Kitties!
We are a little sad and pensive today.
We've lost a lot of wonderful blogging friends lately; and although we don't do memorial posts or put up memento mori badges it doesn't mean our hearts don't break when we hear that another Excellent Pal has passed beyond our realm.
Because we miss our friends very much.
Instead, we choose to honor their memories by trying to give you something to smile about--life is so short, it only makes sense to fill it with as much love and laughter as you possibly can.
We hope our collage gives you a little grin:
And maybe a tiny chortle at our chatter?
Mommy snapped these with her phone yesterday while we were hogging the bed hanging with her while she rested. We've all been camped out, taking turns with Nurse Duty. Johnny's practically been nailed to the bed, although that might be more for the attention...he's a Ho for rubbins. Salem and The Baby have spent a lot of time with Mommy too and of course gotten their share of luvvins. Even Scouty took a shift! Naturally he didn't stay, but he sure as heck beat feet to hop up on the warm spot as soon as Mommy got out of bed. Also, he's gotten up onto the bed--with Mommy in it--twice this week; made biskits on the stripey cat bed and settled in! Not for long, but it's progress. Maybe in another ten years he might allow Mommy to pet him. Anybody wanna make a bet?
Happy Monday!

I echo your feelings of sadness. It sure seems it's a season of loss.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the kitties are not neglecting their nursing duties. I hope it's working and you are feeling better! Scouty will come around as soon as you are not expecting it!
Head-butts and a smile your way -- and thanks for that. Lots of loss in the air these days, as you say.
ReplyDeleteThere is a time for every season under the sun...sadly even for loss.
ReplyDeleteYou do make me smile every day.
We'll put money on Scouty! Lumpy took 15 years to let our mom pick him up without spazzing. That is, so long as you don't make any stew...
ReplyDeleteWe miss the friends who have bee goin over the Bridge so many lately. It saddens us. But it must happen to all at some time.
ReplyDeleteIt is best to remember the good adventures and days of our friends who become "Those Who Went Before" for we all follow the same path.
WE think the best way to rember our friends is to enjoy our lives as well and fully as we can an not let a minnit go wasted (an nappin is NOT wasted time).
We kind of feel the same about memorial posts, but we too miss our dear furiends who have Gone On Ahead. My Human says we'll all have a giant meet-up pretty soon though, so that's good.
ReplyDeleteThe Human says that *I* have occasionally put in a bed-top appearance in the night which has surprised her once or twice when she's opened her eyes at 3 a.m., MOL! Scouty and I are kindred souls. I know he thinks I'm a sellout Brush Ho though. That's okay. I can respect that.
When our buddies leave us it's right that we are sad, but also we do believe we have to live and love those who are with us right now and appreciate them all the more.
ReplyDeleteSo it's great to get all those pics! That bed really is a 'hotbed' in many ways :) Go Scouty!
We have been very sad too. It is hard to lose so many friends so quickly.
ReplyDeleteWe are still in mourning too but as they say....life goes on....but of course, it won't be the same. Thanks guys...y'all made me grin very very widely today. Good nurses, all. purrr...meow!
ReplyDeleteIt's always sad to lose friends. Smiles help to heal. Your collage does just that. :o) Really cute pictures!!
ReplyDeleteIt's been very sad around the cat blogosphere lately, so all clowning is welcome!

We do the same, so we understand.

Mom and I both need a place to go to smile and enjoy our friends here with us. Thank you. You more than fulfil that need in all of us left here. So mom and I both send love and pu]rrs and pets to each of you. xxoo

You are right...there's been so much loss and sadness. It reminds us how fragile and wonderful all of our moments are. We hope the mom is feeling a little better. All of the nurse cats MUST be helping.

We have had leaky eyes all this last week...so many OTRB...yet all of them, lives so well lived. Still, leaky eyes...purrs heal the world...
ReplyDeleteThere has been so much sadness lately but Johnny you just made our day...love the cuddly pics of you. Big purrs to Lounge Mommy for her recovery and feeling better.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of losses lately. Your pictures made us smile.
ReplyDeleteMy mom person is still going to do a post with our Moe Ling's picture & your May Ling's picture, but she made the impulse decision to move by blog to WordPress this weekend, so it will be one of the first posts on my new blog.
