Wherein Sheebie Tells All

Kitties!

Sheebie here.

I/we were cursed blessed with a meme,  The Writing Process Blog Tour,  from our most wonderful and creative pals over at GLOGIRLY.

Katie--the brains of the outfit, Waffles--purrfessional solipsist, and Glogirly--secretary to the stars, crack me up nearly every day with their witty repartee and drive me to tears with longing for better photography skills.

As with all memes, there are rules, which this time *gasp* I'm actually gonna follow:

1.  Introduce you to the blogger who invited us to participate.   done.  ✔
2.  Answer three "easy" questions.  be patient.  I'm getting there...
3.  Tag a favorite blogger whom I'd love to pass along the curse to participate.  (THIS IS THE BEST PART omigod who can I CHOOSE???))

OK.

I'm regretting following these stupid rules already.

Question A:  What am I working on?
Hell if I know.  This post?  I didn't realize I was supposed to be organized at blogging.
::anxiety::

Question %:  Why do I write what I do?
Honestly, cats and technical crap are all I really know about...and I don't feel there's a huge rapt audience out there in the blogosphere dying to read about chemistry, EVERY.  SINGLE.  DAY.
Cats are different.  People want to read about cats.  I have cats.  It was a pretty simple decision.
::no anxiety::

Question 33 ⅓:  How does my writing process work?
I'm always struggling for the next post.  Not that I lack for cats (!!!) or ideas; for me the bottleneck is photos.  Since I've started writing the majority of my posts at work it's hard to play around and edit photos when I'm not at my laptop, and it kills my creative buzz to "pre-do" photos--my story comes as I play with the images.  Having said that, how it usually works is I get busy doing other stuff and around 19:40 (optimally I publish at 20:00) I get all Holy crap I need to DO something for tomorrow's post!  and, wracked with remorse for not having started sooner, bang something out and hope for the best.  Very rarely I'll have something in mind which allows me to put off the inevitable composition to 19:54 or even later...I'm not very good with plans and deadlines...as a matter of fact it's past my publishing time right now.
::further anxiety::

Now for the good part, picking a victim friend to write about their writing process...
bwahahahahahahahaha!!!
(evil laugh)

A multi-cat blog written by a person who is one of the most wonderful ex-pat English people living in Finland I know.
*wink wink*

Thanks, Glogirly, for giving me something interesting to do at work whilst causing me only mild anxiety.  It was fun!  Really.

Happy Sunday!

Oh I love this! You sound as unplanned as I am--though you have (A) more talent, and (B) more cats!!!

And purrfect choice! I can't wait to hear from Ms. Karen and the King Kitty Cat of Finland(N).

It is good to know everything and I am similar. It's the CRAP - I have to get a post up and SOON. What should I do?

I LOVED this!!!!! Sheebie, you crack me up. ...which is after all, why I passed the torch to you. Not to cause mild anxiety, for the record.

You did a fabulous job of describing my (uh, I mean your) process. Although when I wrote my tour post, I tried to be all elegant and stuff... the truth is I'm saying the SAME thing to myself nearly every night right before I post. Procrastinators UNITE!

And PS... thank you for your uber kind words about me and the crew.

Äiti - come back....... Come here -YOU have been tageed.

She's not happy you know, Mom Trish...... she's not happy.... and that's not just becasue King Spitty got her name wrong...... it's because you said no one wants to read about chemistry every single day......

We thank you for this blog post (but not the tag!) as it is indeed very interesting knowing there are things our bloggers universally get anxious about! hehehehe.

We WILL get her to respond.

You're braver than me. When I heard about the hop I turned it down. Way too much on my plate but so happy to read about your process. AND you're to hard on yourself about photo skills. Your photos are beautiful!

We have to agree with Rumbles, Well done Sheebie. Sure glad you didn't name us. We also follow your guidelines, just make a story out of the picture. Happy Sunday to all of you.

Ha ha ha, that's funny! Mum struggles with the photo part too. But your posts are always great so...why mess with success?!
**wink**

I am waiting to hear from her too...with the wonders of Finland to boot. Riches. I have that honor as well in my human blog so I need to get going on it. xox

It's no small feat to post every day, especially when working full time and juggling life in general. No matter what your writing process! :-)

The best I can do is the occasional update of how the boys have been, blah blah. But as someone reminded me recently, blogging isn't (my) job. Good thing! Ha.

Great post!
Good to know you are no more prepared than our Mom. She looks at pictures she took and a story develops.
All too often lately, we are sleeping or on the porch in very similar positions!
After 7 years of blogging, Mom wants to do some different stuff. Given how lazy she is, we are not sure what this means. We will be watching her very closely.
After all, it is OUR blog!

Fun!! I'm a seat of the pants blogger also!

The mom says you write like she does...totally unplanned...and flying by the seat of her pants. :) We try to give her as much material as we can.

What?
We thought you carefully planned organized and executed each posting!

TEEHEE ... not!
Excellent!!

It was fun reading this. Then again, it's always fun reading your posts! You are sharp, super witty, and know your cats. These things always shine through. Of course, we really come to see all the kitties. :)

lol your responses would be pretty much what mine would be :)

Sheebie you make the Staff seem almost organised! Except she can't organise a booze up in a brewery or get a post out every day!!! Good to know there are fellow angst ridden folk out there!!

Mariodacat said...

Your posts are always fun. You do a good job and the process works for you.

Eileen said...

But you make it look so easy. I think part of it is your unique perspective. You see things in your cats (and their photos) that I would miss.

Which is why my cats' blog features them eating, sleeping, occasionally playing, and more sleeping. Boring but the best this non-creative mind can come up with.

However you get it done, it works and we, the readers, enjoy it!

Hard to imagine you struggle for next post as your posts are always so much fun :-)

When this thing started, you had to select three other blogs to pass this to. We dreaded it when it fell in our lap. Mom has been buoyed by how many other bloggers are just as disorganized as she is. Like you, she is so jealous of Debbie's photo skills. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

Your process works. I never know what the next post will be until I look through my latest photos, which means having the camera in my pocket at all times.

We love your description of your process! The head peep was using this exact process up until very recently. The night that she got back up out of bed to write a blog post so that there would be something on the blog the next morning was the night that she resolved to stop procrastinating.

Currently, she procrastinates all weekend and then writes the week's blog posts just before her self-imposed deadline. (Which means she had better get on with that blog tour post she has to write!)

www.shelter-cats.com said...

I only manage to post twice a week and I have 2 wonderful cats at home and 100 to work with at PAWS. How do you manage to blog day after day? I look at my photographs and am frozen with indecision... which one to choose?

Lin said...

It's good to know that I am not alone in this process. :)

This was really interesting. Your style is inimitable and this post says why! You cheer us up no end.

How you manage to post good stuff every day is a wonder to us! Thanks for sharing. :)

Glad I'm not the only disorganized, last-minute blogger! I've read so many of these posts, and everyone seems to be so much more organized and actually plan posts out ahead of time. I was feeling like a slacker. Oh well, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?! MOL! Love your photos and posts!

Maxwell, Faraday and Allie said...

MOL!!!!
33 1/3!! LOOOOVE that!

*sigh* sorry, our mom is SUCH a geek. *eyeroll*

And yeah, she's been tagged too - by TWO people. A'course she'd forget her head was screwed on if we didn't remind her, so we don't hold out much hope - ha.

Oh and...light saber duels? She says she'll publish an excerpt from the show soon. Sriously, we told her to put down the crayon and walk slow-w-ly away.

This writing tour thing is funny; I mean fun. Looks like I'm not the only cat who needs new staff. What is it about humans and procrastinating?
