Kitties!
Nurse Grayce here, with Breaking News!
Mommy fractured her kneecap!
In two pieces.
She's part of the lucky one percent of broken bone sufferers that have a busted patella. Furthermore, and even rarer, it's a vertical break. Which means it's not quite as serious and she still can move her lower leg up and down--although she's keeping her knee straight, for now. She's off work on workman's comp until (at the very least) she sees an orthopedic surgeon on Thursday. So much for working eighteen days in a row...
We have all been making total pests of ourselves nursing Mommy non-stop. She says it hardly hurts at all; however when she went to the human fix-it shop on Monday the repair lady there made her squeal like a little girl when she bent her knee past where it wanted to go. Three times. Which I feel makes up for the lack of Ye Olde Rectal Thermometer treatment.
The worst part of the whole situation is that our breakfasts are late again!
Mommy is LAME.
No really, she is.
Happy Wednesday!
XX Grayce XX
Your poor mommy! Take good care of her.
ReplyDeleteOh no! Poor Sheebie/Mommy! We know you kittehs will help nurse her back to health (so that she can feed you on time). :)
ReplyDeleteOh dirty words - sooooo sorry that you're broken - Astonished that you got into an ortho doc so soon - around here it would be three or 4 weeks! Good luck. T.
ReplyDeleteOUCH!
ReplyDeletePoor mommy.

Nice to be monitored by the faithful feline.
ReplyDeleteOh noes! Whatever will you do??? Who will hunt you down and talk crazy-lady talk to you? Who will FEED you? Who will set up taste-treat tests for you? Who will photograph your boxing matches???? It's an....an....OUTRAGE, that's what it is! She should have been more careful! Didn't she think of how this would impact the Kitties' quality of life??? Whait--what? Really, Human?? Do I haaaaaaave to? Oh all right then.
ReplyDeleteI'm-so-sorry-your-mommy-got-damaged-and-feels-all-hurty-and can't-really-serve-you-like-she-should.
There. That'll have to be good enough.
Poor mommy! She'll think twice about going off to work for 18 days in a row. We know you are taking very good care of her, but you have to expect things to be a little slow for a while.
ReplyDeleteOMC!!!! Good thing there are so many of you...considering that round the clock nursing duties is very difficult work...and requires lots of treats to keep up your strength.
ReplyDeleteWe are big believers in the power of the purr and we know the loving vibrations can help bones to heal. Your mom is in great paws with you.
We can teleport over for purring duty if you get tired.
xoxo Cory and family
Lame, like a horse??? Oh noes! We hope she is up and prancing around in no time flat. (and most impawtantly tending to your needs!) ((Hugs))
ReplyDeletePee Ess - my Mommy is very impressed that your Mommy has lovely clean-shaven legs, even though she is lame!
ReplyDeleteOuch! Keep up the good nursing duties!
ReplyDeleteYour Mommy has a naughty kneecap ? Just like me, Aila and my gf Maggie May had. Now we had to be operated on, have trendy bandages (which were horrible) and had to be nursed day and night while we got better. And there was no running or jumping for ages. Now we bravely coped, but your Mommy is crazypants so this will be a very difficult job. You guys have your work cut out for you. If you all take turns sitting on her that might stop the running and jumping, but what will you do about the thumbs she has ? They are needed for your services.
ReplyDeleteOh, and Äiti says 'get well soon'.
Huge purrs headed in Lounge Mommy's direction! We just know y'all will take most excellent care of her.
ReplyDeleteI often say humans are lame, but I did not realize yours would take my words literally! I hope her knee heals up soon!
ReplyDeleteBTW, my human echoes Prancer Pie's sentiment about the clean-shaven legs.
ReplyDeleteSending a lots of sympathy purrs and thoughts to your Mommy. Ours has heard that people can do without their patellae so don't surprised if the solution is just to take it away completely.
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes, the clean shaven legs are a thumbs up.
We hope you are all mended soon.
Oh no! So sorry you hurted your knee. At least you will have plenty of furry heating pads to comfort you.
ReplyDeleteAnd may I say, in addition to being beautifully shaven as mentioned above, that is one nice shapely leg you've got there, Missy! Hope both of them are soon back in working order.
Our mommy says she feels your mommy's pain.... literally! She had a root canal done, and the pain is killing her! :(
ReplyDeleteOh geez--this is the first I've read of your busted mommy. It's awfully nice of you guys to take such good care of her!
ReplyDeletePee Ess: we hope your Mommy is doing all the medical through W.C. according to her work referrals.
ReplyDeleteOh noes! Ouch, ouch, ouch! We're sending our best healing purrs to your mom, hoping her presumably impending surgery and recovery will be swifter than the average. Paws crossed!
