Friends & Kitties!
Sheebie here, and I'm just gonna take it easy today, with the Kats.
We had an incredible rainstorm here last Wednesday, and even though the humidity hasn't let up a lot--the ground is saturated--it's been ten degrees cooler outside. Which translates to many happy kitties, eager to hang out on the Catio! All these photos were taken Thursday evening, it was a pleasant 95 degrees outside with a nice breeze.
After Scott and I moved the Apartment Complex to the other side of the Catio he took the sides off the condos and the Horde likes them much better. Kona has dibs on Unit B, she uses it exclusively, and woe betide any other kitty who tries to occupy it...she's got sharp old lady claws, and a cattitude to back 'em up.
Miss Pea is guarding the rake we use for the litterpool cat boxes. She and May Ling are still having Cat Wars, but thankfully she has stopped spraying. There's still a Mystery Puddler in the house--I suspect the little meezer--she may have a vet trip in the future to rule out any physical issues, and then we'll go from there. I am so happy our floors are tile.
Felix and Rupert. Felix is Daddy's boy right down to his paw pads, and Rupert is mine. I love this boy so much. He's a quiet, unassuming guy, except for when I get out of the shower whereupon he transforms into a chittering attention-demanding boy, dribbling rivers of happiness. It's our special time that he picked out all by himself.
Sylvester, always on the fringes. I don't think he was raised with any other cats. His body language and demeanor is very dog-like, and he stares, a lot, which is rude Cat Manners. I think he simply doesn't know any differently. He's taken up residence in the laundry room, close to any kitchen action and his personal favorite pastime, licking plastic bags.
Miss Bitey Bite Bite Grayce! She's a terrible lap fungus. She feels that no lap is ready to be settled into until she has pummeled and pricked it to death with her pile-driving paws. Seriously, If we lay on our sides, she'll perch on our hips and make biskits on our hipbones. What a pest. But she's got a motor on her, there's no better kitty to have a little sofa snooze with.
Do you see CC on the lower right? He's another happy dribbler. That boy needs a bib.
Mister Maui is such a funny guy, I think he has pogo sticks hidden in his furry paws, the way he springs up in the air...he's like Tigger in the Pooh stories, only crazier. And more spastic.
This one is getting very comfortable around his Daddy! Scouty Stew Pot loves the shrimps he gets every evening and he will actually go solicit Scott for his treat; sitting just a couple of feet away, and even meowing. Progress. In another five years we'll be able to touch him. Maybe.
It's so nice to get outdoors again.
Happy Sunday, and have a good week!

"Pleasant" and "95 degrees" do not belong in the same sentence together. That is all.
ReplyDeleteWell, I must add that it is lovely to see such a wonderful picture of Miss Bitey-Bite-Bite Gurl. I haven't seen the Lovely Grayce in some time. Hello, darling!!
Lovely updates on all the kittehz. But we agree wif Spitty, 95 and pleasant is an oxymoron. MOL!
ReplyDeleteMiss Pea looks gorgeous and Scouty is mighty relaxed here. Have a great weekend. Purrs!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how much Scouty looks like Sherpa
ReplyDeleteI live in southern California and I have to say, my version of pleasant weather is rather different from you Nevada humans and kitties!
ReplyDeleteSuper photos - may you each enjoy your weekend in your own particular way!
ReplyDeletePurrs ... Rainbow
What? no The Baby? When I saw the white kitty laying next to a pile of debris, I thought it was her at first! MOL, obviously I don't think I know the difference at first glance yet... You should do a contrast and compare white kitty post sometime, lol.
ReplyDeleteOh, and no Tiny Johnson either? Ok, I haven't counted... so I don't know who all got missed, so I think I'll stop bugging you now!
Great to catch up with all your kittes. HOpe you have a lovely day outside. :)
ReplyDeleteÄiti is so happy to read this 'chilled' post with comments from the human perspective. Pah! I shall deal with that later now I have ideas about becoming a 'lap fungus'.
ReplyDeleteWhy, HELLO THERE, effuryone! Well, almost effuryone. :)
ReplyDeleteAren't catios just the best place to hang out?
Hello dear friends,
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see your pictures, I'm very happy visiting your lounge!
Here everything is nice, I'm enjoying long naps and beautiful sunny days at Summer.
I wish you all a lovely Sunday,
Luna - WE LOVE LUNA
I'm so happy to hear Scouty is coming around :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with alla the kitties... cooler weather is MUCH gooder! It was actually 65 on my patio yesterday morning. Blessed relief!
ReplyDeleteHello, Trish,
ReplyDeleteWith cats, you never know and never understimate the power of love and patience! We have a cat of fourteen and a half, we got her when she was about 7 months old, she had never been touched by a human, during one year we could only "brush" her coat once or twice a day, and then, suddenly, out of the blue, one morning, she let us TOUCH her, and not only two seconds, no!, during minutes! I thought she was ill and was ready to go to the vet with her! And since that day, our Fame is the sweetest and most loving cat we ever had! She's sitting on everybody's lap, even people she never saw before, she settles in their lap and purrs, purrs!
