Kitties!
Scouty here.
I didn't start out being smug, actually I was VERY worried.
Do you see my worried ears?
Here's the scoop...
Do you see the rumpled fur on my back?
You may have to biggify, Ill wait.
Did you see it?
Kitties, it was a huge mat in my back fur! I tried out a new fur-do and it (obviously) went terribly wrong. I was quietly growing out my furry faux pas when one afternoon The Screechy Lady Mommy noticed it while I was lounging on her my big bed. She told The Lumbering Dude Daddy about it and I overheard them plotting to capture me and remove my mat. This was horrible on so many levels; the worst of which was the fact that they were going to TOUCH ME!
And we all know that Scouty don't do any "touching".
I had to act!
I started working on fixing my follicular fiasco the very next day. Once again that Relentless Spy Mommy saw me on MY bed, only this time I was grooming , not snoozing, and I was busily working on my back furs. There was NO WAY I was going to leap through the Cat Flap, into a carrier, and be combed (whilst flailing) by leather-clad humans. Because that was the Evil Plan.
Which I foiled.
It took me a couple of tries, but I got that mat OUT! The Scooper Man Daddy saw a big wad of Ornj fur out on the Catio yesterday...
...and I'm back to my sleek, smug, self.
heh heh.
Happy Saturday!
xx Scouty xx
You look downright scared in that picture pal. Well, you could be mad too - either scared or mad. It must have been horrible having dat black mat there. It sure is good you got it cleaned up yourself.
ReplyDeleteWay to go Scouty. You's the man.
ReplyDeleteFooled both your humans.
Purrs,
Genghis
That was a close call Scouty! We're glad you got the mat out yourself instead of having to be touched by your mom and dad! Although, maybe you would have liked it. Just sayin.
ReplyDeleteThat was a close one, Scouty!
ReplyDeleteScouty you tricked them! And you look so handsome! I like the sleek look.
ReplyDeleteI understand your pain. When I was little I used to get hair mats and I never wanted the dreaded comb!
Good job, Scouty! You must have a P12 grit tongue :D We wouldn't want our mom to rip, er comb, a mat out of our furs either but really, getting petted and scritched is soooo nice - trust us!
ReplyDeletePip, Smidgen, Minnie, Hollie
I'm very impressed. Mom Paula is trying to get me used to grooming, just a little each day. So far, I don't like it and want to play with the comb.
ReplyDeleteTruffle
Wow! That's amazing. You must teach efurrybody how to do this! You really dodged a bullet! Haf a great Caturday, kittehz.
ReplyDeleteAnd you're looking good!
ReplyDeleteScouty, we sure wish you could give Oliver lessons on self fur fixes.
ReplyDeleteOh dear Cod, Scouty! I knew I felt a tremor in the Force--it must have been the very moment you de-matted yourself. I could feel that wave of relief rolling right through SF on its way out to sea.
ReplyDeleteI understand about the touching. Good job, Bro.
You are one clever feline
ReplyDeleteScout - maybe next time let one of your brudders or siztrs help you. I helped my big brudder out before we went to the rainbow. He did not like our bean to touch him, but he did not mind me licking his back for him. I kept him sparkly clean. No grezzy, grimy furs for him after I came to live at home.
ReplyDeleteKiefer
No Scouty Stew for them...no wonder you'z smug! Good going buddy!
ReplyDeleteYou remind me of Kim and her fur ! She doesn't like to be touched either !
ReplyDeleteBonjour mes amis! Good grooming, Scouty. I knew a cat who had to get her booty shaved because there was too much matted fur back there!! You dodged a bullet, my friend.
ReplyDeleteWe are so glad you foiled being captured by the hoomans. Don't they know you are big enough to sort your furs out? Be careful what style you choose next. Simba thinks you would really suite a mohikan :)xx
ReplyDeleteOhhhh my friend, I know your pain. The rumbleparents chase me with a buzzy machine to get my matts, I hate it!!
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing, Scouty. I am going to show this post to all the long haired members of perheeni and we are going to do this.Sometimes we see Äiti reach for the brush and then she looks around and there are suddenly no cats in the room! You did well dude !
