CUBS WIN!!!

Well, The Cubs (Mommy's team) finally ended their 108-year drought and won the World Series!

Game Seven was a real nail-biter, and Mommy was too fraught to let me sit in her lap and be petted offer stress relief.  You should have seen her pace, kitties!  

Like a Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

  

She calmed down enough by Friday morning to resume her duties as Chief Scritcher, Bum-Whapper and Ear Fondler, though; and we both enjoyed watching the victory parade on TV.

I sure hope there's another good sporting season coming up so I get more serious lap time.  I also hope that Mommy doesn't forget put on my favorite velour pants.  

(He likes the turquoise pair best, the color sets off his fur nicely when he sheds on them--ed.)

Daddy bought himself us some sliced turkey at the store.

He recklessly made a sandwich...

...so we immediately intervened to taste test the turkey for him.

We told Daddy "One can never be too sure of freshness!"

And "Better let us sample some more to be absolutely sure!"

It's all about safety, kitties...and making a sacrifice for the sake of your peeps.

Mommy's back east home team, The Chicago Cubs, are in hot contention to win the World Series.  This has provided some premium, extended lap time for all of us me.

She's pretty good about not getting overly excited or screamy during the games--always a plus.

She pets me for (her) stress relief!

I hope the Cubs win a little more often than once every 108 years...this is great.

Just a quick post:  Felix is home and sleeping off the remains of his anesthesia.  He had a cleaning only--no extractions--but he's still quite the drunken sailor as the vet got a very late start and released him a bit "soon", and that was at 7 pm.  When we got home he had a bite to eat (out of every single bowl!), the world's longest wee, all the while his tail vibrating like an indignant harp string.  He's all settled in on Dad's bed, where I expect he'll be until morning...

On Tuesday I was cruelly shoved gently decanted into a PTU and--singing the song of my people--hauled off to the vet for a pre-dental check-up.

I was a purrfect gentlemancat with the tech and the vet (both women--he's a huge flirt--ed.) even though I had my temperature "taken" in a Most Undignified manner.  And despite my best efforts to not let the vet see my teeth, she persevered and determined that I have lots of tartar, so I have to go back...next Tuesday.  

Ai yi yi.

Kitties, do any of you have a spare room and a desire for an Ornj visitor?

I'm in the garage again!

I am becoming quite an old hand (paw?) at hanging in the garage with Daddy and purrforming inspections...nonetheless I'm so happy to visit that I flare my tail feathers--every time!

Felix, or, The Intrepid Explorer

You kitties are all just so smart--of course--you guessed immediately where I was in yesterday's post.

I am in the garage, hanging out with Daddy.  It's our Special Thing we've started doing together--with the weather so hot the garage door stays shut and Daddy runs the portable air conditioner in there to keep it cool.  Naturally he requires snoopervision, and I'm just the Cat for that!  I keep him on the straight and narrow by purrforming a vigorous inspection...

Daddy uses the garage as his Man Cave so there's lots of stuff to examine.  He's not the tidiest human but he does have a place for dirty socks, et cetera...it was pleasantly stinky.  Just like him.   mmmmmmmmmmm....

There's a cot out here too.  Both the peeps like to stretch out on it occasionally for a break from the Horde nice nap.  Daddy showed it to me but I was more interested in the garbage can (the one he used to spray--ed.) which had another alluring--and most familiar--odor.  Strange...

Out of duty I inspect Daddy's tie dye in progress but it freaks me out a little.  I'm not saying why.  You know how stuff gets weird sometimes, right? 

Before I go back into the house I give the Supply Shelf a once-over.  

Litter?--check!

Stinky Goodness?--check!

Chikkun Jerky (in the big container)?--check!

OK, we're good to go here.  

I have a lot of fun visiting with Daddy in the garage, I chirp and chatter the entire time while I'm out there and I make a huge tail flare--which I only do when I'm really really happy.  I hope it stays hot and the door stays closed for a looooong time!
