Kitties!
KonaKitty here.
You might be wondering why there's a fleece-lined box top in the Big Cat Tree.
I wouldn't blame you if you though that our crazypants Daddy put it up here--because he DID!
But there's a perfectly sane reason, check it out:
See the cord there? There's a heaty pad underneath the fleece liner in the box top!
We had some pretty darn cold weather move in yesterday, and Daddy didn't want us to be chilly when we nap, so he set up heaty beds and boxes for us all over the house. I generally sleep in the tree if I sleep indoors, so he made sure there was one for me to toast my old bones.
AND he put the tie dye stool there for a leaping aid.
Daddy totally rocks.
(Hi Sylvester!)
This is Mommy's bedroom, which as you can see is actually for us.
Our wet food feeding station is by the sliding doors and the ESS, our kibble tower (hi Rupert!) is by the water fountain, and the chair with the pillow is where May Ling sleeps at night.
Oh, the bed is ours, too.
Do you see the weird space-pod looking thingys hanging over the head board? Those are the controllers for Mommy's electric mattress pad.
Mommy doesn't want us to have paw and ear-sicles, so she leaves it on "low" all day for us!
And at night she cranks it up to"blast furnace", which we love.
Yesterday morning Mommy woke up with six of us in bed with her; Rupert and CC tucked under her right arm, Sweet Pea under her left, me and Grayce by her feet, and Salem up by the pillow!
Johnny sleeps with Daddy at night. Daddy flails a lot when he sleeps, but John's big enough to hold his own and not get launched when Daddy levitates and stuff.
During the day Johnny sleeps on Mommy's bed where it's considerably calmer.
Hmmmm, kitties, I'm feeling peckish, I think I'll say ciao for now...
...besides, it's Rupert's turn for the heaty box.
Happy Sunday!

We are impressed with the way you permit your people to share your furniture. We wish our Mum would get us some heaty pads too, although we get sun all afternoon and that's pretty good.
ReplyDeleteWow, you have sum vewy nice pawrents..heatie thingies, six sweeping wif Mommy...climbing twees everywhere...can we come to you house?
ReplyDeleteYour pawrents rock. And your Daddeh has earned our undying devotion for making life so comfy for the older gals (my Human *IS* one, so she especially appreciates the extra touches!) Purrs, efurrybuddy.
ReplyDeleteNothing like a toasty warm kittie! A couple of ours snuggle up to us trying to extract every degree of heat they can ...and have an annoyed look when we try to move limbs that have fallen asleep under the weight of a well fed kitty!
ReplyDeleteYou kittehz got it good!
ReplyDeleteParadise! Your daddy truly rocks! Heaty pads and boxes all over your house? I'd move there if there weren't so many cats. Your mommy's bedroom looks so inviting and comfy. Mama and I just love your place!
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Lucy
p.s. Mama complains that she has three kitties and very rarely does one sleep with her.
We need lessons on how you got your mommy and daddy to cater to your need to stay warm! We sleep under the covers with them but they don't hold still. Outside of the covers it's an igloo because our sisfur Sadie pants if there aren't icicles forming in the room. You kitties are very lucky!
ReplyDeleteOh how wonderful that you have a heaty box for when it's cold!
ReplyDeleteIf we had a cord that hung about the way yours does (to your heaty pad), we would have chewed on it. Mom has to tuck in all the cords (especially the small thin ones) after we, uh, severed a few of her phone chargers AND headphones. Heh heh.
ReplyDeleteDoes Henry have his own heating pad for winter too?
Love, Cosmo and Ling
Whoa! You guys have it MADE! But I knew that already.
ReplyDeleteI would like a heat pad! I thinks my mom wants one too! I am always complaining that we need more blankies! And she is always complaining about cold feeties when she watches tv!
ReplyDeleteohmigod, I think it was a delicious sllep with mammy all night long and all together!
ReplyDeleteHere I'm the only one and everynight I sleep at my mammy foot!
Happy Sunday

We love these posts as we point things out to Äiti that she could perhaps consider for us. We already have two WFFS (wet food feeding stations) and she tried and failed with fleecy box liners (she needs to get more box lids from work).
ReplyDeleteBut, we must ask.....what EXACTLY do you guys mean by 'cold'.....?

