Whitey Wound

Kitties!

Sweet Pea here.
I have some disturbing news to report--I almost vent to the vet!
See how my fur is a little manky behind my ear?  I had an abscess that I didn't tell anyone about which drained.

Last week Mommy noticed that I was glued to the sofa for a couple of days (not my usual spot), and that my eye was a little runny.  She told Daddy that I was perhaps due for an Unpleasant Excursion if I didn't perk up.  Well the next day I was all crusty and gooey behind me ear and right away they knew what had been going on.  It's hard to say how I got punctured; I wrassle with several of my housemates daily and we are a pretty rough-and-tumble bunch when we play.

I was back to my usual sunny purrsonality as soon as I got cleaned up (thank you Daddy!), and Mommy put a warm compress on my ear off and on for two days to hiss me off encourage it to heal.

My other ear is just fine...

All the better to discharge my Guard Duty:
Making sure that this Cat Grass is eaten responsibly!
We all have been producing some spectacular green yaks...everywhere.

Happy REAL Caturday!

  1. I'm glad that cleared up without a vet visit! Although Binga and Boodie play rough, it hasn't resulted in any unwanted trips to the clinic.

  5. Jeepers, Sweet Pea, we're all glad your mom and dad were able to take care of this and that you didn't have to make an Unpleasant Excursion. (Love how you phrase it.)

We hope you're all well; the biped hasn't been blogging for us or keeping up with everyone, either.

Tell your mom thank you for stopping by the human's blog....and yes, it seems that staycations mean doing all the chores and tasks that you don't have time to do on a regular basis.

    Purrs and peace,

  27. Well now this is interesting, you had an abscess and you got away without going to the vet?? I thought those always needed antibiotics.. did you do anything other than let it drain and the compress?
