Friends and Kitties!
Sheebie here.
One of the (many) advantages of Scott working from home is that he's around to document all the cool goings-on around our house. He's photographed a helicopter stringing power lines, the Presidential limo, various animals that show up, and of course the Park Across the Street.
Sometimes two of these at once:
Friday a creature showed up that we'd never seen before.
It stealthily snuck in on the back of a flatbed truck...
...and slowly levitated its' ponderous bulk skyward.
With the help of a crane, of course.
It was The World's Most Ginormous Horned Toad!
(Magnus Cornu Anurus)
They'll become part of the Park's interactive playground for kids.
Kids of all ages, apparently.
I saw them while driving home and knew they needed to be ridden.
Immediately.
The second I got home I hustled Scott outside (in his socks--no time for shoes!) to get pictures.
According to the blueprints there's also going to be a rattlesnake, whiptail lizard, and tortoise. Maybe I'd better buy a saddle...
Happy Sunday and have a Fabulous Week!

ReplyDeleteDo they not know who they live across the street from?? What? Not even ONE kitteh? How 'bowt a Giant The Baby? Or Salem? Now THERE would be something worth ridin'--just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes! I hope those things dont mate! Just think of dozens, no hundreds, of stone toads stomping around right across the street from you! In your garden.. sticking stone tongues out at your kitties! Horrors! Perhaps you should make sure they are neutered...
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a saddle.
We expected no less! Thank you for delivering, it made our Sunday!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a big toad. Looks like it is going to be an amazing park. Have a great day kitties. :)

Oh what fun! It was wise of you to test it for safety before any children came along. We wouldn't want them to get hurt would we!!
ReplyDeleteHorny Toads in my reader certainly caught my attention and wondered what I would find!!! Looks like you will be having lots of fun when the park is finished. The kids will have to queue up behind you to play there.
ReplyDeleteOH my COD, that is so funny. Who needs a horse when you have those handsome toads. Can't wait to see the rest of the animals.
ReplyDeleteOMC, what a sight!! You're going to have quite an interesting park across the street before they're done. We can't wait to see the saddle you devise to fit on those guys.

what fun....but those are some ginormous frogs!!!
ReplyDeleteWow how big those are!! You look so cute on that one! hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteOMC! We need to come to visit so WE can ride all those creatures, too. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday, and thanks for making us laugh!
Leapin Lizards Sheeb! Those sound feckin awesome and KUDOS to park &Rec designers for adding "non friendly" species! Though I am glad there isn't a giant scorpion as those totally creep me out. A giant trap door spider would be cool but I imagine they steered clear of all arachnids owing to phobias.
ReplyDeleteXoxo
That Woman
And I'm sure you know the toads are eyeball spitting blood freaks which makes them way cooler!
ReplyDeleteOh what fun and mum said she would love to join you.. Hugs GJ xx

ReplyDeleteOMC! These are HUGE!
ReplyDeletePurrs
Meowm misses those horned toads! She says they used to be in the field across the street from her house growing up! And she says she would have done the same thing, march right over and ride them!
