ManCat Monday FAIL

Kitties!

Scouty here.
The OK Cats commented yesterday that they didn't see ME with any Bunny Ears on in Sunday's post.  Well, that doesn't mean Mommy didn't try.

She did.

The first thing she did when she got home (before torturing my other furblings) was sneak up on me while I was sleeping.

Then...SHE TOUCHED ME!
In fact, Mommy petted me for a couple of minutes, while I snoozed.  I thought I was having a really nice dream involving pretty LadyCats so I didn't mind.  I stretched out long, turned over, and then, ::HORRORS::  I woke up.

There were no pretty LadyCats, only that touchy-feely troll Mommy in awful overalls!
I leaped up and hissed a mighty hiss.

Then I kept a close eye on Mommy, because basically she's untrustable.  She could have that stew pot ready and waiting for me anywhere, anytime.

Kitties, I learned something yesterday; there are WORSE things than the stew pot!
Now I have TWO things to worry about.

Like real fake Bunny Ears.

Whew, dodged a bullet there.

Happy Monday!

XX  Scouty  XX

Note from Mommy:  Scouty is veryveryVERY soft and silky!  I got in a good minute of flank and tummy rubbins before he came to and freaked out.  One of these days I'm just gonna grab him and MAKE him love pettings.  In full leather and a face mask.

  2. Oh pal - you really have to watch out for sneaky oomans. They come from out of no where!

  3. Oh wow, Scouty, I am glad you escaped a Fate Worse Than Being Stewed!

  4. Scouty, when are the humans going to learn that WE decide when the petting begins and ends!

  5. Oh My Dear Scouty, I'm so very sorry that psycho woman got you all hissed off. It's so mean when they do things like that! I mean what the heck? They give you a bit of food and they think they OWN you after that! Sheesh! Glad you showed her by flying off and I'm sure you immediately cleaned with all vigorousness that spot where she *gasp* touched you!

    xoxo

  8. Were you dreaming of us Scouty before you got interrupted by that touchy feely troll Mommy in overalls? We think she's a pretty nice Mommy so one of these days you might actually enjoy being petted by her. Just be sure to not let your guard down especially around stew pots or fake bunny ears!

  9. You look a bit like Sherpa the Farm Cat. Maybe you are cousins. But Sherpa loves to be petted. I don't think he would wear ears though...

  10. You know, sometimes it's worth the wait... I'm just saying...

  12. Ya know what, mommy hadda wait almost 13 years fur Zippy to come around. Now she will sit on da table in front of mom and let her rub her ears an cheeks and pet all da way down her back. And mommy can pick her up and hold her fur, like, almost 45 seconds afore she goes nuts and tries to bite her. Oh, and she sez Zippy has bunny soft furs and dat after she haf given herself a baf she smells a little bit like Chanel #5, which is some kinda foofoo stuff ladies put on to smell purrty!

  13. Scoutey, Scoutey, Scoutey! What a lucky escape you had! I can't believe that evil people sneakied up on you and encouraged you to dream of nice things... Was it me?... While she was softening you up for a stew pot with bunny ears on! That's more than mean. That's pure, unadulterated evil! I hope you put your claws and teeth to good use as soon as you realised her duplicity. I mean, she tortured you with that treat box, and now she expects you to want lovin' from her when you know full well it will lead to peoples eating up your tummy? What does she take you for!

  16. Scouty, theese was right on the money that you ran from theese bunny ears but buddy, I got to tell you that you are missing out big time on tummy rubs. They really is fabulous. (Did the Manny tell you bedtime stories involving "stewpots" when you was little?)

  17. OK Scouty. We're with you 100 and some percent on the bunny ears, but what's with the cuddles? You're missing out, big guy!

    Purrs,
    The Chans

  18. I can understand you running from the ears. Although I might have given them a try. You should enjoy the rubbings though. Your mummy would thoroughly enjoy it :) xx

  19. Austin's with you on this one Scouty. Just a suggestion of bunny ears and Mama would be shredded!!!!

  20. It took Baby two months to stop growling and accepts pets when we moved in with Mom. Mom's dad thought she'd made a terrible decision adopting us because of Baby, but Mom knew Baby would come around.

  21. Hi Scouty! We wud object to bunny ears too ~ unless mom or dad was wearing them!!!

We hope yoo all had a super Easter.

    Love Milo and Alfie xx

  22. Scouty, that picture of you totally out of there when the rabbit ears appeared. Believe me, we would all do the same. Our Mom knows bettter than to even think those kind of thoughts with most of us. There are one or two of us that do that stuff but not often. Good job Scouty escaping.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Scouty, you're something else. You're one smart orange boy for avoiding the bunny ears. Marmie pulls that costume crap on my on Halloween and Christmas. It's totally humiliating!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Scouty perhaps you ought to have the full leather gear on so your mommy can't get at your beautiful, thick and luscious furs.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

  26. WOW! All in all you did real good getting out of that one!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Wow, we're glad you made it out with no bunny ears, Scouty!

