Kitties!
Rupert here.
So yesterday we had a lot of comments asking how Mommy and Daddy can tell us apart.
The short answer is that sometimes they can't!
But we are different.
I'm on the left. I have almost an Oriental build, I'm very long and lean with a wedge-shaped head, whereas Grayce is much smaller with a round face. I have grey-on-grey striping and Grayce does not.
Grayce's coat is matte, mine is shiny. Her fur is plush, and mine lays close to my hide.
We both have mauve paw pads, and we both are big talkers.
My favorite toy is a milk jug ring, and Grayce loves her pink sparkle ball.
I have big radar dish ears.
Grayce's ears are short and rounded.
See how small her muzzle is? That helps her give an super-efficient bitey. And if there's one thing Grayce likes to do, it's bite. Hard. And often.
Yesterday she had CATNIP on her chin!
Can you tell who is who?
I'm the one on top.
Mommy says Grayce's tail is "stubby", ha ha ha ha!
Mine is long and has stripes.
As do my legs...HEY!
How did this picture get in here!?!
MOMMY!!!!!!
Happy Sunday!
XX Rupert (and Grayce, too!)
Oh wow, this was SO great! Our BFF, The Admiral, is going to have a ton of fun with this one. You know how in love she is with you, Rupert. Oh yes, and she's been pining away for days because she's had no headbonks from you lately. Just a heads up; my Sam says sometimes you mancats need a little reminder.
ReplyDeleteYou and Grayce are super fine looking furs. Sam said Grayce can give him a little nip anytime. HA. He says that, but I'm going to put a short leash on him 'cause he's just getting too out of hand around all these girlcats.
Ok, our mom is calling us to bed. Gotta go!
xoxox
You could be so naughty and blame each other for things and really confuse everyone. And if you everyone could have had kittens. ........
ReplyDeleteThat is very helpful for trying to tell you apart in pictures. YOu both are great gray kitties!
ReplyDeleteYay, I was able to tell it was Grayce with the catnip yesterday! See, you humans think kitties with the same color fur all look alike, but WE know the difference!
ReplyDeleteThe Human says Grayce is like her wonderful Kitty Who Came Before named Mr. Teeth. He was lots bigger and fatter (hey--that's not nice!) but he had the same very soft and plush, matte-finish furz and such a sweet little round face!
ReplyDeleteMommy still had to stare to tell which was which. But she did purrty much catch on and got it in da end.
ReplyDeleteNow we figured it out too! Thanks for pointing out your differences Rupert! Our Mommy and Daddy had a very talkative grey kitty who came before us named Reebok. She looked a lot like you Rupert so Mommy will remember which one of you two is you!
ReplyDeleteRupert, Thanks a lot for this !
ReplyDeleteHee..hee..hee...But I'm not sure Grayce is satisfy your explanation. Look at her face at Photo no.3....MOL
xxxx
Yep--I can see differences. Sometimes people don't even see differences between Ichiro and I--as IF!
ReplyDeleteThe differences are subtle & beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,
Oskar
LOOKIN' GOOD!!! (I am partial to the color gray...)I thinks I should visit the Lounge someday and make it even more confusing! I likes the part about "big radar dish ears", theese one is a good one!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see your comparisons!!! I always get you two mixed up in your photos! Thanks for this, I have some items of difference to look for!
ReplyDeleteSo, when we wanna tell ya apart, we throw a toy, right? Or measure yer tails. MOL!
ReplyDeleteIts like having identicacal Meezers. ;)
Seeing you side by side, I can tell the difference. When you're apart... not so much.
ReplyDeleteYou both are adorable!I think it's so nice to have someone by our side, with happy energy, a brother, a friend, to share our moments!Lucky you !
ReplyDeletepurrs
Luna
You two are both so beautiful. Simba has a girlfriend called Cassie who is the same colour as you two. Mummy says to tell your mummy that she got her blingy mousey from a shop called Next. She has a new one ready to use cause I sort of nibbled the wire a bit. This one is a big blingy strawberry! xx
ReplyDeleteOh wow!! Me and Charlie were both wrong and right!! LOL!!! Awww gorgeous Grayce and adorable Rupert!!! Thank your lovely mum for showing us what makes you both very unique and utterly adorable!!! Oh but when you are both together - it's a double bundle of amazing grey furrs!! Wow!!!
ReplyDeleteMe and Charlie will now study these pics! :-) Take care
x
Rupert, you are one fine specimen of man cat. I got to see those stripes close up and curled around me when you came over with your stethoscope, MOL. Woo Woo ding dong ding!!!
