Kitties!
My name is Rupert, and I am a Rootaholic.
Valerian Root, that is.
Mommy purchases it for us, by the POUND, and Daddy sprinkles it around for us to enjoy.
It comes from an online store called Frontier Natural Products Co-Op.
The link to the Root we love is HERE.
I love the stinky feet smell.
I love the stinky feet taste.
It makes me so crazypants that Daddy can't get a clear photo!
I can't eat it fast enough.
I open my mouth WIDE to gobble it down.
EXTREME CLOSE UP!!!!
I foam and dribble in ecstasy.
I'm a tiny bit embarassed that you all saw me like this...but not enough to stop.
I can stop any time--in fact, I DO stop.
Mainly because I can't get the lid off the jar...
Happy Sunday!
XX Rupert the Rootaholic
Nip is strong enough. We arent sure about this Root stuff!
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this as a cat treat. Does it mae them as silly as catnip does? Or does it make them relax after ingesting it all? Sounds like an interesting idea to try out...especially if they eat it all up rather than leaving little bits all over the floor (which is what happens when we give out dried catnip...little trails all over the place!)
ReplyDeleteMaybe we'll have to get some of this for our kitties. We just grew them some oat grass.
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,
Oskar
Oh that tongue!!!!! Squeeeeee!
ReplyDeleteI mean doesn't that mean you don't have a problem if there are times when you don't have it because you can't get the lid off the jar?
ReplyDeleteI have never had valerian root. Rupert, you have me convinced that I am TOTALLY missing out!
ReplyDeleteLove the extreme close up. You can even see the tiny barbs on the tongue!
ReplyDeleteRupert; your name is waaaaay cool by the way. Your steely gun metal grey color is quite 007! Accented by two purrrfectly gorgeous green eyes i think I'm feelin faint and it ain't the root!
ReplyDeleteI'll have That Woman bookmark the root page & order us some when she gets paid next.
Thanks for the referral of the pusher...er... supply!
xoxo
Ms. Stella O'Houligan
Fantastic photos. We haven't had such stinky fun powder -Äiti cannot get it here she says. But it looks awesome - smothering your tongue hairs. *jealous*
ReplyDeleteSo does the stinky smell bother the humans? Or is it only obvious close-up?
ReplyDeletewow your tongue is huge and cute! Hmmm I'm curious about the smell and the taste!Looks yummy!
ReplyDeletepurrs and a lovely Sunday for you all
Luna
It's okay Rupert. It's good to admit your problems.
ReplyDeleteRupert...you showed the tongue you groom me with...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and ever so erm.. high Rupert!!!! Me and Charlie wish we too could have some of that tasty scrummy root so we'd see yellow and blue and pick and green circles.. no wait!!! We see these on your blog page already!!! Yay!!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your root gorgeous Rupert - may Daddy keep the root flowing!! Take care
x
WHOA! I need to get me some of that stuff!
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a post, Rupert! We don't know whether to cheer or call for help!
ReplyDeleteWe asked mum about this and she said she didn't know that cats liked valerian root and she hadn't seen any. We think she may have a secret stash that she's keeping for herself!!
ReplyDeletehee hee hee what a silly boy. I'm not a fan of catnip but maybe I should try this, Rupert seems to like it.
ReplyDelete"root-a-holic" lol. Did you catch the new show called "Must Love Cats" on the Animal Planet last night? They had a hugely informative and entertaining segment about catnip farms that exist in the Pacific Northwest. I learned soooo much that I hadn't known before.
ReplyDeleteWow, Rupert, you sure do like your root! I love that stinky feet smell too. I'm gonna get Mama to check out that web site.
ReplyDeleteHey Rupert a kittie has to do what a kittie has to do regardless if there is a flashie box around. Don't fret as we all have been caught in this type of situation before. I am glad that you enjoy your root stuff so much! Life is good, no life is great!
ReplyDeletehahahaaa - we are amazed at your passion for the root and have instructed Mrs H to investigate this for US! Lovely post and thanks for visiting us, we value you popping by. Love Darcy, Bingley, Helen xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm with the -Chans, Rupert! I'm not sure whether to stage an intervention or jump in and join you! I've instructed my staff to check on this Valerian Root for my inspection.
ReplyDeleteGreat tongue shots, Rupert :). We prefer nip over valerian, but that's just us (and also mainly becuase mom doesn't like the stinky feet smell...) have a great Sunday!
ReplyDeletePip, Smidgen, Minnie, and Hollie
That looks soooooo good. We have never had pure root, but our plague ratsie is stuffed with a mixture of nip and valerian and I love it. Even Eric who doesn't do nip like the smell of the valerian.
ReplyDeleteFlynn
Goodness we need to get our assistant to get us some of that stuff. Sure does make you silly Rupert. But I bet we would be even sillier. Thanks for the link. Have yourselves a super Sunday.
ReplyDeleteThat stuff looks good Rupert! Are you the only Rootaholic in the Lounge?
ReplyDeleteOf course Donkey's fall in love but the darn lady donkeys are very scarce around here.
ReplyDeleteHi Rupert...my name is Madi and I'm a Katnip Lounge-a-holic. Great tongue action too
ReplyDeleteHugs Madi
My goodness, that must be some pretty intense stuff!
ReplyDeleteI'd get some for the boyz but I'm not sure we need something else that smells like stinky feet in our house.
ReplyDeleteRupert
ReplyDelete*mol*
We think you rather enjoyed that root!!
Rootatoot Rupert!
purrin
xoxox
I didn't know that. Must try it some time, if SS will get it for me. Perhpas she wouldn't, if it smells like stinky feet.
ReplyDeleteHmm, we'z neffur hadded dat root afore. We really like honeysuckle tho, it makes us all mellow and stuff. We do love da smell of feet too, might be fun to try some of dat stuff.
ReplyDeleteWe love your blog!!! Hugs from Brazil!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your nice comment on my blog. I hope your mom will be okay, and I hope you all enjoy my books!
ReplyDeleteYour Friend,
Quasi
hmmmmmmmmmm I't totally a nip head, but maybe it is time for something stronger. Maybe nip is my gateway herb into valarien root...
ReplyDeletei wonder if I can get the credit card outta mommy's purse...
Hey, I can't get stoopid blogger to add your blog address as a link! Isn't that bizarre? Mommy is going to try again tomorrow.
Love the extreme close up!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've never had any of that stuff before, but that is some recommendation!
ReplyDeleteOh Cod. Now I suppose the Admiral is going to forget all about me.
ReplyDeleteWe think there's an intervention in your future, Rupert.
ReplyDeleteRupert, if you could stretch that tongue any longer, it would reach China! Oh my cod, you are so addicted! (I want some) Do you worry? (I want some NOW). Maybe it only "seems" addicting (that's what I'll tell Mom). Yep, that's settled, I'm going to ask Mom to ck it out :D All that happiness should really be passed around!
ReplyDeletexoxoxo
Is it better than nip?
ReplyDeleteLovely pics! Thanks for your kind words about Au. We will make sure his last days are happy, and we won't let him suffer.
ReplyDeleteWe've never heard of Valerian root as a kitty treat. There is a holistic shop in town that sell all kinds of roots and stuff. Mom said she'll see if they have it there. If not, then she'll order us some. She's wondering if the few of us who don't like nip might like this instead.
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Clarissa & Co.
Yes...we like it too, as well as stinky socks! But Teri hasn't never caught it on film like this!
