A Day in Bed with Mommy

Kitties!

The Mommy here, with an Important Health Bulletin.

I has Teh Sik.  It's a cold and it's laid me out...I swear to Cod I'm never going near Mr Crazypants ever again.  Typhoid Scotty.  He feels bad and is waiting on me hand and foot.
Trust me, I'm milking this one.
My faithful cat crew is watching over me night and day as well.  It's a novelty for them to have me stay put for ten minutes let alone lie in bed all day as I'm normally on the go all the time. So after I got up this morning to dole out the canned cat food I made myself a coffee and toddled back to bed.  Along the way I grabbed the camera, because I knew I was in for a mobbing.

Miss Salem Snack Inspector hopped up onto the nightstand to investigate comestibles possibilities.  Yes, that's an AARP magazine.

KonaKitty made a rare appearance on top of the blankets.  Generally she likes to burrow underneath and snuggle against my hip, ever-so-gently piercing my skin with her claws.  Which, by the way, is counter-productive to sleeping.  For me.

Maui likes to sleep on my bed but only when I'm not in it.  He spent much of the day supervising me from the table.

There were many baths taken.  Some were solo...

...and there were a few duets as well.

Hi Mommy!

Felix made sure I'd have plenty to eat; he made 64892478 biscuits.  Serious Biscuits.

I squeezed out of bed (amidst many complaints) to get a couple of group shots.

Cat Nursing at it finest!

I haven't had a cold in years, so I feel pretty lucky.  I took some time off from work to prevent spreading germs and I'm planning on being a total lazy slug the next couple days, so if you don't see us around don't panic!  I'm just being held immobile by the Horde.

Happy Friday!

  1. Sorry you're sick, but on the upside, we're glad the kittehz are nursing you back to health. Our Mommy has found biskit-making to be most therapeutic. Bloodletting has also been used at our house. MOL!

  2. we hope you feel better real soon. I take air borne, and it does miracles, haven't been sick in years because of it :)

Johnson is really milking it in the duet :)

  3. I expect that that immobility is probably what is so healing. And the biscuit making. You know, if the claws are sharp enough, catupuncture can be very effective...

  4. We hope you feel better soon! We can't figure out where you fit in that bed unless you're shaped like a pretzel!

  5. Äiti is sat here thinking you weren't actually being ill but were doing photography all the time and not allowing nursing from the hordes. But we thinks this is most excellent as they can capitalise on your body warmth and get publicity from the blog.
If you stay long enough in bed we are sure someone will give you a bed bath - as well as the stuff already suggested.
By the way, why is there a cat bed on the bed ? Is one bed not enough for Lord Felix ?

  6. Mommy Trish,
The nurses are sooooo good, aren't they? Errr...I was told cat spit in water will cure anything. Honest. purrr...meow!

  7. If this doesn't work, you could get her some leeches.

Whaaaaat? It worked in the Middle Ages....didn't it?

  8. We hope you don't yak on the floor in 3 or 4 places when you don't feel good. There's not much room on that bed, is there? Good thing you're thin! We hope the fine nursing care you're receiving has you up and running soon.

  9. Sorry to hear that you're sick! I lol'd at "Typhoid Scotty"--that's the way it goes here, too. Geoff is almost never sick, but a little tickle in his throat gets passed along to me and turns into the plague. Sigh. It sounds like you're in excellent hands, though, between the horde and Mr. Typhoid!
