Friends and Kitties!
The Mommy here.
I want to express a huge Thank You to all of you from Scott and I, your kind comments on the blog and Facebook after Sylvester's passing have been very comforting.
We miss our big ole Tuxieman lounging around the house, and on the Catio. Sylvester delighted in being outdoors, if the weather was fine he'd snooze for hours in the sun, baking. I'll never forget his wonder the first time he explored the Catio--we don't think he'd ever been "outdoors" before.
He had the best set of "Bat Signal" ears, and a musical meow. He wasn't terribly talkative, but he always was good for a "Bless You"...inevitably (if he heard us) he'd pllrrrowl after a sneeze.
He was a good sport...
...and he put up with our shenanigans with good humor.
Sylvester wasn't much for toys, but he adored his Spotted Red Mousie, which was his toy. I saved Mr. Mousie to put with Sly's ashes...it seemed right.
Our big guy was a big fan of chicken, bacon, steak, ham, tuna, salmon, mackerel...it took a lot of food to maintain his 20 pound figure!
Catnip was essential as well.
Most of all, Sylvester loved his Daddy. The two of them spent hours together every day, "working" in the office. Sly was tolerant of my loving on him, but his Daddy could maul him and he'd come running back for more. Although *I* was the only one allowed to Touch his tummy--but only in the bathroom on the rug--and only if he requested it.
We are so happy that we adopted him.
The past six years have been a joy.
Farewell, sweet boy.
We love you, always.

What a lovely tribute to your Noble Tuxie. He *was* a good sport, wasn't he? (But hey, Salem wants to know why *she* must endure that Whale talk????)
ReplyDeleteWe think his years with you were the finest of his life. He was a Very Good Boy, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and furiends. XOXOXO

We loved Sylvester from the moment you adopted him and he joined the lounge. He had such a great life with you. Thank you for sharing him with us and allowing our Bennette to be his beloved girlfriend. There is so much Tuxietude at The Bridge!
ReplyDeleteWe too loved Sir Sly and can remember when the bloggie banner changed and we awaited an addition with great anticipation. Sylvester lucked out with you guys and we are not surprised he loved his Daddy so very much as daddy bought him home. We are so very sad about his passing but know he had a fantastic time at the Lounge. Äiti has a massive soft spot for tuxies and always looks out for them in the night sky here. They were dancing last night - and she's sure there were lots of little black toe beans high-fiving up there.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely tribute to a magnificent mancat. Thank you for loving Sylvester so much, and so very well.
ReplyDeleteSylvester was a really awesome guy, and my human is happy she got the pleasure of meeting him!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful tribute to a wonderful kitty. I know without a doubt that he had a wonderful life with you and I'm so glad he was as loved and spoiled as he deserved. Hugs to all.
ReplyDeleteAs other have stated, this is a wonderful tribute to a very special and dearly loved companion. He was blessed to have spent these years with you -- and you with him. Soft purrs from Nicki and Derry and universal Light from me. Peace.

ReplyDeleteWe loved Sylvester too from the day his Daddy brought him home to the Lounge. What a wonderful tribute to such a handsome Mancat who will always be in our hearts.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your loss. I probably didn't be around lately but I remembered well he is the last one who entered to the katnip lounge.. I'm so happy when you adopted him because the cage where he used to live at the VET was so small. He has his wonderful life and lovely fameowly ever since. Hug to your mom and send comfort purrs to company him at the rainbow bridge
ReplyDeleteLot of love

ReplyDeletePaw-pats to all at the Lounge on this sad occasion. He was a lovely boy, wasn't he.
ReplyDeleteOh Trish I am so sorry. I remember very well when he joined your family and became a loved member of the family. I know how hard it is to lose a precious fur baby. Love and hugs.
ReplyDeleteWe send you lots of purrs...we know how hard it is to lose a fur baby...'specially one as special as Sylvester.
ReplyDeleteThat was a sweet tribute to a wonderful boy. I am sorry you didn't have more time with him, but the time he did have with you was full of love.
ReplyDeleteYes, my thoughts exactly, what a sweet story and wonderful pictures. He will live forever in your memories. T.
ReplyDeleteGreat tribute for the Tuxieman. You shared a lot a Sylvester in a short space, thank you. I didn't start following the blog until the full baker's dozen were firmly ensconced at the Catio, so I never saw posts from anycat's Gotcha'd days, and I have been learning their purrsonalities over time.
ReplyDeleteGreat memorial post. He will be missed by all of us in blogland, too. Enjoy Valhalla, Tuxieman.
ReplyDeleteI know it's a silly thought but all I can think of is Sylvester is now with so many of his harem, including Gracie. Will definitely miss Mr Handsome Tuxieman. Yes most definitely.
ReplyDeleteAw, gees...it is just so hard to lose them. I love your post reminding us of all the wonderful things about your dear kitty. He sure had a wonderful life with you...and you with him. I hope your memories carry you through the difficult times and tears. Love to you all as you mourn a really wonderful kitty.
ReplyDeleteI remember you bringing Sylvester home. That was six years ago?!
ReplyDeleteI'm so very sorry to hear this sad news. I didn't know he was ill. I've been away from blogging for awhile due to work and then being out of town.
This is such a loving tribute to him. What a blessed life he had with you both.
What a sweet sweet tribute. Nothing else can be said. He was a true tuxie love.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you my friends,
Glenda from Kansas
We're so sorry for your loss, but so grateful he got to spend his last years happy with you!
ReplyDeleteI've been away from the blogs for a while so I missed Sylvester's passing - so sorry to hear he crossed the bridge. He was a delightful friend and will certainly be missed. Hugs to you all as you celebrate and grieve.
