George comes INSIDE!

Kitties!

Sweet Pea here, in the laundry room.
Earlier I was out on the Catio and George was out there too--and guess what?  He came inside with me!  Not that he had much choice clamped between my teeth, but still.  I let him go so we could play a little and he ran like the dickens and hid under the dryer.

Daddy saw it all happen.

Mommy was at the grocery store, and Daddy called her and asked how soon she'd be home because we needed another person to play hide-n-seek with George.

Mommy laughed and said she was on her way!
And she was home in just a few minutes...I didn't even have time for a nap...not that I felt like sleeping or anything.

Daddy moved the washer and dryer, et Voila, George was REVEALED!

Mommy, you need to clean behind stuff a leetle more often.  George could get disease lurking back there.

Then, Mommy scooted her bum around the dryer, and snatched George up!  He was a pretty big George; about a foot long including his tail, which I Did Not have a chance to make fall off and play with.  In fact, George was totally intact, so Mommy let me smell him (so I didn't camp by the dryer for the next 374 hours) and released him outside.

It was all pretty exhausting.

Happy Friday!

Pee Ess:  If any of you kitties do bring in half dedded things and your Mom or Dad has to finish them off, our Mommy puts our trophies in a plastic bag in the freezer.  It's quick, and, Mommy hopes, painless.
And it beats the shovel technique.

  1. Oh, my! What excitement!

That freezer technique is interesting. I guess there are worse ways to go.

  4. Congratulations on bringing George in to the house and commiserations on the loss of such a lovely trophy. We hope there will be many more. So your Mom freezes your half-kills for later snacking - that is most excellent. Äiti was wondering though how 'quick' freeze death is.....?

  5. That was pretty exciting Sweet Pea! Too bad George went being the dryer before you could at least get his tail. We've never dedded anything other than spiders so we're in awe of your hunting ability!

  6. OMC !!! Sweet Pea..Believe it or not my mom scream when she first saw silly George in your mom's hands ( and it sound pathetic because she got flu, No voice ) . Not because she wanna eat it but she has lizard phobia ( just the small one scared she the most )

Not like me,Gorge made me drooling but I feel sorry for you, he has been released ! But no worry Sweet Pea, Once Mr. Gorge was silly enough to get in, He will do it again another time. And when the time come, you can might leave just the head for your mommy.

Mom said your mom technique sound awesome for half dedded but my mom have to say " No, Thanks " she still want to have a good time when open the freezer.

    xoxo

PS : Mom said one good thing about me, I never bring " half dedded " back home but I gave to my neighbours to remain my charming to all human around here ( Mom already love me, No point to give her )

  7. Miss Sweet Pea, you look pretty darned pleased with yourself. As you should!

  8. George is cute! Sometimes hissy old Licorice used to bring snakes in to the house and Mommy has to catch them. Daddy don't like snakes and reptiles.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Wow! And George looks to be doing quite well after his transportation inside...

  10. You should've dedded George when you had the chance, SP. Now, even if he does come inside again, you'll have to start all over.

  11. Poor lizard. The Farm cats brought the publicist a snake yesterday. She made them let it go

  12. What a good-looking lizard! I bet he would have been yummy if he hadn't gotten under the dryer!

  13. I found a similar looking one .. not-alive in front of our main door two days ago.

My hubby said, gift from the alleycats.

I felt really bad. Not too long ago, a small baby frog.

Thanks for the 'freezer technique' idea, it does sound like a more peaceful going ..

  14. Hey Sweetness. That George was pretty sweet indeed! I can'ts believe you didn't get to deadded him yerself. And the nerve of that George not to at least gives you a tail after all your hard work! Honestly, what has the family of Georges come too?

Peesss; I don't think just smellin 'em is any reason not to camp at the last know location for an eternity. Always makes the human wonder if she got ALL of them out!

    heehee

  16. A foot long! Wow! I think you should camp out in front of the dryer anyway, Sweet Pea..you know, just in case.

  17. Was it George of the Jungle? Good hunting skills SP! purrr...meow!

  18. Lucky George! I don't think Mummy wants to put the half dedded cockroaches we catch in her freezer! She doesn't even want to go near them!

Okay. This is getting annoying. I cannot comment under "Google Account" so I'm going to try with Name/URL and see if it works.

  19. Austin brings birds and mice. I am not showing him this for him to get ideas like. OK?

Freezer thing gave me a shiver!!!!

  20. Oh George, George, George! Lucky lucky George!! In the past I've run, taken a cab, hitched a ride etc straight to the vets for any creature my kitties er.. bring home to play with. Ahem. These days, Charlie is so efficient even with a big bell around his neck that I just cry the er... *whisper* 3 times he's returned with carcasses of little creatures. I try to give them all decent burials. Sigh.

