Hee Hee!
We Girls have something Funny to tell you about our Mommy!
She's a Cat-Sniffer.
You heard right...she Sniffs Cats. Right in the scruff of their necks. And not just us...any "foreign" cat she get a hold of gets a good Sniff, too! Mommy doesn't remember when she started...and she sees no reason to stop. (And she could stop anytime, really.) She says that we "smell so good" and keeps on sniffin! Hey, it doesn't hurt anybody...
Apparently we Cats have different enough smells that even HER poorly equipped nose can tell us apart. Yes, if she was blindfolded she'd be able tell us apart in just one Sniff...and NOT by bum-scent, like we do.
Mommy claims that Cat-Sniffing is very relaxing. If she has trouble sleeping, she'll grab one of us to snuggle and bury her nose into our scruff. One or two good "drags" and she's off to la la land. If she has a hectic day, we meet her at the door and present neck for her endorphin rush Sniff.
Do any of your Mommies or Daddies Cat-Sniff? Inquiring minds want to know!
xx Lounge Kats
Our Mom is a bit of a sniffer, but we're not sure if she could tell us apart by our scents. She thinks Deli smells like cinnamon and I smell like bananas...we think she's a little crazy.

Our the Mom does a lot of hugging and snorgling. She says that it's very relaxing for her.
ReplyDeleteGuilty, I love smelling the soft fur and I don't know how or why but you guys always smell clean. Love your blog. Deb =^..^=x6 + 2 comin' for awhile to board (should be interesting)
ReplyDeleteOur mom is guilty too. She can tell Skeeter and Cricket apart, but King and Pandora, NOPE! She says it must be the Arm & Hammer litter deodorizer she puts in our pottybox.
ReplyDeleteOur human does that a bit--she's definitely a bury-her-face-in-our-fur kind of person. She used to be able to smell our clean, fresh scent, but she lost her sense of smell some years ago. She never could distinguish us by smell, though.
ReplyDeleteOf xourse we're all sniffers; you smell good!
ReplyDeleteHi all you Lounge Kats!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are all my BFF thanks for saying I look thin....I'm starting to worry you see I have my annual in a few months...last year it was suggested that I was getting close to being called a Plus size girl...HA!!
Moms weird habit is rubbing my,as she calls them, velvety ears. Well you Kats know we Kats can only take so much stimulation before we strike out. MOL.
Madi
What wonderful photos!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOur mama tries to sniff us, but then our long furs get on her nose and she starts sneezing......and I dislike when she sneezes and I start meowing at her. :)
xxxxxxx

The Woman doesn't sniff. She can tell by feel or sound who is who though.
ReplyDeleteWell, a good whiff is hard to come by sometimes!
ReplyDeleteWell, our mom and our dad have been known to sniff us on occasion but we are positive they can't tell us apart. Usually they will just say something about how we smell like cat fur. Of course, our reaction is "duh, we are cats with fur".
ReplyDeleteMom can't smell but she has Pop sniff us to see is we are healthy - we smell real good when we are in tip top shape and not so good when we aren't feeling great. We don't know why our blog reader doesn't post the newest posts - it doesn't work for us either. Any ideas anybody?

Our Mum says we smell lovely and fresh when he have been in the garden but she doesn't sniff us!
ReplyDeleteThe PM is a sniffer too. Nothing beats a good whiff!!
ReplyDeleteMy Mommeh likes to smell my furs after I have groomed them. She says it smells fresh and kind of soapy!
ReplyDeleteOh man, our mom is an ear sniffer! She does smell furs sometimes, but da ears, she sez our ears are purrfume! We've said it afore, we'll say it again...hoomans is weerd.
ReplyDeleteAwwwww I like how your mum says she can be blindfolded and know each of your scents! That's so amazing!
ReplyDeleteNow that really is a talent!
Me and Charlie are impressed!
:-)
Take care

absolutely love the smell of my fur babies :). They smell good and their fur feels so soft :).
ReplyDeleteYes! Truth be told, our Mom is a major neck & belly sniffer. She wakes up in the middle of the night, can't sleep, calls Tannie Man ... Sniffs his neck or floofy tummy and off to LaLaLand she goes. Blackie smells quite nice too we hear. And even Daisy Jiji ... Who purrs when she gets a neck sniffy!
ReplyDeleteLittle Bunny & Miss Simba want no part of sniffing ... From anyfurrson or other. Well ... Except LB like the bitey on the neck from Blackie ... That's a whole nother story.
Purrzzz,
WCT ... The Mom
My Momma is a kisser. She kisses me on top of my head all the time. I indulge her. But none of the other cats in the house will allow her to give them kisses. What can I say? I'm the most kissable!

We get lots of hugs and kisses every day; our Mommy says she can't get enough of us and she LOVES the way we smell=YES, we admit it, our Mommy is a cat sniffer too and proud of it!!hehe...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
ReplyDeleteMy mom sniffs me and Caroline--no one else will really let her. But you know what my mom really loves? The smell of baby baby cats!
ReplyDeleteVery impressive that your mom can tell you all apart just by sniffing! Our mom loves to sniff us too. She says we always smell so clean and fresh.
ReplyDeleteOur mom sniffs us sometimes...but what's really fun is that she likes to kiss me on the lips!! And I love when she does that!
ReplyDeleteVery cool that your mom can actually tell you all apart by the way you smell!!
Wally
Yep, our mom is a neck sniffer!!
ReplyDeleteMum sniff us all the time, but not other kitties.
ReplyDeleteIf that woman even tried to sniff me....well, let's just say we'd have a problem. (Correction: **She'd** have a problem. **I'd** be just fine.)
ReplyDeleteNo sniffin here but that is really cute!
ReplyDeleteWell... Ours does sometimes sniff the base of our tails (above, not below)! He says he can tell if we are feelin well that way. We can too, jus surprised HE can.
ReplyDeleteOne of my staff people is a sniffer. She started sniffing when I accidentally lost some toenails (to see if my foot was infected), and she sniffs my ears, too. She also makes fart-noises in my belly furs, which is totally rude and obnoxious.
