Boxing Day

Kitties!

Salem here.  And ME, Sylvester!

(and Sweet Pea, who saw the whole thing!)
Mommy and Ashley brought home these two Most Excellent Boxes for us.  She propped 'em up on the ESS for us to play tent.

Salem:  I took the left tent.

Sylvester:  I took the right one!

10 seconds pass...

Salem:  I'm bored with this side...wanna switch?
Sylvester:  Noooooo, I like this tent.  It has a great snootstril-picker thingy.

::mild bickering::

Grayce:  Can't you two get along?
Sylvester:  Sisters!  I'm outta here.  Too many girl cooties.

SUCCESS!
Salem:  I better scuttle in here before anybody else wants the right tent!

Oh yeah, this one is better.
Way better.
I love love love this side soooooooo much!
Singing Salem:  I'm in the right side, I'm in the right side!

10 seconds later:

What?
I got bored.

It's a Lady Cat's prerogative to change her mind!

Sylvester:  Oh, for Cod's sake.

More box stories tomorrow...

Happy Tuesday!

  1. Salem, Despite my undying devotion to you and your JLLs, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to let my Inner Mancat rule here. You and Grayce were Not Nice to poor Sylvester. That's all I'm sayin'.

Um, could you send Filthy Dirty Whitey over here pretty soon? I'm waiting.

  2. Keep 'em coming. They're hilarious. Love the surprised look.

  3. Great idea of box tents leaned on an ess! And we love the Hello Kitty bed too.

  4. Come on guys and girls, we all know the best box is the one the other cat occupies! And when you get there it all reverses. So the best thing is to tear the box up....

  5. Wow! What a fun idea she had. You guys are lucky to have a mom who has creative play ideas!

  6. When I saw the title, I thought I was going to see some good paw smacks over those boxes! C'mon you all, I know you have it in you!

  8. Pfft, Grayce reminds us of Speedy...no one is allowed to bicker, yell, hiss or anything fun. He even gets upset and barfs when mom and dad haf hissy fits at each other. We think he does it on purpose, whatever, it works 'cuz da pawrents stop yelling and get all "oh, baby boy, are you okay?" and chit. Stoopid humans.

  9. MOL..Miss Salem, You remind me the quote " The grass is always greener on the other side, until you jump the fence and see the weeds up close."— Albert Grashuis

    Good Luck, Sylvester ;

  11. Those do look like great tents. Maybe you two boys should be a little nicer but our boys here would have done the same thing. Have yourselves a great day.

  14. They look like tuxie bookends!!!

  15. Nicki agrees with Punapippuri -- the best thing to do with boxes is eat them! That will resolve any dilemmas as to who gets which box. :-P

  16. YOu made mommy's day. She is ready to log off and go to the Torture Chamber for her hand and wrist..and you made it better, Salem and Sylvester.

  19. You are so silly! The best box is the one the other cat is sitting in...always.

  20. I like what you did with those cool boxes. In the close-up shots it almost looks like Sylvester and Salem are wearing square Japanese hats or something!

It's just like a cat to think "the grass is greener on the other side", so to speak. No conTENTment comes from coveting others' PUSSessions!

  25. Sometimes even boxes are too much work...but a nap usually solves that problem!

  26. Box tents!
Now that rocks! Sylvester, the rule here is if you move, you lose it.
Mostly that applies to mom, whenever she moves off a chair one of us will steal it. And yes, she'll *usually* go sit elsewhere!

  27. You are so lucky that your mom and dad propped it up like that, even if you did get "bored."

    ReplyDelete
  28. Sylvester, it looks like you got the comfy spot while Salem is still trying to decide where she wants to be!

  31. Nothing like a cat-in-the-box. Doesn't matter how big or how small--Scooter will climb in a box every single time. :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Maybe the box needs to be redecorated....

    ReplyDelete
  33. Love, love, love these pictures!

  34. MOL it looks like the Katnip lounge is full of kitty enrichment pleasures...
Mom cracked up at the cooties.

She said when my sis was a little girl she gave her self a cootie shot every morning before school to ward off the boy cooties...she would say:
"circle, circle, dot dot now I have the cootie shot"!!
I'm online until we get kicked off which could be minutes or hours.
    Hugs Madi
