Friends and Kitties!
A few years back, some ignorant moron poor misguided fool opined that there were "too many cats on the internet", and that September 9 should be declared a "No Cats Day".
NEVER!
The cats of the world retaliated by declaring the day Mo' Cats Day!
Now, I personally think that there may be such a thing as too many cats in the house (a number currently exceeded at my abode) but there's always room for one more kitty on the innernets, and with that in mind, here are some Mo' photos of my folks' new feline family member, Shadow!
Please note the table runner bunched up on the chair.
All the better to stalk an unsuspecting Human!
Shadow naps here every afternoon. She has a clear sight line down the hall and into the living room from her top secret lair perch so she can keep tabs on her Mom and Dad at all times.
Because they need watching.
Also, it's a fine alternative for the spurned (and pricey!) heated cat cup.
Underneath the chair is a great place to watch out the patio door...
...and take advantage of any (and all) possible Snoopervising activities.
I ordered some Cat-warming gifts for my folks, and Amazon provided a Most Excellent Box, as well. Shadow doesn't know how to play much, yet. She loves Da Bird though, and she opened the closet where Dad stowed it and proudly trotted down the hall to show off her prize! She meeps and murps and chatters when she wants attention, and she's not shy at all--no such thing as a stranger for her. The folks have had friends over to meet the new furry family member, and Shadow is always ready to schmooze.
She refused to use her prettily decorated and ridiculously priced food bowls and place mat preferring plain white serving ware.
Kudos to the folks for figuring that one out!
Mom enticed her onto the heretofore ignored cat tree yesterday by playing with a toy, and it was a revelation, even though those Airplane Ears might lead you to think otherwise.
The tube is just right for a small House Panther.
Shadow has a nice place to survey her Queendom in the entryway...
...as well accept expert rubbins from the serfs.
Mom and Dad say Shadow looks just like a British Bombay cat, and her round green eyes follow them everywhere, watching. She's tiny but dense, like a brick wrapped in silk. I cannot begin to describe how gratified and happy I am knowing that my folks have a kitty. It makes me verklempt. I see photos of her in their house and it is just so right, to see a cat there. It never fails to amaze me how smart cats are, how quick is their ability to adapt, and how adept they are at winning our hearts so quickly and completely.
Of course I'm flying down for a visit. Soon.
Happy Sunday, and Have a Great Week!
Oh, and all of you, get Mo' Cats! You won't regret it.
