Kitties!
Salem here.
We had some really windy cold weather a few days ago, so Daddy moved Henry's Hut from the North side of the house to the Patio where it would be more protected. He's quite brave now and we all knew he wouldn't be afraid to come this close.
Henry gets stinky goodness and kibbles every night, and in the afternoon Daddy checks Henry's dishes.
If there's only a few kibbles left Daddy scatters them on the Patio, and BIRDIES come in to eat them!
CC and Felix are waiting for the Birdies.
(Henry's Hut is the wood box on the patio, the cover is off.)
The BIRDIES!
Sometimes nine or ten of them line up, waiting for kibbles.
Fluttering Feathered Feasts.
Mommy loves the irony of Birdies eating Cat Food.
We love the possibility of Cats eating a Birdy!
They come soooooo close, we have to be purrfectly still.
Sylvester went into the Sky Lounge after hearing Birdy feets on the Catio roof.
CC was waiting to catch another Dove.
The last one he snagged he brought inside, alive...and...he LET IT GO!
Mommy was shouting with glee, shooing the Dove outdoors before he flew around and pooped all over inside the house.
Good Times.
The Birdies walk on the stepping stones along the length of the Catio.
Here's enough for a CATserole!
They come right up to the wire walls and tease us.
We're patient, though.
Those dirty Birds don't win all the time.
Just ask Mommy.
Happy Thursday!

Fantastic - we know you are planning your attack all the time you pretend to be happily giving your food to the birdies. Is there a chorus of salivation and little chirrups from you as they get closer ? And what about Henry - can he be involved in the plan ? Wethinks that it is possible to drag birdies under the catio bars and then have them fly freely for as long as you want inside. Hehehehe.
ReplyDeleteLets see here. The birdies eat cat food. An if you catch one, then you can eat CAT FOOD!!! Thats a good return on a few kibbles...
ReplyDeleteI think it would be way cool to catch one of those birdies!
ReplyDeleteBirds eat the cat food, cats eat the birds...yep, sounds like the circle of life to me!
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
ReplyDeleteOh boy that is some sight and we are surprised to see so many doves and not being fearful of all the cats. Just looking at all the felines you can sense they want to get at it and see how much terror they can create.
Warmest regards,
MIss Kitty and Egmont
mmm...pigeon pie! ::drools:: You cats have a great bird tv channel. Good luck to CC for catching another one!
ReplyDeletePip, Smidgen, minnie, and Hollie
I did not know that birds ate my food! But you reminded me of one of the funniest things ever that happened in my lifetime. We used to be allowed to go outside, like 15 years ago or so, when I had 2 troll brothers. One of them brought in a live bird while my mom's mom was visiting - he was bringing her a gift, how thoughtful! Well, my mom was trying to get this bird outside and keep the boys away from the bird, and for some reason, her mom was sitting on the couch (I guess staying out of the way). That bird pooped right on her mom's head - MOL!!! It was a very hectic 2 minutes, but the laughs have lasted for years!!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. That comment was from me, Fuzzy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great bird show today~!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is truly exciting~!
"A CATserole"!!! MOLMOL
ReplyDeleteI prefer my birds tartar! (But never those pigeons; that's junk food)

Such fun with the fevvers! Baby watched some of them flying around the tree outside this morning. She didn't want to go out though...too cold.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I love the thought of a good CATserole! Those birds had better watch out!
ReplyDeleteOh man, dat was sooo good effun our mom gots acited by dem birdies!
ReplyDeleteOh the torment of those birdies being so close but untouchable. Perhaps if they eat enough kitty food they will turn into kitties :) prrrrr
ReplyDeleteI really love your cat walks! I have a fantasy that we could have them in our house.
ReplyDeleteAnd I like to bird watch too! Fascinating things, those birds.
I would be very curious about those birds.I like to watch what they are doing outside!

