Friends and Kitties!
Sheebie here, and do you know how lucky you are that I am? Here, that is.
Cos I am having a fantabulously lazy productive staycation!
I'm sleeping late, devouring books, doing yoga, riding my bike, ticking chores off my "To Do" list, and having delicious snacks every afternoon with coffee.
Like this:
A ripe sliced banana sprinkled with coconut and raisins, with a side of Belgian milk chocolate (with almonds) and toasted walnuts. Also, I ate it with a fork. Because I am a refined sweet eater.
I tried a new bread recipe for an Italian loaf that turned out so delicious that there is no photographic evidence of it's existence--we ate half with butter, honey and jam for dinner one night, and I made a "meaty" (don't tell Scott about the quotes--what he doesn't know won't hurt him--it was soy) red sauce that we ate on the remaining half the next day. I was worried when I punched the dough down the first time, it was very slumpy, but it rose like a reanimated zombie during the baking.
Scott and I have been catching up on his new store, Tie Dyed Hippy Wear (on Etsy) and he put some new things in; scrub tops and more tote bags. Thank you everyone who visited, liked us on Facebook, and/or purchased something, I really want to see this take off, it is so much fun.

Look! Two Arizona Hippies!
The park across the street is really looking sharp. I'm going to do a video for y'all, soon, to try and show what it's like to stroll around. Pictures just don't do it justice, IMO.
I also got a lovely thank-you email from the proud pawrents of Frosting and Hershey, the kitty transports, and they are settling into their new Forever Home beautifully. HAPPY, I haz one.
You may have noticed that The Kats haven't been commenting this week...
...I made an Executive Decision with which they are quite unimpressed.
Tough.
Well, I need to get back to being indolent and otiose--
Happy Sunday, and have a Great Week!

Our mom has been a little slack with our comments this week so we're trying to catch up!
ReplyDeleteWow, lots of great stuff going on! The pawrents look great in their tie-dye. Enjoy the rest of your staycation! XOXO
ReplyDeleteEwww, that bowl of "snacks" is nasty! And even worse, my human is slavering over it.
ReplyDeleteOur human thinks the tie-die Tees are great! Purrs!
ReplyDeleteWell, MY Human seems to have half-way made the same Executive decision and *I* am not impressed either. What makes them think THEY get to make the decisions? Huh? Banana looks delicious but I bet the Kitties didn't get any. Hrrmph.
ReplyDeleteGlad you've been enjoying your staycation. I'm "dying" over the tie-dyed scrub tops and wishing I still worked in the cat shelter. But I guess t-shirts will just have to do :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that bread looks yummy, (but kind of a fussy recipe) - I'll bet it tasted great with the butter and honey - one of my favorite ways to use up home made bread.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the heck out of your staycation! XOX T.
Enjoy your vacation break.
ReplyDeleteThe banana thing seems to go better with green tea, not coffee. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteLOL @ Sparkle's comment. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe'll check out the store again, our human can put an item or two on her wishlist!
Happy Staycation. Our human's taking tomorrow off, though we don't think that quite qualifies for a bona fide vacation!
That snack is not otiose!
ReplyDeleteI'm not really doing bread. Mostly plant-based and lean proteins. Although I love a nice, crusty, dense bread.
ReplyDeleteNow I has a sad.
Otiose is a most excellent word! I'll be having a generous portion of otiose this afternoon!
Continue enjoying your staycation!
Momma has been busy... Lazy... Slacking... Oh, momma loves walnuts. I can hear her say Yum! from her desk.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are having such a good staycation. Good for you. That snack looks yummy. Love the shirts.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Glad you are enjoying your staycation, Trish...that's what they are all about! :)
ReplyDeleteThat bead sounds great. Glad all is well. Hugs to the kitties.
ReplyDeleteLove your new shop! Good luck!!!
ReplyDeleteFeliz Cinco de Mayo!
Cats of wildcat woods
Can't remember the last time I was otiose because I have no idea what that means.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the staycation! Thanks for the new word, otiose...I'll have to remember to use that one at work...somehow!
ReplyDeleteI think us Moms and Dads need to take the time whenever we can get it to recharge-they'll get over it.
ReplyDelete;-)
Have a good rest of your break.
hey Trish, have a great staycation and the kitties will have to wait to visit their furriends and their furriends will all be just fine...paw hugs, Savannah
ReplyDeleteGlad you're having a good staycation!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of tie dye, do you happen to watch shark tank? One guy came on and said that he vowed to only wear tie dye since he retired so he made a whole suit tie dyed! The suit pants were short, but it still looked awesome! Thought about Scott when I saw it, lol
I promise as soon as I ever have some money (I don't have a job and my husband is retired) I will order! I am DYING to order from you!!!
ReplyDeleteBTW how do you stay slim eating chocolate?
A happy ending for the kitties. Here's to many more of those!
ReplyDeleteMaybe Scott could get some women's, well fitting Amy Winehouse style T shirts and do them for summer. I got one several years back in aqua, tangerine and white but it was done on a man's sleeveless undershirt. The armholes were so big I always had to wear it with something over it.
That staycation sounds wonderful! WE are glad you are enjoying yourself so much!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, you look like Audrey. And tell mom I would arm wrestle her for that 'snack'.
ReplyDeleteOh! Home made bread! And Those Bananas is pawsome and wes did not notice yous not commented as wes been watching Mommy work her more than ample buns off!
ReplyDeleteKisses
Nellie
well, isn't that just so like a Peep? Take over a bloggie and waste eva one's time wif nonsense like bananas and staycations and bread. Humph. Hello?! Did you smear the bananas with tuna? use your precious staycation hours to brush kittehs nonstop? did the breadie have mice toes in it? No? Well, then I fink you may have lost your audience. Maybe you should start a new bloggie called "not for cats.com" or start a "well, this is dull!" fan page on FB. Cuz that surely is what Mrs. Whatsername needs to do. in fact, the dreaded Mrs. W is wearing tie dye at the moment and wishing she had some bread wif butter and honey. it's pathetic. you two could be quite a team.
ReplyDeleteWe know our Mom would love to have some time like you've been enjoying, but she and Dad just returned from three days away, so we think she's had enough fun for now. Enjoy. Purrs and hugs from the kitties at The Cat on My Head, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
ReplyDeleteLOVE the new mosaic look. I haven't seen that before anywhere. It's a great refinement on the uninhibited splashy time-honored approach. I really do love it! Well done!
ReplyDeleteOtiose. Now that's another thing you don't see every day. Must look it up.
Leisure yes. INEFFECTIVE FUTILE USELESS???
Gotta bone to pick w/ dictionary. Must go pick it. Later!
