Summer is Ending.

Kitties!

Sweet Pea here, up in the garden window...
...FINALLY!

I say "finally" because for most of the summer we aren't able to get up here.  It's so hot that Daddy puts a solar screen up on the inside to keep the kitchen cool and the blinds are down all the time.
Truthfully, it gets overly toasty in here we'd avoid it anyway, except for after the Sun goes down--but that'll be our little secret--we enjoy pawing at the screen and the blinds, making Mommy & Daddy feel like Evil Ogres for denying us access to the window.

But Summer is waning, even here in the desert.  The angle of the Sun has moved enough that Daddy raised the blinds, took out the screen, and installed some towel beds for us! 
I started out on the yellow towel, but I moved over to the red one, I think I like this one better.

Oh yes, this beddy is juuuust riiiiight. 
I decided to take a little nap.

::hours pass::

Look!  My little nap turned into a Big Snooze! 
It's dark out now.
That's Rupert on the yellow towel, we are sleeping buddies as well as rasslin' partners.

Mommy, you'll have to leave the blinds up for a while longer. 
I'm too comfy to move!

    Aw that looks so blissful. Towel beds look great - I wonder if Äiti will take the hint. We know some perfect shelves that are in need of them.
    Summer is over here too and it's getting more chilly. And dark. But now we have your valerian root it'll be a bright and sunny winter hehehe

    I can't believe how hot you kitties have it out there in the Nevada desert. I mean, I like sun puddles and warmth, but what you get is over the top!

    Oh my, that does look comfy Sweet Pea. Summer is going away her to, at least for 4 or 5 days. Today, we had all da doors and windows open and we all took naps in da fresh, cool breeze. Mom says by Friday it will be back to closed windows and cold blowy things again.

    I wonder how you and Rupert do it? You each have the colored towel that goes perfectly with your furs. Your snoozing spots on that shelf look so great. I don't get anything like that here. This week, it is going to be hot here. Looks like our summer is trying to squeeze in some last minute scorchers. Sun puddles here I come!

    Our human is squealing "Toe fluff!" - make her stop.

    We terrorize the blinds at our house. Mom gave up years ago and leaves them up about 1 foot so we can get to the windows. Luckily, we live in an area where it's OK to have your blinds up a little bit. Mom's bedroom has huge tree-like bushes in front of the windows (which hides a big, ugly electric thingy) so no one can look in at watch us sleep.

    Here in Sweden has the autumn arrived with colorful leaves on the trees.

    P.S the worst part was missing all the birdwatching !!!

    We see summer ending around here too Sweet Pea...our mimosa tree is slowly going to sleep and it's barely (just barely) starting to get a bit cooler here with less humidity. But that is sure a great spot and what a terrific view you have.