Sweat Pea! You are beautiful! Take care

  21. Wow Sweet Pea, what exotic creatures you have over there in your garden. We have little buzzy things and flutterbyes, but no lizards here :)xx

  22. I caught a George of my own not so long ago. I was chatting to him on the stairs so mum had to get out of bed and put George to bed. By throwing him out the front door. I kept his tail though.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh my stars ~ I can't believe your mom picked George up!! But that was nice she let him go back outside. I guess that way he can be caught to play with again another day! ;)

Hmmm.... half dead things in your freezer... I won't ask what's for supper. ;)

  24. glad george was intact. that's often the best way to be.

    ReplyDelete
  25. And once again mom is glad we don't have georges here....she would be freaked out if one of us brought home a george (or any other reptile). Maybe it is for the best he got away - you can chase him again later!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm glad we don't get georges either, although we do have lots of wildlife, being in the countryside, and am wondering what our puss will be bringing back once she's allowed out.

    ReplyDelete
  27. WOW - you did have an exciting day. So dat's what a lizard looks like. bat bat bat! Sorry I haven't left comments lately - darn blogger was all confizzled.

  28. Sweetpea..you look ravishing AND you are quite a seasoned hunter! I am proud of you and your mom's tip would have really been handy back when Robin was with mommy and her kids. Robin brought in the entire animal kingdom is seemed sometimes.

  29. That sounds so exciting, I'm not sure that Grandma would let me bring it into the house though.

  30. I'm sure George is probably very tired too! Y'all have a great weekend!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Your Mommy is BRAVE. Our Mommy would've jumped up on a chair shouting EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE until Daddy came home to rescue George. Which would be helpful in giving us more time to capture him for playtime, but Mommy's squeals are loud, and so we scatter to our favorite hidey spots instead.

    ReplyDelete
  32. How fun!!! A lizard. There are lots of tail-less lizards running around my backyard.....

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm glad (for George's sake) that he was able to scamper away. I'm in awe that your Mom picked him up with her bare hands, though. I probably would have put on several layers of gloves, and grabbed a towel too. LOL.

  34. Sweet Pea, you are (a) GOREOUS and (b) a mighty, might huntress! (Or is that HUNTER? OOps!) And I'm kinda glad your little lizard friend was okay. Also I will stop complaining about the mice my kitties present me with!

  35. Good huntin' Sweet Pea!! -SS&S

A quick puff of car exhaust for small creatures
will put them out of their misery in seconds. I read this in "Letters From Eden: A Year at Home in the Woods" by Julie Zickefoose, animal advocate and former field biologist for the Nature Conservancy. The book is full of her beautiful illustrations. -SS&S's Mom

  36. Well done. A great catch!

I had a similar hunting experience. The people didn't manage to get any photos, but Mum made my adventure into a cartoon:
The Lizard Incident - Super Spock!

  37. Glad you got to have fun and George still be intact so he could be put back outside...now you can hunt him again. :) You all have a wonderful and safe weekend. Hugs and nose kisses

  38. Oh, how cool! It must be so much fun to play with lizards.

MOL! I will tell my human bean to remember the freezer technique for future reference. ;)

  39. Oh my stars....Sweet Pea you are a indeed a great White hunteress!!
Kudos to you for your efforts and presistence too.
We are glad no kitties or lizards were hurt and all ended well.

As for cleaning behind things....Mom's theory is to only do it when necessary as in capturing George or finding a missing toy.
    Hugs Madi

  40. WE can see how that would be exhausting (especially for George!). :)

    Have a great weekend, friends!

  45. Wow, we have never gotten a George inta the house! Come ta think of it, we have never gotten annything alive inta the house. Ayla says LC managed it a couple times.

On the other paw, when we catch something outside, we are allowed ta play with it until it stops playing back.

  46. Sweet Pea, too bad your Mom let George go!!! I got a mouse that was in the house. I left him for Mom to find when she came home from work :)
I think you would have had fun playing with George!!!!

  47. We don't have many Georges any more because Harley has learned to eat them in one gobble before our Mommeh can take him away. But when she can get to them, she always uses a paper towel to pick him up!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Wow, what an acitin day! I can't believe you didn't efun get the tail! That's too bad. George looks like he was a lot of fun, while you had him!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Wow, that was cool! I've never seen any of theese Georges before but they looks to be good entertainment.

    ReplyDelete
  50. oh wow did the little taste of george you got taste good? we have never seen critters like him, and have certainly never tasted him. we prefer bugs and they are easier to find.

  52. Wow, Sweet Pea! That was quite an adventure for both you and George! Maybe he'll come visit again!!

  53. We has learned that the humans steal our prey so we stays away from them when we has interesting things like George. Arty caught a mouse that was bigger then her the other day. She brought it up to the house so Scylla could play with it. We eventually let it go. At least that is what Mommy thinks happened to it.

  54. No the occasional mousies has been fully deaded before mum gets it.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I have George's here too!

    Thanks for being our friend.

    ReplyDelete
  56. We see lizards out on our deck but WE never have the chance to make their tails fall off! We get crickets and spideys but their route of dedded is the toilet...flushed!
