Tasty Tuesday

Kitties!

The Baby here.
Man, did we win the bonus round this past weekend:

The peeps went grocery shopping and came home with a new nifty box (score!)...

AND...

...a broasted chicken!

Mommy eats the drummers, Daddy eats the wings and a breast, and we get the remainder!
Not all at once, but still.  Broasted chicken, pals.  Broasted chicken.

*YUM*

Happy Tuesday!

Mystery Monday

Kitties!

We got a package on Caturday...
It was big and heavy and shaped like a loaf of bread!

THIS intriguing object was one of the things inside...any guesses?

Leave us a comment!

Thankful Thursday

Kitties!

Mommy got a surprise in the mail...two books about FINLAND, of all places.

There was no note or card in the package, so she's totally stumped!

What we're wondering is why on Earth she got these books in the first place.  She's not leaving us, is she?  Wait a minute...didn't we see a new suitcase in the closet?

This could be bad, kitties...

To my Mystery Book Benefactor:  Thank you so much for the gift!  Much appreciated and both Scott and I are enjoying them--we read snippets back and forth all last night.  I appreciate your thoughtfulness, whoever you are!
XOXO Trish

Shopping Trip

Kitties!

Johnny here.

Last week Daddy averted a potentially Very Serious situation...he went to the pet store and bought cat litter!
Four bags.*

Naturally he came home with a little something extra for me us--there were some cat trees on clearance--and Daddy can't say no to either a deal or his fur kids.**
The middle level is purrfect for a Cat My Size.

Although...on second thought...does this bed make my feets look big?

Happy Thursday!

Special Delivery

Kitties!

Felix here.

I was cruising on the Catio when Mommy tossed something out the door.
I went to investimigate...you never can tell what she's up to.

It was a box!

I decided to give it a whirl...the verdict?

Excellent for whisker hump massage!

Happy Thursday!

Even MOAR Fun!

Kitties!

The Baby here.

First things first:  Our new gadget, the ultra-cool bottle brush cheek and whisker-scratcher doodad is properly called "The Purrfect Arch", and Mommy found a link for it on Amazon:  Purrfect Arch

Now, on to more important business--my post!

After Mommy set up the arch I had a nice rub on the bristles and ate some catnip (see it on the floor?) but there was something even more enticing that I had to explore.
Can you guess what that was?

It was the box our pressies came in!

Our cousin Luci-fur sure knows how to pick a good box; this one had all sorts of intriguing smells and the tape was delectable.

It was comfortable, too, cradling my behind in a gentle, yet firm embrace.
Highly satisfactory!

Kitties--the fun continues!

Stay tuned...

Happy Wednesday!

A Sssssnakey Ssssssstory

Kitties!

You all sure had on your Smarty Pants yesterday--indeed, that was a snake skin that Felix was smelling!
Mommy found it at work the other night and brought it home for us to maul investigate.

Our Mommy--we don't care what people say--she's alright.

We were fascinated by the snake skin!  Since we've lived here we've caught (and brought indoors--ed.) two small sidewinder rattlesnakes but for some reason the peeps start screaming and running for brooms and boxes won't let us give 'em a thorough investigation.  Talk about a buzz kill.

So we were thrilled to check out the next best thing--the snake's overcoat!  Although Rupert was a wee bit freaked out by it...but he was rescued from the Outside so maybe he had a bad time with a snake before.

Sweet Pea and CC loved it...Miss Pea was leaping and swatting at it the minute Mommy brought it in the house, so much so that Mommy had to store it in the closet until photo time!

Johnny, on the other paw, was not as enthusiastic.

The skin was over three feet long, and very slender, all the way down to the tip, so this wasn't a rattlesnake skin--more likely a bull snake, which are non-venomous.  (Mommy sees those all the time at work.)

See Felix?  He thundered down the tree, in hot pursuit.

And this is the last photo of the skin in it's entirety!  Mommy suspects quite a bit of it "went down" in the night as there were large sections missing the next day, but we're not telling.

Interestingly, the same evening that Mommy found the snake skin at work she discovered a medium-sized live rattler when she was out doing a plant check.  So, per usual she went and got the snake pole to move it into the desert...picture this:  cell phone in one hand, pole in the other, and a sidewinder ten feet away.  Unfortunately for you guys, common sense over-rode her desire to document the event, so we don't have any footage to show you of an angry rattler...and according to Mommy he was pretty pissed off about being moved.
Oh well...at least we got a skin.

Happy Thurssssssday!
