Kitties!
Rupert here.
Every night when Mommy goes to bed it is my Catly Duty to sit on her chesticles, pinning her down to the mattress. She whines that it hurts her back but I'm pretty sure she's fibbing,* because she lets me do it every. single. evening.
So, you think I'd be thrilled to have the Best Seat in the House, but "best" implies there are other seats...which means I have to share Mommy.
Look!
Interlopers!
Johnny and Miss Salem.
Thus my displeased expression in the previous photo.
However...
there are benefits for my benevolence and not getting all screechy and territorial and paw-slappy though. Like chin rubs.
And whiskerhole massage!
And most enjoyable of all, scruff scritchies.
All of which (you may note) the others are not receiving!**
Life is Good.
Happy Monday!
XX Rupert XX
*I'm not. He's like a lead weight on my spine.-ed
**that HE can see. As soon as he falls asleep and rolls off the other two move in!
Rupert you are the luckiest of kitties even if you are a dead weight.
ReplyDeleteWe each have our favrit night spots on or around TBT. I (Ayla like ta sit on his back or side and make bisquits on the mattress while I am unmoving ON him. Drives him crazy. Iza likes to get unner the covers and lay on his privates. Marley is easiest. He gets unner the covrs and sleeps an inch away.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to share, even if it's your brofur and sisfur. You win in the long run!
ReplyDeleteIf Johnny really wanted to be on mommy's chest I'm sure it would be a tussle and throwing Miss Salem in there could create a handful!!
I know you don't like sharing, but if your mommy is going to complain about just YOUR weight n her, invite Johnson and Salem to join you on her chesticles one night and she can see what the word 'heavy' really means!
ReplyDeleteJust the one night of course.. sharing has limits after all!
Oddly enough, all of us share the humans on the bed, with no complaints. When Sparkle was here, I think she and Binga complained a little.
ReplyDeleteMOL Dat's where me likes to sleep too. And me gets all those rubs and scritches too. :) Yous lookin' pawfully gawjus and comfy whedder yous mommy is or not. MOL
ReplyDeleteLuv ya'
Dezi and Lexi
Yes, Pekka is the chest-sitter here: the rest of us occupy the top of the bed except Sir Stink-A-Lot who creeps UNDER the cover. It is not nice down there after a few hours.
ReplyDeleteRupert, You look just like a LION. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteHow 'bout that MadBum, eh?
I only have to share my momma wif da dog in da bed.
ReplyDeleteRupert, the first look says it all.
ReplyDeleteDo you give your Mommy a brisk massage before settling in? We do. She has the pin holes on her chesticles to prove it.
MOL!
Oh Rupert what a lucky kitty cat. I spend most of the night on the bed as well. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the bed thing. Tom tells me to push them off (not that HE does, lol) but I can't, therefore I'm usually found at an angle in a wedge shape unable to move. lol
ReplyDeletePolly is to the left of the black box, down a bit from the gate. You're not the only one that couldn't find her.

Ignore instructions on Polly, got the wrong commenter. But on the question about the ears on the bear, they are put on after. I'll send pattern if you like.let me know.

Julie likes to sleep on Mom for a while while the others warm her feets :)
ReplyDeleteThe scritches are the best!
Purrs Georgia and Julie,
Treasure and JJ
Rupert, you really got PRIME spot + best service
ReplyDeleteWhat I see Johnny boy just want to make sure mommy will not drop to the floor
And My Miss Salem, I guess you love special spot ...to dream about me :) I love sock smell too xox
Ha ha- "Chesticles"! Haven't heard that one yet. My dad's lap is probably my all time favorite spot. Happy week to you, Rupert.
ReplyDeleteOh My Gosh! Mum says that you're the only other purrson that she's ever heard use the term 'chesticles'!!
ReplyDelete**high five**
I sleep on top of Mum too, but I have no competition so it's great. Um, she needs to read about the chin scritches and scruff scratches though. . . .
Best spot in the bed! Pierre likes to sit there, too, and he agrees that chesticle perches rule.
ReplyDeleteYep, you got the happy going on pretty good!
ReplyDeleteNow that is one happy cat!
ReplyDeleteWe're glad it's just the two of us...it's difficult enough to share our human. Can't imagine with so many other kitties in the mix. LOL.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful whiskers Rupert and we love the last picture after your scruff scritches as you look as though all's well with the world.
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Rupert, I think you've got it made!
ReplyDeleteWow, there is a lot of competition for the best spots!
ReplyDeleteYep, most definitely the best seat in the house!
ReplyDeleteTHAT IS "HANDS DOWN" BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE.
ReplyDeletehUGS MADI YOUR BFFF
Rupert, you sure got the very best seat! Rubs and scritchies...ah you looks so happy :-)
ReplyDeleteAwww... like any good kitty Mommy, no matter how uncomfortable a position we get into, the important rule is: DON'T DISTURB THE CAT!
ReplyDeleteI hope the weather cools down so you can enjoy all the cuddling!
xxoo
Maggie
Momma says that Abby used to sleep all night on top of her like that Rupert. She misses that and would give anything to be able to do that again.
ReplyDeleteHe's not heavy, he's my brother, I mean your Rupert. The million $ question is: what is the largest # on the bed at the same time?
ReplyDeletedood...scruff scritches iz de best isnt they !!! pea...ezz...ya mite wanna keepz an eye on johnny & salem...just sayin.....
ReplyDelete♥♥
!!
That is definitely prime position Rupert. I like to lie on my mum's tummy, but if she is on her side I go right to the bottom edge of the bed and sulk until she turns over.
ReplyDeleteYou're such a lucky kitty Rupert ! You've got the best spot ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteRupert, you certainly got the best seat in the house! Hope the others don't figure it out!
ReplyDeleteOh Rupert! Your Mama's bed looks a lot like LP's every night... it looks like a regular parking lot! :p We bet the others keep a close eye on your "privileged position" . . .
ReplyDeletethe critters in the cottage xo
Aw man...that's purr bliss.
ReplyDeleteThose interlopers look quite reminiscent of barnacles on a ship!
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about women and I sure don't want to know what chesticles are.
ReplyDeleteRupert, I guess your mommy can excuse your magical ability to triple your weight on her!
ReplyDeleteMom bean says she'd be okay with a brief chesticle visit if it happened early in the evening, but with Saku it happens more frequently at 4 a.m. Don't that fool you...she lubs it!
ReplyDeleteSasha, Sami, & Saku
Rupert, you really have it made in the shade, and you are so sweet and adorable. Our post for tomorrow is much like this one. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteYou look like you’re really enjoying it, Rupert. I kinda like the scruff scritchies but only on my terms.
ReplyDeleteRupert the happies on your face show us how wonderful it is :)
ReplyDeleteWow, Rupert! Great job of pinning down the mom for those all important scritches! Your evening routine looks so relaxing. Purrs...
ReplyDeleteTruffles likes to sleep on my chest too and it is pretty rough on the back :)
ReplyDeleteher complaining is part of the ritual.
ReplyDeleteYou've definitely got the best seat in the house! Pinning your mom down is a great strategy - gives her no other option but to give you the scritches and rubs you deserve!
ReplyDeleteHuh, oh! Sweet Rupert we read a secret at the end of this post. You better not fall asleep and roll off because it seems when you do they take over your best seat in the house. We loooooved the pictures of all of your enjoyment...so cute and relaxing. Hugs and nose kisses
ReplyDeleteYou know, your sleeping situation is starting to look suspiciously like my own... ten cats and counting!
ReplyDeleteRupert's a lovely boy!
