Oh, the Aroma...and Other Things

Sylvester here.
Mommy has THE best smelling shoes in the world, bar none.  Compared to hers, Daddy's shoes are lame examples of footy fragrance.  None of us glom onto delicately whiff his shoes, ever!

Back in Illinois, Angel Fuzzy used to wait every evening for Mommy to take off her work boots and he'd spend at least fifteen minutes thoroughly "enjoying" them.
I totally understand.

Mommy survived her evening at work Sunday night.  A huge electrical transformer blew up and knocked out all the power at both treatment plants--the blast was big enough to shake the building where her co-worker was.  Nobody was hurt and the power was restored fairly quickly, but she spent most of her shift putting her plant back on line and troubleshooting stuff that wasn't "happy" about being so abruptly shut down.  It was a fast night but she was quite glad to get home and snuggle into bed with us and relax.  She and her co-workers like to say "boring is good" and this is exactly why!

Also, many of you asked about the Magic Dust that gets sprinkled on our foods.  It's called Fortiflora.  Mommy uses one packet per feeding, (generally five to seven cans for us) so a little goes a long way.  Kona is a terribly picky eater and The Baby is sometimes less than enthusiastic about eating and this stuff does the trick.  In fact, the box is stored way up high in the cupboard where some over-enthusiastic cat (*koff*koff*Salem*koff*koff*) can't get to it, rip the packets open, and go to town.*
Mommy asked me to mention that Grayce's poop (she has intestinal issues) have gotten better also, smell-wise at least.  Sorry, Grayce--please don't whap me for telling...

Well, I need to get back to enjoying these shoes.

Happy Monday!

*It wasn't a pretty sight.

  1. Ooooh what a stinky post - we are almost smelling it from here!
We are glad no one was hurt by the exploding transformer, but we imagine the air was blue with naughty words. And Mommy got to be a hero restoring it all to working order. No wonder her shoes were smelly.

  2. *waving paws*

Sylvester my shoe stink loving hunk o' mancat! I'm finally able to post about my situation. I'm locked in a room all by myself, and if you teleport one will know!

I'm a bit sick, but you will make it all better.

    xoxo your tiny Tuxie Princess,

  3. Blew up, blast, smelly shoes, stinky poop, - this post has it all!

You wanna know what it doesn't have???
Joosy, young, kitteh thighs. That's over at our place. Better get your Mommy over there, toute de suite!

  4. None of us kitties care about my human's shoes - they do not smell interesting to us at all. I guess I don't need the Fortiflora because I am told I eat with TOO much enthusiasm.

  5. Enjoy your shoes, I don't like shoes at all. Glad your Mommy work problem got sorted. Have a great day kitites.

  6. Thanks for the info on the Flortiflora. We think we will try some of that. Ohs has diarrhea all the time. Happy smelling to you Sylvester.

  7. Well there is no accounting for good taste...err...smell. LOL!
    Have a happy week kitties!
    xo Catherine

  8. What is it about shoes? My cats do that too--especially if we have company and everyone leaves their shoes at the door. Cat. Heaven.

Don't worry about poop talk--we do that a LOT here now that the kids are gone.

  9. Shoes are just the best, next to boxes and bags!

  10. I must not have good shoe stink since Charlie doesn't care for my shoes at all..unless I've been somewhere that has other 'cat' smells...then he sniffs and sniffs.

  11. I'm assuming on one end of the scentOmeter is Grayce's poop and on the other end is your mom's shoes.

  12. Dang! None of us are interested in Mom's shoes. There is no @fun@ aroma :/
We are glad the work issue was solved.
Mom will look into the Fortiflora as JJ has issues with poop too ;)
    Purrs Georgia and Julie,
    Treasure and JJ

  13. Ashton loves Fortiflora, too. We can't imagine the mess if she managed to get into a box. (Ashton says "You go with your bad self, Kona!")

  14. Oh Sylvester, your mom's shoes must smell really really good :-)
Sounds like she had such busy night. I agree, boring is good!

  15. We're glad your mom solved the problem at work ! Her shoes must smell really good ! Purrs

  16. Our mommy rarely wears shoes and when she does she puts them in a closet so we've never benefited from smelly shoes. That might have to change!

Glad your mom got everything fixed at work! Gotta have water in the desert!

  17. I am glad that nobody was hurt when the transformer blew up. Hooray for your mommy getting everything back on track.
I get fortiflora too. It is mostly to try and help the diarrhoea I have had ever since those antibiotics, but it also encourages me to eat too.
It hasn't stopped my stinky squirts though. How long did it take to help Grayce?

  18. More excitement at work than Mommy wanted, I am sure.

    Those shoes look super sniffable.

  19. I used to love on my mom's garden clogs, but they were especially bite-able.

Eeek on your mommy's work cat-astrophe. Nothing like ungraceful shutdowns to deal with!

  20. Mom really thinks she's going to try that flora stuff with Giulietta and Fiona who just won't eat but a bite or two of stinky goodness. Giulietta is getting FAT on the C/D formula dry food. Glad things are back to normal for your mom. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  21. Mes had the most incredible flashback!!! Hissy Old Licorice used to love all over Mommy (and Daddy's) Shoes! And Sylvester - yous looks EXACTLY like HOL!!!
And good info about the flora stuff, but wes has no picky eaters here. Mommy will file it away for future reference though as she says there has been picky eaters in the past!

  22. starting the week with smells eh? our mom likes your moms shoes.
    Emma and Buster

  23. Enjoy your shoe smells, Sylvester. We actually like to smell and rub the dad-guy's boots but that's because he walks around plants and dirt and fertilizer all day. Mmmmm...yummy!

Y'know, we're not as enamoured with Fortiflora. Ernie didn't like it on his food...he's picky like that...but Zoey doesn't seem to mind it too much.

  24. Thanks Cod no one was hurt. We love stinky shoes and Forti-flora not there is any connection.

  25. Good to hear no one got hurt at work. What a silly kitty :)

  26. What a tense night for your mom, no wonder she was sweating in her shoes! Sylvester, you have your work cut out for you.

  27. We are so glad no one was hurt at Mommy's work. That sounds like it was scary!

Shoes are the bestest, aren't they?

  28. Yeah, we're pretty fond of shoos here too. Like worn socks too. An there's a reason Ayla like ta sleep in the hamper at night...

  29. Good news 'bout Grayce. Weez so happy to hear dat. Me kinda likes mommy's shoes too. Hers leather ones awe faw better than da rubber ones hers been wearin' since da floods. MOL

    Luv ya'

    Dezi and Lexi

  30. Our mom has the best shoes too! Except Sophie likes to chew on them, not smell them...

  31. I made a stinky poo (thank goodness( tonight. Mommy said it was THE single most aromatic EVER! But I needed to go. I having some problems again.

  32. Sami is our stinky shoe lover but she does not discriminate, any shoe will do, MOL

Enjoy the smells Sylvester and we is glad to know your mom bean got efurrything fixed up right at work.

    Sasha, Sami, & Saku

  33. So glad your Mommy and her co-worker weren't injured! We aren't shoe lovers here, but our Cousin cat is :)

Oh Boy...this is gonna be GREAT!
