the floof into the width (no cat likes to get her fur matted down) and whisker to whisker seems excellent.
ReplyDeleteA treat cup midway up is great! Oh I'm so excited! You kitties have real skills!
That is one awesome ladder design!! We bet you could sell lots of those on the innernets...
ReplyDeleteHmm... We need to harness the power of the chameleon to camouflage the ladder from the humans - we'll work on that! Excellent design!!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy day!
~Nico, Simon & JayJay :)
Brilliant! Do you plan to go into mass production? (warning, some of us are kind of wide!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and saying happy birthday to the girls. I've been by here before but didn't leave a comment...I'm SO bad at visiting and commenting regularly. Love your blog though and will definitely be back soon. That catio is amazing! What lucky cats.
ReplyDeleteWe love you techno team! It is so nice of you to come up with something so wonderful for beautiful Fin!
ReplyDeleteI think floof could be counted in the width so there's enough room to get through without touching the sides?

I still can't understand why AnyCat would be banished from the counters?