Luna - WE LOVE LUNA
Great birdie channel you have there.
ReplyDeleteThe birds who catwalk on our fence drive us totally nutso. We chatter at them like it's going out of style! We love that you're taking care of Henry so well :)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you are pre-stuffing the bird!
ReplyDeleteThose birdies are pushing their luck teasing you like that. If we leave any Stinky Goodness mum throughs it out to the birds..
ReplyDeleteIn Spring, when the swallows come back and are looking for places to build their nests, they fly right into the kitchen when the door is open, and we are waiting. It is a race with mum to see who gets to them first. If we win she yells and makes us let them go which isn't fair.
Great shots of your own personal aviary!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like Henry is going to be joining your home very soon.
Madi
OMC, that's just so much temptation! We don't know how you all can be so patient!
ReplyDeleteAnd CC let his last catch go, alive? Oh, that's just too much...!
Oh how I dream of catching a live birdie!
ReplyDeleteCATserole... tee hee.
ReplyDeleteha ha - CATserole - dat's cracked us up!! We feed the birdies in the winter on the patio too. Oooo, I'd just love to get one of those one of the days!!
ReplyDeleteWe bet you are all drooling in anticipation of a wonderful dinner.
ReplyDeleteI think you have the best live Bird-TV anywhere! Even the birds seem to like their Cat-TV!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat bird TV! Glad Henry is still staying close to home.
ReplyDeleteYou kitties are so lucky to get BIRD-TV in HD and smellevision. It is very sweet of your daddy to invite the birdies over as snax...um, I mean for snax.
ReplyDeleteWe are very glad to hear Henry is getting braver!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a bird show you have! Live bird TV!!! It's the best!
We are glad Henry is staying near by. He gets to see the birds really close up!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday!

Oh what!! Now that's what me and Charlie call reality Bird TV!!!! So close and yet so far...!!!
ReplyDeleteAwwww but we love that mum and dad look after the birdies too!! Take care
x
Charlie of course meant to say "Oh WOW!" and not "Oh what." Ahem. xx
ReplyDeleteOh Wows, look at all those large birds. Those would be a little hard to take down. But it sure would be fun to try. That was sure great that Dad moved Henry's house around to the warmer side of the house. See he is part of the family. Take care.
ReplyDeleteOH I want to see more Henry. We do a lot of birdwatching at the Museum, too...but they won't come in the house ;)
ReplyDeleteBirds that eat cat food would be super nutritious, keep trying.
ReplyDeleteKassey
Catserole! Hahameow! Loved that. Oh and Rupert..I have some Gerber hams.....want some?
ReplyDeleteFluttering feathered feasts! Good one!
ReplyDeleteAnd you mo shouting with glee at the birdie....yeah, we just bet that's what she was shouting!!
We bet Sylvester is so happy to use his birding skills after being cooped away from such things for such a long time.
Thank you for looking out after Henry and moving his hut to a warmer location!
Oh my that is the best birdie tv I have ever seen. Sooooo close....and we bet if you guys are patient...yeah we bet there will be a birdy fest!
ReplyDeletepurrin
xoxox
oh its like central park feeding. we think those birdies say they heard a puddy cat!
ReplyDeleteWow, great bird watching at your house!!!
ReplyDeleteThose are big ol' birdies at your house! Great idea having them eat cat food since that'd make them taste all the better!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know that the cat I posted about "Charlie" with the missing nose and ears lives in the UK not in Canada. If he was close to me I would have him at home right now. I, too feel bad for him and hope that someone comes forward where he is to give him a home. I hope to be able to keep tabs on how he does. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x5
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a great way to watch the birdies. They better be careful!
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,
Oskar
That is one seriously cool catio, eh!
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming to help me celebrate my Gotcha Day!
ReplyDeleteMeow!
Nigel
Wowzers, that is a lot of birdies. You all are so lucky to be able to birdgaze all day long. And what's with it with those humans? Scared of a little birdie?
ReplyDeleteWow! Those birdies are providing some great entertainment for all of you!!
ReplyDeleteOur dad likes to put bird food on our porch and the birdies come real close to our window!! Maybe we should tell him to put some of our foods out there!!
Cat Guy week? Huh.
ReplyDeleteWow the Catio gets better and better! I have the same tweets in my yard and I love to chitter at them. Not a fan of the Mockers.
Thanks to my cats, I have had the "pleasure" of live birds flapping wildly around the house. It makes quite a mess, esp. with the cats racing madly around trying to catch them.
ReplyDeleteThat's some birdwatchin!!
ReplyDeleteThat is fantastic birdwatching! And I love that the birds are eating cat food. Very amusing.
ReplyDeleteWe all have Birdie Envy over here! That and wanting a cool catio!