ReplyDeleteHey, I love to give the Bitey, too and I got a small muzzle. There definitely must be a correlation there!
ReplyDeleteLOL! We love this post and especially Rupert's face in the first picture!
ReplyDeleteThose are all great pictures! Yep, you are different, but you are both very beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful kitty faces. I love reading about contented cats. And it is so clear that yours are. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen you point out your differences we can see them but then we get muddled up and can't remember whose tail is longer who's got the biggest ears!!
ReplyDeleteMOL! Sometimes the beans have trouble telling Thomas and Charlie apart. That's why we have different colour collars on, for quick identification
ReplyDeleteOh that was cool learning the differences between you! All of us are very different, although sometimes in photos people can confuse me and Nigel. In furperson, Nigel is twice my size and mom says his face is beefier, whatever that means!
ReplyDeletexoxo Cory
Ooops! I thought that was Rupert with the catnip on his chin yesterday.
ReplyDeleteLove the super close up... And now I'll never mix you and grayce up ever again.
ReplyDeleteWe see the difference now!!! I will look for your stripy tail Rupert as an identifying feature from now on :-) I hope little Jimmy grows up into a beautiful big gray just like both of you!
ReplyDeleteIt's really easy when you explain it, but at first glance we can see how it would be hard.
ReplyDeleteWe often get asked how we tell Ellie and Allie and Angel Sniffie apart. Mom says that it's easy but most other people can't tell until we show them our "distinguishing" marks. Thanks for showing us yours.
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids and Angel Sniffie
Rupert, I fink we might be twins seperated at birf. I look rather Oriental and I'm very long and lean with a wedge-shaped head. I have grey-on-grey striping and a stripey tail and I even have secret stripes on my legs! my coat is VERY shiny an' I have RADAR-DISH ears. An' I love my mommy lots. So I fink we're twins!
ReplyDeleteAlfie xxxxx
What a wonderful post about you, Rupert, and your sister Grayce. We love all the pictures.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday and much love from us.
Thanks for sharing that info - I was curious about that too. Looks like you two are more different than I thought!
ReplyDeleteGREY is the best color!
ReplyDeleteMandu
I love Grayce, but like a sizter. My mama sayz we look like twins right down to the short tail and snout. Mama sayz my tail is only 9 inchz long. I think that's just perfect cuz I'm short. Mama sayz my biologcl mom was a tiny sighmez and that's y I look like me. I bet Grayce is part sighmez like me.
ReplyDeleteLove Kiefer
PS: My brofur Andy looks like Rupert. My mom doesn't ever get us mixed up except when she yells the wrong name when we are being nawty.
We LOVE that first picture of you, Rupert!
ReplyDeleteGO BEARS!!!
hey thanks for the info on how to tell you two apart. While I will remember I don't know if Pellie will - she's old you know and has something called part timers disease.
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Genghis
Rupert and Grayce...you are both gorgeous...Mom loves gray kitties...LOL. That was the only requirement she had when they went to find a kitty....aka Me!!!
ReplyDeleteAs for there being two divas here Dad is used to it...you see I have a human sissy who was the first Diva...so Dad just deals..MOL When she and her hubby were here at Christmas, I hissed at her when we passed on the steps...SHE HISSED back!! Have you ever?
Hugs Madi
Cool! Thank you for showing us! It is always interesting to notice the differences when one is so like another. Mom used to work with a set of twin in her classroom. First off she noticed one of them had a mole on his face and the other didn't.
ReplyDeleteI think I can tell you apart--my human Tommy on the other hand, had to re-arrange her reading glasses!! Nice lookin' kitties all around.
ReplyDeleteNoir
XXooxx
We can see the differences now. We didn't know you had rings on your tail.
ReplyDeleteThank you for that lesson! We're glad others had the same question. We figured you probably both had different personalities and that your furs probably felt different, too, but we really didn't see much of a different in your photos! However, with that tutorial, now we have guidelines to follow. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteAll you kitties are so beautiful ~ I would love to sit right in the middle of your cat room and watch and play with you all! Isn't it amazing how all kitties have different personalities ~ that's what make you all so special! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely Sunday evening to you all!
xo Catherine
Well, thank you for clearing that up, Rupert. Now that you point out the differences between you and Grayce, we can tell you apart...but don't test us!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, y'know what?? We can see up your nose in that first picture! Heehee!!
OH... I am totally in love with that first picture of Rupert. Love kitty noses! *smooches!*
ReplyDeleteSorry but our Packers bean Da Bears. It is our year!