ReplyDeleteWow! That room full of stuff is amazing!
ReplyDeleteOooh Scouty! It's really great getting dematted. It's kinda soothing with that brush thing and all. Give it a go, Scouty >^..^<
ReplyDeleteYou're awesome, Scouty! Few would have been able to deal with such a follicullar fiasco with such brio!
ReplyDeletePurrs,
The Chans
Good job, Scouty! You can take care of your own business!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful clever Scouty!! Yay for outwitting mum and dad!! Me and Charlie think you deserve extra treats for taking the initiative with your beauty regime!!! :-) Take care
ReplyDeletex
Scouty, you brilliant mancat, you. Way to go!
ReplyDeleteGood work Scouty! You foiled their plan.
ReplyDeleteOh, Scouty!
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to reach back there!!
Good boy!
Mandu
Wow good job Scouty... you couldn't teach Darcy how to do that could you?! He could use some lessons in dematting!!! =^..^=
ReplyDeleteHow on earth did you manage to get a mat on your back and more amazingly, to get it off all on your own? Hats off to ya, Scouty! Guess it had a lot to do with the horror of having the pawrents touch you.
ReplyDeleteYou really showed them, Scouty. I just wonder if you thought of asking for a raise in your allowance.
ReplyDeleteWow. That just might be the most exciting mat story I've ever heard.
ReplyDeleteHannah has a matt on her lower back - mum tries to get it out but (whispers) sometimes she has to use a tiny pair of scissors and snip it out - so please Scouty could you email Hannah and tell her how you did it.
ReplyDeleteThank you - Luv Lucy xx
Excellent work Scouty, but you do look to be in shock in those first pics!
ReplyDeleteThere's absolutely nothing a little cat spit won't undo. You are sleek & sexy now!
Good job, Scouty!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! You must have the magic kitty spit that can fix anything! :)
ReplyDeletexo Catherine
Well done Scouty. So they use leather hands to catch you. Maybe our Mom should get some of those. There are one or two or three of us that feel the same as you as far as being caught for anything goes. Glad you got that big mat out of you. Have yourselves a great day.
ReplyDeleteScouty that story was full up mystery, drama, intrigue and finally a happy ending.
ReplyDeleteHugs Madi
Awww... we hope your ears learn to worry less.
ReplyDelete~Slash & Bronzy
Scouty, that was a close one.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should try a little touching sometime, you might like it?
Nubbin wiggles,
Oskar
Hooray for you taking care of the mat yourself !!
ReplyDeleteOh you do look very worried in the 1st photo! I can see your worried ears. Glad you got to get the mat out yourself :-) You look great!!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend, Scouty!
Scouty, now that Mama is done laughing (she loved lumbering dude), she can compose my comment. I am so proud and in awe of you getting that mat yourself. You da man!
ReplyDeleteWell done Scoutmaster!
ReplyDeleteThat was a quick one you pull over on your Mom and Dad. And they thought they were taking you someplace to get a grooming session! You're brillant Scouty!

Wow Scouty, if you could teach other kitties how to do that you could earn lots of treat money!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, can you teach Figaro how to do that?
ReplyDeleteScouty, that was such a close call! I have those problems too and Mommy gets her scissors out, but just so long as its not the evil comb... You probably could teach a class cause I can't get them out by myself and would like to know.
ReplyDeleteJulie at Twinkletoes
Scoutster scoots outa the stewpot, once again.
ReplyDeleteYous the bestest!! Me KNOWS exactly about NOT being touched and wreaking havoc on peoples who trys to touch us!
ReplyDeleteKissses

Ms. Stella O'Houligan
scouty - sorry you had to go through all of that, but I sure enjoyed your play by play!
ReplyDeleteGood Job...I am very fussy about being touched too--Arjuna
ReplyDeleteScouty..I feel your pain! I had mats on my BACK..my beautiful LOGS, my arms, my belly and my s=chec]st! The only thing that escaped was my HEAD..while mommy could not groom me at all. I had to get my chest and belly furs and part of my LEG and arms furs SHAVED OFF! It was terrible.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't keep up with my own grooming (older Lady now) so I need assistance but not THAT kind of assistance. NO VET again Mommy!