We think your furs look very soft and we can see why your Mom tries to steal pets!

    ReplyDelete
  28. You are one smart cat ~ no fooling you!! But I think you would look extra cute with those bunny ears on!!! :)

  29. Oh my goodness! We can't believe you hissed at your mom for pets!!!! sheesh! But at least you missed the ear torture!

  30. Scouty...the Stew Pot is always a glaring reality! I have SEEN that stew pot mySELF when I have visited. It has YOUR name on it. I think she was testing your furs to see if they are ready to be shaved off to make her ear muffs!! What do YOU think?

  31. Scouty, Scouty, Scouty.....
how frightful, but you kind of admitted it here that you liked it!
    You DO look very silky!

  32. You two, Scouty & Bean, are worthy opponents. I want to see that leather. Come on Bean -- break it out. I'm selling tickets. (Circus metaphor continues.)

  33. Wow you ahd a narrow escape there matey. Mum tried those on me last year but didnt even try this year so escape for me too. You should try getting some loving and hugs though cause they are real good. Hugs GJ x

  34. Fear the evil bunny ears!!

Mommy snorted when she read yesterday's post. That must mean it was REALLY funny.

Pets and scritches aren't THAT bad...maybe you should let your Mommy try again? Just avoid being picked up AT ALL COSTS! Snuggles are AWFUL!

  35. Sooo glad that atleast you got away :)
I know all about having a mom that you can´t trust in too !

    ReplyDelete
  36. Scouty we are sorry your mom tried to put those ears on you! We can't believe the kind of torture she puts you through! You are so lucky you escaped!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Scouty, we understand where you're coming from. A cat never knows when it comes to humans.

It was good to see your handsome face today, though.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Scouty - petting is great fun...nice massages all over...you can even shed as much as you want without worrying about a mess.

We bought our cubes at the Dollar General store. The red one in today's photos was in our secret paws package, so I don't know where it came from. It is a nice slick material that we prefer. The ones from DG are easier to snag and rip. I would try amazon.com or something like that.

  39. Scouty, you really should let your humans pet you...it feels wonderful! Even some of Meowms ferals let her pet them! We are very glad you escaped the bunny ear humiliation though!

    ReplyDelete
  40. You were having a dream about ladycats, eh? Too cute. Maybe you should try a belly snuggle one day. I LIKE those!

  41. Scouty what a disappointment to be dreaming of lady cats only to awake and find Mom with bunny ears...that is a nightmare for sure.
Good for you running away...you do look very soft though.
    Hugs Madi

  42. We think it was more of a mancat success and a mom failure.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Scouty you are wise about the bunny ears, but people snugglings can be quite nice, honest!

    Nubbin wiggles,
    Oskar

  44. Oh dear Cod, Scouty! Man, that was a close one, no fooling.

Still, as a fellow formerly feral, I can say that I have developed a tolerance for the pettings and the brushings. I have found they are worth the risk, Bud--but wearing stupid stuff? Getting picked up? sitting on a LAP? Well, no way. It's just one step closer to the stewpot.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh goodness, Scouty - why you gotta be so scared?? Your furs are probably just as soft as mine, and that means it's like a super special treat to let your mom pet you! But, it's good for you, too!!! Petties are the best things ever, after Fancy Feast and toy mousies. And I'm all but certain that your Mommy doesn't want to make stew out of you. However, you were right to flee from those ears!!!

    Your friend, Zoe

    ReplyDelete
  46. Um, Scouty? Was she petting you, or just feeling for the tenderness of the stew meat?!?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh, Scouty! Your mom almost got you!! I cracked up when I saw the photo of you running like a bullet from the fake ear :-)
Now the Easter is over, I hope you will have another good dream with LadyCats...:-)

    ReplyDelete
  48. Oh Scouty! Yous my hero! Mommy tried to put a Santa hat on me at christmas, She got shredded! And she had the bunny ears in her office for a long time, hoping me would get used to them and would not go balistic when she tried to put them on, but I did what yous did! Kuudos to yous!
    Kisses
    Nellie

  49. Scouty, we're glad you woke up before she tried to torture you with those ears! Our mom can only get virtual ones on us!!

Scouty, you and our Zoey are two of a kind...she doesn't like being touched much either!!

    ReplyDelete
  50. At least your mum knows that if she tried that when you were fully awake she would need armor.

    ReplyDelete
  51. You never know about them human beans...especially when they come home with bunny ears and expect you to WEAR them! We are glad you escaped, Scouty!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm glad you woke up before she could put the ears on you! But you should try the petting -- it can be so nice!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Wow! Scouty! You´re so gourgeous!
    Kisses!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Whew! Way to escape the bunny ears, Scouty! We don't blame you about that but you know rubs and scritchies from your mom are a good thing. Really!
