Friends and Kitties!
At our house Scott is the Landscape Guru and I am the Instigator of Low Humor; occasionally these two things converge. Last Friday Scott had a ton of pond rock delivered for top dressing in our entryway. He called me at work when he was done:
Scott: Hey.
Me: HEY!
Scott: So, I'm done with my rock project.
Me: Already? You don't mess around when you play with your rocks.
*guffaw*
Me: So, how big are your rocks?
Scott: My rocks are all different sizes, and they're so heavy I need to use the wheelbarrow to move them!
Me: Don't trip on your rocks!
Scott: I won't. Don't panic Sheeb, but some of my rocks are broken.
*laughter*
And later, when I got home:
Scott: Come admire my rocks.
Feel free to tread upon them.
Me: Your rocks are multicolored!
They look great.
Scott: They're a little dull right now, my rocks look better when they're wet.
*snort*
The project does look nice--since the entryway faces East and doesn't get much sun anything we* put in there gets spindly after a year or two. Scott moved the plumbago out of the archway planters (it didn't take) and put star jasmine in to grow up over the archway, and it's growing like crazy. We'd like a couple of big pottery pieces for accents, but we're still thinking about what--and it'll have to meet with Puffy Cat's approval.

More on that next Sunday...I promise.
Happy Sunday and have a Fun Week!

* That's a metaphorical "we".
I adore jasmine.
ReplyDeleteDid you think I was going to say Scott's rock's?
*or the "Royal" we - The Shepherd used to say - "We, who? You got a mouse in your pocket?"
ReplyDeleteLovely job on the entry way though.
And I forgot to say - WOW, what a Rat! T.
I can see that laughter at your house is just a stone's throw away.
ReplyDeleteThe peeps used to have an arch like that with jasmine, or so they tell me. We have a rock garden in the courtyard with big rocks like that in them. Somehow TW was getting her rocks off reading this blog cos she found it funny.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to have a sense of humour when you're married. ;)

I saw a commercial today. Dad is leaving on a business trip. The kids say "Dad, we made you a video of us. Watch it on the airplane". They touch phones to transfer it. Then the wife leans in the car window and says "I made a video too", and touches phones. Then says "DON'T watch it on the airplane...".
ReplyDeleteI bet THAT boosts sales...

ReplyDeleteSo Scott is allowed to have his rocks buut the mancats are not. There is something unfair about that.

Your rocks rock.
ReplyDeleteVery inviting entryway.
Star Jasmine has the virtue of growing here in CA. It does tend to strangle and kill any plant that might be growing nearby, though.