Awwwwwww you have the most amazing sleeping arrangements with mum and dad!! They are lucky you all allow them to share your bedrooms with you!! Yay! :-) Enjoy your Sunday cos it's Sunday here in the UK! Take care
ReplyDeletex
what a wonderful thing that your daddy puts out all those heaty pads for you. Give him a high paw from me.
ReplyDeletepawhugs, Max
I had to turn off my toasty bed this weekend - it actually got too hot for me!
ReplyDeleteYou kitties sure haf a nice setup there. Maybe I shud tell Mom about the heaty pad. Your pawrents are wunnerful giving so many kitties a nice safe place.Haf a happy Sunday!
ReplyDeletexoxo Kassey
Julius the ornj kitty is now pestering me for his own heating pad...
ReplyDeleteOh my...your mommy and daddy are the pawsomest there is.
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit and enjoy the heatie pads. I have been snuggling more with mommy though now that it's colder. xoxoxox
Guess what? Our dad dragged our Lotus cat tree from upstairs to downstairs, and now we use it all the time. Even the evil cave at the bottom! And my Mommeh put my heated cat pad in there and I spend hours inside!
ReplyDeleteI shall be right over!
ReplyDeleteHeaty pads and boxes for all of you !!
ReplyDeleteYour dad must be the best dad in the whole wide world ??!!
You obviously have trained your servants well.
ReplyDeleteI'd say your oomans should get the award for being best cat pawrents for the year. They for sure have the right ideas.
ReplyDeleteYour staff is certainly more attentive than Mine has been lately.
ReplyDeleteWow heated beds - you guys are all so Lucky.
Purrs,
Genghis
Oh nooooooooos. This is too early for the colder weather. I really hate to see it coming. Glad that you all are prepared and can snuggle up and stay warm.
ReplyDeleteYour mommy and daddy are the best, they are so considerate of your needs! It might even make up for the labels you have to occasionally wear. The slacker at our house lets us fend for ourselves, and didn't turn the heat on for a week after it got cold. We need to turn her in for a better model.
ReplyDeleteKitties tell your Dad to sleep with one eye open 'cause we heard Johnny likes to eat things other than Stinky goodness. MOL
ReplyDeleteMy sis told mom that she bought a pet heating pad for Harley their Cornish Rex..who doesn't have a thick lucious coat like we do.
Hugs Madi
Wow, your kitties are so lucky! Mine have to make do with non-electric warming things! (Well, unless I'm using an electric blankie for myself. As soon as they figure that out they pile on!!)
ReplyDeleteA heated bed?! You kitties are spoiled! Nice of you to share the bed with your mom, too.
ReplyDeleteWow!± Your Daddy really does rock!
ReplyDelete#1 is trying to examines having six cats in one's bed. She already has considerable difficulty when there are three of us in or on her bed...
Purrs,
The Chans
hmmmmm...heating pads....I MUST share this with Glogirly!
ReplyDeletexo Katie
That is so wonderful that you have those heaty pads, warm is much better than cold!
ReplyDeleteMom laughed out loud (she does not do this often) when she read that Johnny holds his own and does not get launched when Daddy levitates and stuff >^..^<
ReplyDelete~ The Bunch
We have decided that if we ever need to run away from home, we are heading right to your house!
ReplyDeleteYour mom and dad are the coolest for keeping you guys the warmest!! Can we come live with you??
ReplyDeleteStay warm kitties, we know we like our heaty monster to help keep us warm.
ReplyDeleteI also have to wonder what constitutes cold weather in the Lounge. Here in MO, it's 40's at night and 60's during the day. It'll be another 10 degrees before the heating pads come out, but we do have lots of windows that face south, so the house stays very warm and the gang can lay in the sun. At night, I'll have four kittens under the covers and a couple adults on top. Heavenly. Don't you feel sorry for people who don't have cats?
ReplyDeleteremember that song "Hot Child in the City?" all of a sudden I thought of it lol....."Hot Cats in the City" lol
ReplyDeletethanks for visiting our blog. we had to come over to see Maui. any cat that sleeps like yuki has got to be a really cool cat.
ReplyDeletekazoku neko
Wow, KonaKitty. And I thought I had it made when I discovered the fleece drawer. Your heated pad under the fleece lined bed looks heavenly! Yo do have a Daddy that totally rocks! I know what I am missing now. Hmph.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I am called both Prints and Prince. My people use those names interchangeably. My given name was Prince, but when I adopted my parents, they decided to call me Prints. It's really the same. They are quite the silly ones.
That is one awesome bedroom, you got going there! Hi Johnny!
ReplyDeleteHeating pads??? Last night it was below freezing here and I was out in it cos I was frightened by fireworks!!!
ReplyDeleteCurious to know what "cold" is to you guys?
>^..^<
Oh you kitties have it made ~ it's like living in a 5 star hotel ~ with servants too! Very lucky kitties indeed!
ReplyDeletexo Catherine
KonaKitty how wonderful to have a heated pad!
ReplyDeleteWe were without heat for three days last week (snow storm) and I have to say I am still thawing out.
Here's to electricity!
So cool! (or... warm!) I need some of those. I have been cuddling on mom's lap nonstop lately tryin to stay warm, but then sometimes she puts her computer on her lap instead of me, RUDE!
ReplyDeleteHeaty beds are the best, my dad has one, I love to sleep there!
