Oranges?

Kitties!

Well, to satisfy certain Inquiring Minds, we'd like to report that Mommy picked the oranges, too!
A great big bucket...

...and another HUGE tub--over 60 pounds (27 kilos) of oranges in total.
And just as well, it's probably gonna hit the freezing mark any evening now.

Now you might think "Those aren't oranges, they're GREENS", and you would be correct; they will turn color within a few days once they get indoors and warm up.  Most of them are destined to be sliced and dehydrated--Mommy enjoys a couple slices in her ice water daily and occasionally she throws a couple in her smoothie to give it a citrusy tang.  Since they are all organic with no insecticides, sprays, or wax on the peel they are good to consume completely!

Oh, and one more thing, the most important one, actually:
We got nip!
Salem's whingeing lament did the trick.  Here Kona is enjoying a nice nippy bib rub...boy was she wrecked!  Daddy grows some mean greens.

Happy Caturday!

  1. I get the feeling that your nip is stronger than the stuff my human grows!

  2. We love the greens! And it's nice to know the limey lemons are not the only fruit you grow too.

    Now where's our nip????

  3. Oh, a food post which doesn't include the terms turkey or ham! Great! We don't like oranges, also when they're green. We'd love some cat nip though.

  8. Oh yummmm, you humans in warmer climates sure do grow some yummy stuff that we have to get in the store. Nothing better than Lemons or Limes or Oranges fresh off the tree.

  14. I have enjoyed the dried lemons that you sent me - I've never had fresh off the tree oranges - I've had out of the field bananas when I was in Hawaii one time - they were heavenly.

It's 29 degrees here now and supposed to get much colder tonight. Glad I'm not out on the street like so many. XOX T.