We also have a cat, 10 years old, she was only 7 weeks old when she came here, we would have preferred to wait a few weeks (we generally take in our pets when they are 3 months old), but it was not possible. The same day we adopter another kitten, they never played together, she always was aloof, but we never gave up and now, I can take her in my arms, not with her face towards me, but just lift her up and stroke her head and back, at first she is a little bit stressed, but I go on stroking her, kissing her furr and shispering her name, and suddenly she begins to purr! Miracles still happen! :-)
Have a nice Sunday and smoochies to the kitties!
looloo
I love the way you let your felines be themselves, appreciating and accepting each as they are.
ReplyDeletelooks like an amazing weekend!
ReplyDeletehave fun guys!
Two words I will never put together: "pleasant" and "95 degrees." Wait, I guess that's three words. ANYWAY!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the expression "lap fungus." Naomi is thusly our shoulder fungus.
And have I told you lately how much I love your cats?
I love what the Whiskerati said. I hadn't thought about it until I read that comment but you and Scott indeed let them have their personalities and you love each one for what they have and offer.
ReplyDeleteI think each of you are very special and your catio is such a wonderful place to hang out!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the cat meet and greet! They are all so sweet and special. Love the catio! hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteWe love the Catio! What a fun place for all the cats to hang out and just enjoy being them!
ReplyDeleteThe mom LOL'ed at your comment about being 95 and pleasant!
Glad you are having nice weather. It's only 8c (46F) here in Saskatchewan this morning. A little nippy!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday kitties!
xo Catherine
95 & pleasant is right up my alley!!
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful portraits of the kits. The apartment complex probably has nice air flow now, plus with cats it seems anything old is new again if there's a change to it!
I wish I had a lap cat.
Not 100% this week. Can't seem to shake it.
What fun it was to read about all you sweeties. Oh, that every cat could have the wonderful catio like you do. You all are just so beautiful! Have a terrific day! Hugs and nose kises
ReplyDeletePleasant would not be my first choice to describe 95F! It went down to 41 last night and we haven't even had summer yet. Good to see all the kitties enjoying the "cooler" weather.
ReplyDeleteOh youz all so happy, great that you can go out..Have a great day guys and lovely photo's xx00xx
ReplyDeleteYou have such a cool gang of kitties! Lately, Harley has become something of a happy drooler, too. My Mommeh was worried because it is new, but he just had a dental and his mouth is pristine. He just drools when he's relaxed and happy!
ReplyDeleteReally good to have the update! I was just wandering how Austin would cope if he was teleported into the midst of the horde?? There would probably be a book in it!
ReplyDeleteTheo has submitted his official papers to transfer to your house. He says you know how to treat folks right.
ReplyDeleteA home full of happy kitties. Nothing makes us smile more :)
ReplyDeleteHere, where temps in the 80's are not too common, it is hard to imagine 95 being comfy :o
Purrs Tillie and Georgia,
Tiger,Treasure,JJ and Julie
Great photos of the kitteh gang doing what they do best -- relaxicatting and looking cuter than ever!! One day, oh one day, I swear I will have a magnificent catio, too!!!
ReplyDeleteGREAT POST TODAY SHEEBIE
ReplyDeleteMom and I felt like we were right there in the Catico!
Hugs mAdi
We love hearing about the kitties and their different purrsonalities! We think it's very unpleasant if it gets above 80. :)
ReplyDeletewe too had a mystery sprayer and thought it was sillie millie not liking the newest ones..and then found out it was our newest girl..who is just barely a year old..and we are not talking sprayer..we are talking the whole piddle dump..she is an outdoor cat now as when she comes in..she has to mark her territory..the 3 older cats outside stay clear of her..she chases them and trys to get them out of the yard..I think one good pummeling from the to set her in her place is what she needs..she has no clue how seniority works around here..any suggestions..we would love to have her back in the house as little stewie misses his playmate/sissy...she started doing this about 2 months ago..and we had enough..
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a crew of cats. They obviously know they have it good.
ReplyDeleteLike others, 95F and pleasant don't fit in my vocabulary but if you like it that's all that matters.
Have a wonderful Sunday!
95 degrees would turn us into puddles of fur and bones! We rarely get up near 90 and we still have air conditioning! Ha! We are weenies!
ReplyDeleteBennette says that Sylvester can stare at her all he wants.
Purrs,
Cory
95 degrees is way Hot for here, but glad to see that it is catio weather for all the Lounge cats to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing better than a clowder of cats. Yours is a fine mix. Happy easy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteyou can tell you live in Vegas when "95 degrees with 'cool' breeze is pleasant"!! MOL...it's all in the attitude and you guys all have great 'tude! paw pats, Savvy
ReplyDeleteWow--you guys are so lucky to have that catico....if I purr alot, whill your mom let me move in? I'm not too sure Tommy would miss me. She has Mooch the scholar to keep her company! And I kinda got a crush on....
ReplyDeleteNoir
We want a catio, but 95 and pleasant. No, no way.
ReplyDeleteI like the litter pool rake, cool!!
ReplyDeleteThat catio is quite the thing and all the cats seem to love it, staying comfortable.
Have a good week!
Tom xx
95 does not sound very pleasant, but after temps in the 100's around here this summer, I can see how it might feel cool. I'm done with summer...bring on autumn and truly cooler temps!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great you setup you have there. I don't think you'd see me outside in 95 degrees. I'm just meowin'.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to read news about everyone =^.^=
ReplyDeletePurrs
