Kitties!
::meow::
The Baby here...again!
Since I'm the only kitty that goes Outside I get to show you around today. We've had lots and lots of rain, so everything is really blooming!
Oh, Mommy says that "lots and lots" of rain means about a half an inch. Normal rainfall for us is right around four inches a year.
Also, these photos are a couple weeks old because I was adventurous naughty and went wall walking the other day and I've been grounded to the house for a while.
Whatever.
Let's amble down the stepping stones...are you ready?
See Henry's Hut? He still comes in every night to eat.
Look at our lime lemon tree!
Daddy's been giving all our plants gallons and gallons of organic fertilizer, and the tree has over fifty lemons on it!
This makes Mommy very happy because she loves lemons.
The white lantana in the new corner garden has been struggling, but the rain will help perk it up.
The little plants made it through the HOTS so we know it's hardy. Our yard has drip irrigation and Daddy waters nightly, but when it's 110+ every afternoon for weeks the plants get a little droopy.
On my right paw is the big lantana garden.
This is where I hunt lizards!
I sit still and listen for them rustling...then I POUNCE. I also like to scuttle underneath the plants and freak Mommy out when she can't see me easily. heh heh.
We got a free packet of cosmo seeds last spring and Daddy scattered them in the lantana garden, not expecting much, but they came up!
Daddy can get practically anything to grow.
Say, does anybody know if cosmos are annuals or perennials?

ReplyDeleteYour garden is beautiful!! I love the stepping stones and Henry's Hut. :)
ReplyDeleteAll your blooms are so pretty. What gorgeous colors!
Baby, you're so lucky to have such a wonderful place. You be good! Oh, and you have a cute bum!
M here - I never thought I'd like AZ landscaping, but your's is just gorgeous. That I could live with (minus all the bugs and creepy crawlers. he he )
ReplyDeleteWe're sorry to hear you are a prisoner for now The Baby but hoepfully you get out again in your lovely garden again soon! We can't figure out why you'd want to leave the Lounge!
ReplyDeleteÄiti is jealous of your plants, especially the lantana. We love your lizard lair and are jealous of that. And some of us mancats are looking very hard at that picture of your behind, hehehe
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! Cosmos is an annual in northern areas - I don't know about southern deserts... At any rate, it seeds itself really well. The only problem is that flowers of plants from seed aren't as impressive or numerous. It's called "reverting to type", I think.
ReplyDeleteYou have such a beautiful place to hunt lizards in. I bet those flowers taste good too!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is SOOOO pretty. Pisi and Squeak, and their Big Two Legged One, would LOVE to go live in the desert!
ReplyDeleteMy human sees cosmos a lot in SoCal, so they are probably pretty hardy, as we are pretty dry here - although not nearly as hot as you guys!
ReplyDeletecute bum!
ReplyDeleteBad Whitey, Your backside is bummalicious! How delightful to see you two days running, and you look so CLEAN.
ReplyDeleteAh, da purrtiest flower of all 'Baby Bum'...hahahahaha
ReplyDeleteOh, we furgot, mom planted cosmos by da side fence here and dey was annuals but da ones by da house next to our bushes became perennials...go figger. Must be dat it is warmer by da house.
ReplyDeleteBeyootiful garden! Thanks fur the tour, Baby. We hopes you get "sprung" soon! xoxo
ReplyDeleteWhat a purretty garden. We have cosmos in our wildflower mix, so they must seed themselves.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful garden you have to play in. Lots of lovely bright colours. Mummy said she would love a lemon tree but it would have to live in the green house over here :)xx
ReplyDeleteprrr esss, you have a lovely bum hee he
Prisioner #47591 you have a pert bum :)

ReplyDeleteY'all come see us when you can.
Baby, your desert garden is amazing...and my mom is swooning over the lantana...she just loves it.
ReplyDeleteMom would love having a lime or lemon tree but we'd need a heated greenhouse for that. We'll just have to admire yours.
Purrs,
Jonesie

What a lovely garden...and a lovely Baby!!! MOL Sometimes mom wishes we had a yard - even though she is the proud owner of the deadly "black thumb" of gardening.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty yard you have! And your bottom is cute too! ;)
ReplyDeletexo Catherine
Your garden does look terrific. Good job Daddy and what fun to have all those lemons. We also really like the lantana. Don't know if the other is annual or if it comes back.Great pictues, thanks Baby for that tour.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a super day.
Cosmos are annual.
ReplyDeleteMom got some seeds from her brother in law when she & dad moved into this house 25 years ago. They were seed from his flowers. He said to collect the seeds every fall and sprinkle them on the dirt in the spring. So mom collects the seeds into an old Gerber baby food jar. They come up without fail. Ours are bright orange. No fade out here, even after over 25 generations!
Baby thanks for the tour, we...errr...ahhh....like your hinder!
Love the lizard patch! We wish we had one. Oh, you don't want to go walk on the wall too much...you might not get to ever go out in that wonderful garden again!
ReplyDeleteOh so pretty! Yes, cosmos are annuals. We like the last photo of you walking away.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had your Daddy's green fingers. I can't get anything to grow properly!
ReplyDeleteUh, why aren't the others allowed out in the garden?
Firstly, The Bum shot is too cute Baby so only right it has a caption. Secondly, I wish we only had four inches of rain each year! Oh how I wished I lived in the desert . . . . here in Ireland it feels like we have four inches of rain every day (and some!)
ReplyDeleteThe desert is beautiful when it rains
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks fabulous, and the lemons look so YUMMY!
ReplyDeletePurrs,

ReplyDeleteWe like the parting shot with your pink toes! I too love hiding and pouncing on the lizzardos.
That Woman had a cosmos thing once. My carefully placed erm... eliminations took care of it right off! heehee.
Miss Jack (our tuxie) wanted to mail you a file so you could escape but I had to explain that emailing an attachement was not the same thing. Bless her heart, she's not the brightest but we love her. (esp. her 'goth manicure')
xoxo

Wow! I never knew that gardens in desert country could have so many different types of flowers.
ReplyDeleteYou've done a marvelous job helping your Dad in the garden, The Baby! And I love your butt shot -- you never know where that one may end up!
There are both annual an perennial cosmos. But the annual ones are good reseeders, so it may not make much difference.
ReplyDelete4" of ran per year? Wow, we got almost twice that in 1 day last month. MOL!
How lovely to have your desert blooming all over!
ReplyDeleteGuess what? We commented on your Fairy Hobmother post & we've been granted our wish. We'll be using our money to buy food for Chloe & Moe our kitties since we got the wish granted thanks to all of you great kitties.
Nubbin wiggles,
Oskar

ReplyDeleteWe loves your flowers. Mum thinks the cosmos is an annual that re-seeds itself pretty much.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty sight... and you can pick lemons right outside your door, too. How great is that?!
ReplyDeleteI can't tell it's agrden in the desert !!! All trees and flowers look fabulous ! I just love the second photo : )
