Kitties!
Here in the desert we get monsoon season in July and August. It gets really humid and sticky as well as insanely hot.
All day long clouds build up over the mountains, and along around dusk they roll in over the valley.
It gets really dark, really fast.
There's thunder and lightning!
And then, if we're lucky, it rains!
HARD.
Not that WE see it!
After the first lightning bolt most of us hotfoot it indoors, under the bed, where it's safe.
Except a few crazypants brave Loungers.
Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday pals. Hope it's a great one for you.
ReplyDeleteWell, if you have to put up with the thunder and the lightning and the dark clouds, there **BETTER** be rain at the end of it!
ReplyDeleteI think pretty soon you should all take a trip to San Francisco, where the high today was 61. Y'all need to chill a little ;-)
Oooh, here it rains or snows from October through June and we hardly see the sun.
ReplyDeleteI think this goat would like the desert
Enjoy your nap from your safe vantage points!
ReplyDeleteWow -- fabulous pictures! Squeak would hide from that, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteThose are sum brave kittehz! We would luv to see sum of that rain! Hav a happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteMom and Dad love those big brooders.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a storm! We haven't seen lightening before since we don't have those type of storms here but we're pretty sure we'd hotfoot it inside too. Felix is just a crazypants for staying out there!
ReplyDeleteWoaw !!! Sky is Suddenly Dark !!! and Lightning !!!
ReplyDeleteGuys I will do the same as you, Under the bed..Safe First !! Felix, You are so Brave !!!!! (Whisper )but you can change your mind any time, I won't tell anyone : )
xoxo
That sounds WAY scarier than fireworks!
ReplyDeleteThe weather here has been changing too. It's gloomy most of the day, and rain that doesn't last very long. We aren't too bothered by it but our big sister, Whisky insists on sitting on Mummy's lap when the rain comes and will shiver and shiver and shiver.....hee hee.
ReplyDeleteLove, Cosmo and Ling
That's it, pack yer stuff, you're moving HERE!!!
ReplyDeleteI think it's reprehensible that those humans don't have a bomb shelter installed for just such emergencies. Didn't they ever watch 'The Wizard of Oz?' I mean seriously!
ReplyDeleteEven *I* won't growl down thunder or lightemups
xoxo
Ms. Stella O'Houligan
Glad no one got wet! Enjoy your Sunday. :)
ReplyDeleteOoh! Thunder and lightning??
ReplyDeleteIt's the rainy season here too, so Harley and Lola sit on the window and watch it. I think it's this time of year that makes them glad they are indoor kitties!!
Wow! We thinks that sounds scary! I would be hiding!
ReplyDeleteBut my mom thinks it sounds cool!
Think "hotfoot" is the operative word here!!! Or "wetfoot" if you don't quite make it!!
ReplyDeleteDon't like big bangs:(. >^,,^<
Wow, that's crazy weather! Rain really alliviates the stickiness we guess, so it's good. Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteWe are in the rainy season here in Florida and yesterday Scooter scooted out the door, got rain-dropped on and scooted back in faster than any lightning.
ReplyDeleteStay safe!
wow amazing sequence in these pictures! We are all here very impressed.
ReplyDeleteI also imagine the smell of wet earth, it's good!
Take care!

ReplyDeleteBrave little kitties! And your garden is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThose sure are some dark clouds! I am glad you do get SOME rain out there in the desert - I had not realized July and August are "rainy season" though. How interesting.
ReplyDeleteIt rained here a lot today. I just stayed in bed.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are great and show the stages real well. We have had a lot of heavy rain here two the last few days and its also very humid and sticky, not nice. Stay dry and sleep it away my friends.. Hugs GJ xx
ReplyDeleteWow!! That is one tempestuous moonsoon!!
ReplyDeleteMe and Charlie think staying firmly indoors in such weather is a very sensible thing to do!! Yay!! take care
x
That is SO cool! We had 2.5 inches of rain here an its the most fer years (at once). Over flowed the rain gutters and that is rare!
ReplyDeleteOoh, that sky is creepy! Hope you get some relief like we do after the rain, though, maybe a breeze or two.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely garden outside!
Hugs,
Tom & Julie

When the weather is that scary, inside is a good place for kitties!!! Be brave and keep dry!
ReplyDeletexo Catherine
I think we'll stick with our boring hot and humid weather.
ReplyDeleteI hope the rains bring cooler air for you! Happy Sunday.
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,
Oskar
Maybe the rain will water the Georges and they'll grow all nice & plump for you!
ReplyDeleteYep, we often protect our dust bunnies under the bed when those boomies start!
ReplyDeleteYeah, what Brian said, gotta protect da inosent dust bunnies from da flashes and rumbles!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I'd be in the house as fast as I could, too...
ReplyDeleteOh boy that is sooo scary. I am really scared of thunder!
ReplyDeleteDark sky looks so scary too.
I am glad that most of you are bonkbonk fast to get into the house
bonks!

Happy Sunday to my fav Baker's Dz.
ReplyDeleteBoy blogger is a bogger today. We have had a time leaving comments we are getting 'service unavailable error 503' on some blogs and others are okey dokey.
As of an hour ago I couldn't even edit my own blog.
Rain oh boy we could use a week of it w/o the t and lightning. We had lots of bad quick short storms last week.
Hugs Madi and Mom
Felix, you're so brave!!
ReplyDeleteThose clouds look really mean...
Great Sunday for you all!
Ivy
Last night it was some thunder and heavy rain here too = GREAT !
ReplyDeleteIt has been really humid and hot here in south Sweden too.
Wow! Those are really cool pictures (and wet, too, I bet). I actually love thunderstorms. We have two story windows, and it's great to see the lightning bolts explode across the sky.
ReplyDeleteI guess when you're crazypants like Felix it amounts to the same as being brave. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt.
That's so cool...as long as I don't have to witness it in the fur...
ReplyDeleteI bet Figaro would be right there with Felix watching the show!
It's good you have a cozy dry place to escape the rain!
ReplyDeleteStay dry and safe.
We're not too crazy about thunder boomers either :/ Rain...we have it too often to worry about ,besides, we're indoor kitties ;)
ReplyDeleteThe hot & stickies, we don't get them too bad and usually for a short time :) Mom likes that!!
Take care!!!
Purrs Tillie and Georgia
We, and when I say we, I mean the furry kids, hate thunder around here too. And we've gotten a lot of it this year!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! Those storms are scary! We woulda been under the bed too!
ReplyDeleteWhen we get thunder and lightning, mum is more likely to hide than we are!
ReplyDeleteUTB is the only safe place. That sure was some bad clouds. We had a big rain Sunday too.
ReplyDeletexoxo Kassey
Interesting! It does get dark fast! Do you get any wind?
ReplyDeleteFelix what a brave fellow you are! haha!
