Kitties!
Shadow here.
The Screechy Lady was going through her photos and realized that she forgot to post about Me, My Daddy, and the Birthday Balloon!
Demerits have been awarded.
When the Screechy Lady was last here to visit, her mate (a.k.a."Mr. Crazypants") sent her flowers for achieving older than dirtness a respectably advanced age; and attached to the vase was a balloon.
My Daddy tried enticing me to play with the ribbon, but I was everso busy busy busy watching birds.
(note thrashing tail!)
But no sane Cat can ignore the Call of the Ribbon for long!
Hey! Where did it go?
My Daddy lured me out into the kitchen...
...and he let it go!
My eyes got as big as saucers, watching the balloon bob around. Kitties, I wasn't sure about that thing, floating around, menacing me with it's silent stare.
I decided to give it the cold shoulder and hope it went away.
Well.
It didn't.
So I spent a little time here: in the linen closet!
Is it gone yet?
Happy Friday!
XX Shadow XX
We haven't seen a balloon yet. We're not so sure we'd like it either.
ReplyDeleteWait 'til it falls to the ground Shadow and then POUNCE!
ReplyDeleteA long time ago, back at the old house, my human brought home one of those floaty mylar balloons and you know who was scared of it? Binga! It totally wigged her out for days.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the look of that thing either, Buddy. I think you were very wise to retreat to your Happy Place until it went away or got tied up again. I will tell you though, in case you ever meet one again: One good claw puncture and they're done for.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, we think it's just an excuse to get into the clean linens. (like we need an excuse! MOL )
ReplyDeleteOMC, not in the catio AND Dad in the shots?
ReplyDeletesweet Shadow!!! You looks a lot like my Oliver! I bet you related, and if you're half as awesome as Oliver then you rock! Come for a visit sometime.
ReplyDeleteYou're lucky your Dad just let that balloon bob around. Our Mommy would most definitely had tied (or at least TRIED to) the ribbon to our tails (or collars). She's mean!
ReplyDeletePS/ Mommy finally made salmon jerky! It FISHED up the whole house and boy oh boy, was it super oily! Mommy said she won't be trying it again...
Hoho, cats and anything that is moving! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt struck me that you resemble your dad really much, Trish!
Smoochies to the kitties!
looloo
Shadow is sooo cute! What a shame he couldn't play with the ribbon because of the bobbing monster on the other end..
ReplyDeletePlantation Shutters!
ReplyDeleteI die from the envy.
:thud:
Shadow, we're almost embarrassed to admit our reaction was pretty much the same, the one time our human had a balloon in our house!
ReplyDeleteOh! We've all been there, Shadow!! Ignore it for long enough and its ego will deflate!
ReplyDeleteOh the humanity...
ReplyDeleteThe dangling tail may be enticing, but balloons themselves are scary! Years ago, the cat-who-came-before-us, Rhett, could not resist the dangly tail of the balloon tail. He would dash out of hiding to grab it, then run even faster with the tail in his mouth because then the scary balloon would *chase* him!
ReplyDeleteThe linen closet looks like a good place to lay low for a while!
ReplyDeleteAwwww lovely Shadow!!! We hope the balloon is now soaring away somewhere but in the meantime, it's nice and cosy just where you are! Yay! take care
ReplyDeletex
LOL! The linen closet is always a cozy safe place.
ReplyDeletexo Catherine
That linen closet is a sure thing hiding place! Mum says I'm gonna get caught in there one day...but I cant help it...when its good, its good! Meow...
ReplyDeleteHave A Fantastic Friday!
LOL, the linen closet! We're sorry it scared you.
ReplyDeletethe linen closet is a totally reasonable and sane reaction..
ReplyDeleteMean old balloon scaring you like that...good thing you have a secret hidey-spot.
ReplyDeleteJada
Yikes! My Sister Gracie is so scared of those floating things!
ReplyDeleteBe glad your daddy didn't tie the balloon on your tail! Some humans think that is funny :(
ReplyDeleteWe think that cozy linen closet is a great place to hide...and nap!
Hi Shadow!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picstory!!
It appears your human sister is as crazy and mine! Good to know you have a hidey hole.
Hugs madi
It's ok Shadow. When our youngest boy was a kid (he's 25 now) he was in the hospital a lot. Although he liked the balloons in the daytime he would insist they be moved away at night because in his doped up groggyness he would think they were people standing around his bed in the dark.
ReplyDeleteThose floaty things are creepy.
Great space to hide!
ReplyDeleteRibbons are FUN! Big old balloon round floating things are SCARY!
ReplyDeleteShadow, that thing is possessed! But if you wait about a week...it will die. Trust us. Then you can really attack it!
ReplyDeleteI bet that was scary Shadow. Too funny but what a good idea to spend some time in the closet. Good place to get away from flying obstacles. Yikes. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHehehe!!! I see that "crazy" runs in the genes...poor kitty!
ReplyDeletexoxoxo
Shadow you did the right thing!
ReplyDeleteBalloons are pretty scary and unpredictable. Hiding in the linen closet seems like a good plan to us. If you're lucky some warm sheets might find their way in there. Purrs and hugs from the kitties at The Cat on My Head, Lily Olivia, Misty May, Mauricio, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
ReplyDeleteMe LOVES the floaty balloons, but Hissy Old Licorice was TERRIFIED!!! He always mumbled something about his tail and being chased....
ReplyDeleteKisses
Nellie
Oh, poor Shadow! We bet that thing that kept taking the string in the air was scary!
ReplyDeleteThat's funny! My peeps can't release balloons here cos we have ceilings which are hunnerts of feet high. They'd never be able to pull them down. Heh heh.
ReplyDeleteDaddy taunting you with the balloon! So naughty! Glad you found a cozy place to hide away. :)
ReplyDeletewow! that could be some kind of alien, for all you know. and most likely, living out there in Nevadazona or where eva it is you live. but i do hear there are LOTS of alien sites and area 52s out there, so you can't be too careful. keep those claws sharpened.
