Moaning Mancatz Monday

Kitties!

Rupert and Johnny here.

As many of you guessed, we were at the Ebil Vet's Office in Friday's Post.  For some reason the peeps thought we had stinky breafs (the nerve!) and dirty teef...and they were prepared to pay beaucoup green papers to make those two things go away.

We had some thoughts about the car ride:

And once we were incarcerated in the office we attempted Invisibility, to no avail.

Sad to report, it really went downhill from there...we were cat-handled into the back where our bloods were stolen, we were sequestered and starved overnight, and, in the morning, whilst weak from loss of blood and lack of sustenance the Vet slipped us a Mickey and knocked us out cold!  What happened after that we're not quite sure but when we came to our teefs were sparkling (NO extractions!) our claws were trimmed down to nubbins and our anal glands seem oddly empty...as was Mommy's checking account, heh heh heh.

But NOT empty enough, apparently--Felix and The Baby are up next week!

At least we're done, thank Cod.

Happy Monday!

Well, sort of...

Happy Humpday!

pee ess:  I have an irritated bladder, and it's all Mommy's fault!  She went away and made me all nervous and stuff.  I'll be fine...when I'm darn good and ready, that is.

Oh Cod, oh Cod, oh Cod...

Kitties!

Grizz and Grayce here...
NOT in our house!

Yes, we were quickly inserted stuffed flailing into our Prison Transport Units this afternoon and hauled off to the vet for check-ups.

One of us didn't mind, and one of us did; can you guess who was which?

Naturally, we sang The Song of Our People in the car:

Mommy here:  The Baby is doing great!  She is fat-n-sassy at 8 pounds 15 ounces, up from 7 pounds 4 ounces this time last year.  Her regimen of prednisolone every other day is working beautifully on her IBD.  The vet said her innards felt pliable and healthy again, and her teeth and weight are ideal.
Grayce is a different story, though.  She's down to just a smidge over 5 pounds and her diarrhea is now constant with occasional blood.  This past week she's been in the litter box more than out of it--and showing signs of being in pain.  She's starting on a liquid formulation of pred and meds to firm up her stools, and the vet is optimistic that this should help Grayce.  I sure hope so, the poor thing leaves poop marks almost everywhere she sits from her watery bowels.  It won't be a permanent cure, eventually her lymphoma will win but maybe we still can buy a little quality time together.  Grayce is still feisty and full joi de vie so all Scott and I can do is medicate and keep an eye on her, and consider every day a bonus...

And feed the both of them all the Gerber's and poached chicken they can hold--two jars and an entire breast a day!  Little pigs.

WHO ARE YOU CALLING "PIGS" MOMMY!!!!?????

Happy Thursday!

TREACHERY.

Kitties!

Maui here.
Do I look disgusted in this photo?

I do?

Well, I am...let me tell you the Terrible Thing(s) that happened to me today!

I got had to go to the vet...TWICE.

Yes.  You read that correctly...TWO TIMES.

TWO car rides in one day!!

The first time wasn't too bad cos there was over an hour wait to see the vet (they don't take appointments) and Mommy opted to bring me back later.  So we were in and out.  However, on the car ride over--which lasts centuries 12 minutes tops --while I was loudly singing the Song of My People Mommy decided to sing along with me, and kitties, it was terrible.  Not only is her accent awful but she sang a song I'd never heard before--by some group called The Police--called Sending out an S.O.S. which she claimed was entirely appropriate for the situation.
 pffffft!

So, when we got home Mommy got busy and I was hopeful she'd forget the whole idea of going back; it was just a check-up after all, but no such luck.  Later in the afternoon she stuffed me back into the PTU* and we left for the vet, AGAIN.

So I sang, AGAIN.  Thankfully solo, albeit a little hoarser than the first time.

It was deserted at the vet's office so I was allowed out of the PTU to huddle on Mommy's lap investimigate the waiting room.  I may or may not have purred up a storm in the exam room, and loved up the nice vet tech while she weighed me (17.75 pounds!), I'll never tell...but of course Mommy persisted in her treacherous ways and videoed me.

The sound isn't the greatest but you can at least see me talking...

At least I did NOT have to endure the Invasion of the Dreaded Thermometer!

I was pronounced hale and hearty and good to go for another year.
I could have told 'em that, but did anybody ask me?
Nooooooooo!
*hmph*

Happy Friday!
