Mommy is Old!

Today is our Mommy's Birthday!

She is eleventy-seven years old today, in Cat years.

We celebrated last night, and it was funfunfun!  Daddy made one of her favorite meals for supper and we got some too.  Orange Roughy, (HEAVENLY)  lima beans, (yuk!) and Velveeta Mac-n-Cheese (yummy cheese sauce!).

Afterwards there were presents and dessert!

Mommy kept making moany noises eating the cake...it was chocolate with fudge filling and chocolate whipped cream frosting.

She ate a GREAT BIG piece!

Mommy is a pig where cake and chocolate are concerned.

Now we know that you think our Mommy's name is "Trish", but Daddy never calls her that.  He calls her "Sheeb".  One day a long time ago they were in the grocery store, in line, when they realized they'd forgotten something (prolly Cat food).  Mommy skittered off to get it, and Daddy said "Run little Sheba, run like the wind!"  She's been Sheeb ever since.

Here's the cards Mommy got!

Us Cats e-mailed Grandma Cat, and asked her to pick out a card for us and a little gift that we saved up from our allowances.  This is the inside of one of them that we all signed.  Writing is hard!

We got Mommy this figurine to help her speak the language.

This card is from Daddy and Felix, it plays the Tears for Fears song "Everybody Wants to Rule the World".

heh heh.

Here's the inside of the smoking kitty card...we laughed our (figurative) sox off at the kitty who looked like Felix, so he got hissy and wouldn't sign it!  That's why he signed the one from Daddy.

Sometimes we're a little hard on Felix, he's such a curmudgeon.

Sorry, Felix.

Daddy bought Mommy a SNUGGIE!!!!

She's always cold, and it's fleece, so we expect we'll be spending a lot of time snuggling on the snuggie.

Mommy put on a red clown nose for fun!

She's silly.

Lastly, her Mom & Dad sent her a stunning sterling silver necklace which she absolutely loves.

Floof Monster

Felix here, and I have a secret, one that I don't show often...except when I really need a good defensive weapon.

Check out my Tail...

I was looking behind the sofa on the Catio and I spotted a MONSTER!

I floofed my Tail out to scare the Monster.

He wasn't impressed, so I went for Full Floof with Spot #13 Indentation.

I checked behind me, and the Monster was gone...

but I decided not to take any chances and I went Inside!

You can never be too careful where Monsters are concerned.

Do you see what I'm eating?  It's a piece of chikkun jerky!

It's the most delicious thing in the Whole World.

I like it better than Fancy Feast, Temptations, or kibble.   Even Tuna!  I wish that Mommy would feed me nothing but chikkun jerky.  However, she claims I need "proper nutrition" and "vitamins" and other voodoo things and thus limits my chikkun intake.

Mommy is mean.

Look!  There's a piece of chikkun on the table! 

::POUNCE::

::bat bat bat:: 

*chomp chomp gulp chew chew chew swallow*

Another part of Mommy's Evil Plan of Chikkun Rationing is the Getting Close Conditioning. 

I have to take the yummy morsel right from Mommy's fingers!

Sometimes she puts it in the palm of her hand, and when I fiercely attack gently pick it out she tickles my chin. It's horrible, especially when I lick her palm and fingers to get every last chikkun molecule.

Because I do NOT like to touch or be touched by Humans.  That's how you end up in the stew pot.

(Of course it doesn't count when Mommy strokes my paw or twiddles my tail tip in the morning when I get kibble snax.)

I'm very thankful that I have chikkun jerky to eat. 

I don't remember ever getting any when I lived Outside.

In fact, I don't remember getting much to eat AT ALL when I was feral. 

Maybe I'll let Mommy touch me again some time.

So...Can I have some more? 

I'm still all hungry and stuff!

You're Asking For It! Number 4

Kitties!

Today we want to tell y'all how we get along here at the Katnip Lounge.

For the most part, we all live in harmony with only a few spats.

Daddy is good at building us stuff so we have lots of places to go, even though we have a small house.  He's a  Cat Whisperer and he's always watching us to make sure we're happy.  His theory is cats are like fish in a tank, we all need our space.

Scouty is pretty timid, of other Cats as well as Humans.  He loves his brother CC and Johnny.  Maui delights in chasing him and making him squeal, but Maui is actually a pretty gentle player except when he tussles with John.  Those two really RASSEL.

Of the ManCats, Johnny is the Cat Cop, he shows up at altercations to mediate between arguing parties.  He's Top Cat.  

And, he humps Scouty!  

The Baby is Queen Bee of the GirlCats.  She's a histrionic kitty, she whines and spits and hisses at everybody.  We all stay out of her way.  Oh, and Grayce has a lethal rapid-fire swat move that's smart to avoid.  Plus she BITES.

Sylvester is the CreepyCat!  He hardly ever blinks, and he STARES so long we get a little weirded out.

Food is the great equalizer.  

We hear the snax container and even Rupert and Maui will eat side by side.  Rupert is convinced Maui wants to eat him, and Maui plays along.  He's nice that way.

We all love the sun.

The top shelf is exclusively Felix's.

Laps are good. 

These three pile up together at night to cuddle with Mommy on her left side.

We like Mommy the best for piling on.  Daddy is a one at a time kind of lap guy; Grayce and May Ling sit on him every day.  These three do not sleep with Mommy.

We all love catnip, and we are on our best behavior in the Big Bedroom--Mommy has deadly aim with a magazine!  Only good manners are allowed.

Bird-watching prevents arguments...

...and we all like to help!

Really, we DO like to help.  Mommy and Daddy talk to us, chide us, and pay lots of attention to us when we do projects together.  We LOVE attention and we demand it!

Lizard-watching gets us close.

Nothing like the smell of fresh blood to enhance a bonding opportunity.

The magic quilt is, well, MAGIC!  As you can see.

Sweet Pea is a big Washer-Kitty.  

She and May Ling do not get along, but she loves to cuddle with Rupert.

Our favorite spot to cuddle is the Big Bed.

Especially if Mommy is in it! 

Mommy says 13 Cats is her limit...but she said the same thing at 9, and 10...

Seriously, we are at capacity.  Any more kitties, and the occasional peeing and spraying would get out of hand.  We're all very lucky that we get along as well as we do, and that Daddy is home during the day to supervise keep us company.  Mommy takes over in the evenings, and then we get brushins, rubbins, luvvins, and playtime with her!

Life is Good.
