...because I want to tell you about the 2012 Cat-O-Lympics!
This year we are sponsoring a new sport, COUNTER SURFING!

The rules are simple.

All you need is an actual picture of yourself (no photoshop) on a counter! (or worktop, for you Brits)
Bathroom counters are fine, too.

Extra points for doing something naughty fun!

Synchronized Surfing adds a degree of difficulty...use a prop if you're an only kitty!

Oh, and being IN a box (or whatever) ON the counter counts! It's not necessary to surf bare-naked. Unless you want to, of course.
Here's the fine print:
1. You must submit your entry to us no later than midnight, 7/13/12, PST.
2. You must email us your picture, together with the name of the cat/dog competing AND a link to your blog and send it to katniploungeATgmailDOTcom.
3. Competing in this event means that you are giving us permission to use your picture for the Cat-O-Lympics 2012.
4. Your picture does not have to be new but you must not have used it in the previous Cat-O-Lympics 2010.
5. Each cat or dog can enter each event once.
6. Entry is open to all cats and dogs. You do not need to have a blog to enter.

The only counter surfer here is Binga... and my human almost never catches her up there - and never with camera in hand! She is quick and sneaky, I mean, stealthy!
ReplyDeletePisi and Squeak NEVER get on the counters! So they couldn't even qualify. They'll have to try for one of the sleeping awards. Is anyone doing a competition on kitty tantrums? Pisi would win that one.
ReplyDeleteGeez, I can already tell I'm not going to win any of these things. Well, if there was an event called "Being Aloof" I might have a chance. Or maybe Most Cowardly (Hey, Human! Don't type that!!!)

ReplyDeleteOoh, ooh, I know who from my team can win this. I don't do counters, but Moonjoo is really good at it. It will be challenging to get his picture though :)

Thanks for the explanation about worktops!!!! Do dinner tables count? Austin's dead meat if he's caught on the worktop!! Oh, and what kind of prop? Sounds a bit seedy to me lolol Will try and get him up there, he needs flea gunk anyway. That could be another event! The 3000 metre flea gunk chase.

I so want to enter this but I an never allowed on the counter. Insteas of getting the camera when I am on the counter the mom runs out and puts me on the floor. Oh what to do!!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteWow! What a cool sport! I'm sure you will have a lot of entries from your own kitties -- with 13 of them, how many can end up on the counter at the same time? Perhaps you can win for the largest number for SINKronized surfing (considering that last photo).
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, there won't be any entries from any of the 3-Ds for this sport. They never get up on the counter -- ever. We haven't even trained them not to -- they just choose not to. I guess they (and we) don't know what we're missing!
I've been known to do a mean 10" surf up the counters to the upper shelf. If Mom can get me in the wave I would love to enter this event.

ReplyDeleteWe are not allowed on the worktops. The only time we get on them is when the suit cases are out and then we like to sleep on them. Maybe we can get mum to find those photos as we are allowed to use props.

ReplyDeletehmmmm...welllll....errr....uuummm...given the fact that I am 1) still afraid of dad; 2 ) won't let Mom or Dad pick me up; 3) am terrified of our aircon noise AND the ceiling fans; 4) I only play in the bedroom and finally 5) I don't like to get all 4 paws off the ground at a time...hmmm...guess I will be a spectator this year...sigh
