Kitties!
Sweet Pea here.
We got fresh oat grass! Our old grass was getting chewed and crisp, and since we are all shedding by the bushel it's important to have a little dietary roughage to, erm, move things through.
I love grass. Actually, I like greens in general--strawberry tops, asparagus, celery leaves, kale, basil, you name it, I'll nibble! So you can imagine how excited I was to see the oat grass.
I buried my snooter deep into the blades and inhaled the gustatory green aroma.
*bliss*
But enough of that.
I had the Need to Feed!
::chomp::
But wait--for some reason that section was no good for grazing (you know how that goes), so I surveyed my options.
hmmm, that bit looks tasty...
if I stretch my neck out just a leeeetle bit...
Yes, it's purrfectly delectable!
SUPER CHOMP!!!
*chew chew chew*
::thluuuurrrrp::
mm mm, good! Nothing like some fresh green grass to keep your trains on time.
And Mommy, you can stop with the snickering and sheep remarks any time.
Happy Tuesday!

Mmm, delicious green feast!
ReplyDeleteOMC--this is like GRASS PORN for me. I have neffur seen anykitty enjoy the greens like yours truly. But I have met my equal! Well done, Sheepie ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh my - now we're telling mum we want some of that!!
ReplyDeleteWe don't get grass anymore around here because it boomerangs - it doesn't move through, it just turns around and comes back up!
ReplyDeleteThis reminds us that we are way overdue for some grass around here! How'd you get all that yummy grass all to yourself anyway Sweet Pea?
ReplyDeleteSweet Pea, our mom says you have an open invitation to come over and graze on our front lawn :) it isn't oat grass but it is yak-worthy (you have to go back to your own house for that part ;))
ReplyDeletePip, Smidgen, Minnie, Hollie
How lucky you are to have fresh grass!
ReplyDeleteour mama picks fresh grass for us. but she just planted some grass seeds two weeks ago. then we'll have them again.
ReplyDeletehow are you all?
emma and buster
Dear MomKat Trish, we are very grateful you have only shown the 'before' photos and not the after from this grazing. It is too early in the morning to look at other kitties' yak.
ReplyDeleteWe've only tried wheat grass (and it wasn't a hit)...maybe we need to try oat grass?
ReplyDeleteDid you Mommy grow them herself?
So did the grass do the job, Sweet Pea? Curious to know? But not every detail, you understand!
ReplyDeleteThe grass is always greener and tastier on the other side you know!
ReplyDeleteSweet Pea , you sure can take huge bites of grass with your BIG mouth ;-)
ReplyDeleteBonjour Sweet Pea,
ReplyDeleteI'm asking my mammy to prepare a vase with green grass for me as well. It's great for kitties and it also looks delicious!

Awwwww gorgeous Sweet Pea!!! You are a kitty in sheep's clothing! LOL!! Yay for fresh grass!!! Enjoy! Take care
ReplyDeletex
It seems the grass is greener on the other side of the pot as well as the fence. ;)
ReplyDeletexo Catherine
snooter? i don't even know her.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! That looks so good.. We need to know if you grow it or buy it at store. We heard the grass at the pet stores is not very good for us... don't know where it's been or what has been on it.
ReplyDeleteWe like your background, and is this a new header picture?
Happy Tuesday to you!
~ The Bunch
huh - gonna have to get the mom on that one....wonder if she could grow that with her black thumb? MOL
ReplyDeleteMum hasn't planted us any for ages we must give her a meow.
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Sweet Pea you got the grazing thing down perfectly.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your grass it sure looks tasty.
Purrs,
Genghis
Doz are mity fine containers of grass! Our human gif us grass once in a while. She haf to do it before they spray for weeds, though.
ReplyDeleteYou are doing a good job attacking those weeds, Sweet Pea=you sure are a beauty too!...Happy week and month ahead, precious friends...xoxo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
ReplyDeleteJust chomp and ignore!!!
ReplyDeleteVery good nibbling technique. Mom hates that when we eat grass we cough huge clumps of it back up! Happy May Day from all of us!
ReplyDelete*smile* when i feed kittens particularly yummy food, they start eating from the opposite side of the bowl as if to say, I am going to eat ALL of this, so stay away!
ReplyDeleteAren't you the cutest chomping down on that grass! Nom nom nom!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the birthday wishes!!!
XOXO
Maya and Chevelle
That looks absolutely delightful!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt makes PURRfect sense that a Sweet Pea would go for green! I sure hope you don't have the same reaction as my Domino, though. She always throws up that stuff.
ReplyDeletePURRhaps oat grass is more tender on the tummy. You sure did a great job munching! Baaaa!
I love that header photo of the "cats playground..we have an enclosure outside that they go into..we call it the "okay kitty koral" or the "catsentration camp"...and your sweet pea is just too cute chomping away..I love your posts..they always make me giggle.;)
ReplyDeleteThat first pic is just adorable & we agree with Spitty Kat. Grass Porn! MOL

MOL sweet pea... Should you get bored living the life of a pampered feline, I think you have a future in lawn maintenance
ReplyDeleteJust sayin
Madi
Probably the same thing would happen here. If we had some nice green grass we sure would bomit but we might have to give that a try. Sure looks like you are enjoying that Sweet Pea. That was one big chomp.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Wish the wheat grass here was a lush and green as it is at your house! We love the view of the catio on your header! Kitty heaven!
ReplyDeleteBaaaaaa er..we mean...... Nommmmmm
ReplyDeleteTW bought me grass once. I sniffed it a few times and never looked at it. Glad Sweet Pea enjoys it.
ReplyDeleteYour oat grass looks very thick and lush Sweet Pea. You are really enjoying it. Mum laughed at how wide you open your mouth to eat it, and that you would make a good lawn mower. I told her off for being rude. Would you care to join me in a grass feast one day? We have several different types you could try.
ReplyDeletePurrs Flynn
Better than any lawn mower!
ReplyDeleteSP, you sure know how to pick the best grass! You aren't a sheep, goat, maybe MOL.
ReplyDeleteLaura & Taffy
haha! We have NEVER heard the "trains on time" line! That's a GOOD one that we're gonna remember!
ReplyDeletexo, Katie & Glogirly
Holy moly! It looks like you got a whole lawn there to chomp on!!
ReplyDeleteNice grass there Sweet Pea. Our mom has some learning to do about taking care of us kitties. Dry nip is all she seems to have around and that's running out quick.
ReplyDeleteNow that it's finally getting nice maybe we can convince Mom to grow us some!
Sasha, Sami, & Saku (MOM Eileen)
P.S. Mom really likes the new background and banner. Very nice pic!
Sweet Pea, that is some serious munching you are doing! Moosey LOVES lettuce, so he'd probably be right there with you munching on that grass. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! You attacked that grass with GUSTO Sweet Pea! Very impressive :)
ReplyDeleteNow about the grazing ... um sheep remarks made by the hooman... well, um ... don't feel too sheepish about them....hahahahahaha...get it ?! Sheep Pea feels Sheep-ish! Gad. Weez so funny....

Wow, must be some tastey greens! That's the second time I've seen soemone giving their cat oat grass. We'd only heard of giving them rye grass before. Might have to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteYou really know your way around a patch of grass!
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,
Oskar
We has to ask...so do you prefers OAT grass or WHEAT grass, cuz mommy just bought wheat grass seeds and we're impatiently waiting for her to PLANT THEM *glares at mommy*....
