Fantastic shots! I can't wait to have a humming bird feeder when we move to Southern CA. There are tons of those beautiful birds in the desert there. Love them!
Very cool pictures, indeed. Did someone get a zoom lens for Christmas? I think I can hear the indignant howls halfway across the country for leaving the cats out of the blog. The nerve.
And in fact Miss Bee's tongue is much like a straw, and as you can see, sort of pinkish red. :) She and her sisters have to get a lot of moisture out of that hummer food to make honey. In fact, sugar water makes lousy honey for human consumption, but it'll get the bees through a tough winter (or make for easy pickings when out foraging.)
I had to move one of my hummingbird feeders last summer when my honeybees found it. It was just a little too close to my beehives... :)
Loving the pics. That sort of picture is my own fave as wekl, meaning mcros of birds and flowers. I get out in the Spring thru late fall for these and landscapes in between.
wow! what nifty close-ups! we kin even see FURS on her shoulders!! although we misses seein' kitteh pictures, we kin stand it if the replacement is as inneresting as this one;-)
Miss Bee is a beautiful little creature, and don't know what we would do without her! Love the shots.. someday Mom would like to have a good camera. Happy Tuesday! ~ Gracie

Miss Bee is lucky she wasn't impaled by a sharp hummer bill!! Those hummers are pretty territorial. Your photographer got some excellent pics!! Hugs madi
