Tuna and Tittle-Tattle

Kitties!

Mommy whistled and put out some tuna for us.
We all came running!
Of course it was merely a lame ruse to get some photos of us.
*sigh*
But the joke was on her...she had the camera on the wrong setting so the pictures came out a little wonky.  Plus, she had to flash us.  With the light, thank Cod.
Rupert photobombed in a gallant attempt to thwart her.

Did you know his tail has stripes?

Now for the Tittle-Tattle!
The Whizz Wars have wound down.  Daddy took off the baseboards and opened up some of the corners where we kept peeing, and he discovered way worse whizz damage than we Cats could have done.  Apparently the dogs who lived here before us had some house-soiling issues, and when we went to war those three areas were irresistible to mark.  Mommy cleaned the spots with various potions and unguents, then Daddy filled them with expanding foam chit.  (ed-I okayed that word.)  They are debating putting baseboard up again after the drywall is fixed, or just painting down to the tile and caulking in the seam.  Any suggestions?

The other bit of gossip is that our faux-leather furniture is gone!  The two chairs and the ottoman are now living on the Catio, and the be-tinkled sofa was curb-picked by some poor unsuspecting  lucky soul.  We now have patio furniture in our living room as a replacement.  It's metal (easy cleaning) and too high for us to want to lift our tails...it kind of looks weird but it's comfortable, and Daddy loves how easy it is to clean the floor.  He is such a hausfrau.  Hausherr.  Whatever.

The faux-leather chairs are a huge hit on the Catio for us felines and the peeps.  They weren't too badly offended against (good enough for a well-ventilated spot) and we love sleeping on 'em out there.  Because there was nowhere else to snooze, otherwise.  heh.  And the peeps sit out there a lot more too, now that there's some really comfy seating.  Which means more petting for us.

So it's all good, kitties.  Tuna, new furniture, and luvvins.

Happy Thursday!

  2. Wow there certainly is a whole lot of stuff going on at your place!!!! Glad the peeing situation is under control :-)

  3. Wow. We think baseboards for the tidiness of the look, plus if you go after them and the folks catch it soon, it will be easier to clean up!

  4. We ruined all of the outside (and inside) funiture, but it's fun to have indoorsy ones outside :)
Enjoy your leather luxury in the catio!

  5. Wow--patio furniture in the living room??? How cool are your Peeps! We think that's a grand idea, esp. in the HEAT. Plus, maybe you can just hose down the whole room now & will never need the sucky monster again. Hope all you kids had a glorious Fourth!

  6. Phew, sounds like a lot of work to us. Since yous didn't have to do it though, that's okay.

Mom says instead of baseboards, maybe quarter round coving (she thinks that's what it's called) would fill the gap. Whatever that is!

Great work on the photobomb Rupert...what is it with pawrents wanting pics when we're busy?

  7. Sounds like the cats rule the roost there...rather like here

  8. Baseboard: My apartment doesn't have baseboard. The vacuum cleaner has flaked the paint around the bottom of the walls. Will cleaning your tile cause similar issues?

  9. Sounds like rings are working pretty well around your house... well, except for the camera setting for that one photo shoot and who cares about that?

  10. How about painting a faux baseboard? Pick a fun color and paint it on like there is a baseboard, no one will notice.

  11. Oh dear. Äiti is in a real hurrumph. She says we are really naughty as there is No Excuse for our peemailing, as there were no dogs here before and it's All Our Fault. And you lot have an excuse. Pah! She's so pissed off (literally) we might actually have to be nice to her for a while. She suggests stainless steel for a backboard but that's just silly. Even if it is pee proof. We suggest a backboard but then add a tough mat that would be perfect for scratching.
And what's all this about the furniture being too high for tails to lift?? We hope, guys, you can just leap on the furniture and then do the business. Okay, we better get going, some serious work to do here or our next set of treats won't happen for a while.

  12. Hi alla you guys! Gee it sure is good to see you again too! We so happy to be visiting again. We promised to go nice and easy though so we don't lose control of Mumsy again. We had us a look back over your posts we missed and had us a bunch of smiles. You guys are just the greatest :-)

Take care and we'll see you later - have a happy!

  13. I've been thinking of changing the floors to hard floors for some time because of the cleaning. Seeing yours has made me more determined to get rid of the carpet. We sometimes feel we are living and breathing fur, especially in the moulting season. lol
    Just love your site...

  17. I swear all cats are make-work projects! Thank God for Feliway and Odormute...

I'm a baseboard fan myself but it would mean more cleaning!

  18. We would love to give our 2 cents on the flooring plans, but we have absolutely no idea what any of those words mean. We're no good with the diy knowledge here. We sure are glad the pee wars are winding down, though! Pee is something our mum knows far too much about...

  19. i think rupert was giving your mom the finger with his tail, if that's possible.

  20. Love the one where Scouty / Felix looks kinda like the big-cat sculpture . . . Sounds like you guys are really getting the haushold together. And what a concept -- woofie contamination. I say no baseboards. And that bit about curb-surfing? Takes on a whole new meaning, about why a "perfectly good" couch would be crouched there. Who knows what evil lurks within. Things are not what they seem.

  21. I sure am glad to hear that the doggy pMail is gone!

  22. Good that the war is nearing an end! Mom discovered there'd been a full-blown one at our old house. First it was one corner (the newly-painted LR wall resurrected all kind of staining), then warped paneling in the den (the perpetual catch-all room for eons), and THEN later it was when we turned on the AC (dogs and toddlers had peed into the registers). March was cool enough to fool homebuyers, which is when my mom bought it.

We used Killz, pulled out all the carpet way before plan, and nine hundred gallons of some enzyme cr*p sprayed into the ductwork. And a whole lot of swears.

Oh, and ha ha ha for the curb diver! That happened to us, too, a long time ago--someone picked up our large discarded area rug that was flea infested! Bet that guy was sorry too!

  23. those darned previous dogs.... we knew it couldn't have been your faults. :) mom will admit to being a fan of baseboards.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Ugh, what a mess! We don't have any help for the baseboard question--maybe Google it to see what others might have done?

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm no help on the baseboards either. but it will be interesting to see what happens with the pee wars now that you know and have taken care of it.

  26. We can see that you guys make the decorating decisions in your house! Good job!! That catio of yours just keeps getting better and better!!

  31. Hey...Audrey has a stripey tail, too. Love the news about more sleeping spots and more cuddles. Everyone wins.

  32. So you have the fancy stuff on the catio, and the outdoor stuff is inside? Way to get the good stuff!!!!!

  33. WE think all the walls should be lined with Scratch Pads! No kitteh would pee on THOSE...

  34. Horsehair! Did I hear right???

I read this with a certain amount of Ewwwwww! Which is a shame as we’ve given you the Illuminating blogger award over at CATachresis. I mean there is illuminating and then there is the foam-chit-in-your-face TMI!!!

    Nice one :)

  35. Interesting facts about a doggie that may have peed and so the cats thought they had to match it. Hope your fix it really fixes it. We just don't allow the boys in the house and things seem to smell so much better. Will have to remember the tuna for pictures. Take care.

  36. A couple of ideas here. If the pee is in the drywall, you could cut it out to the level where the pee stops and replace it. But first, have you ever Frieda product called Odo-Ban? Available at Home Depot as a gallon size concentrate. Lots of ways to use the product. Comes in 3 scents. Strongest deterrent is eucalyptus by your house will smell like a mens room for a while. This stuff does works. About 9.95 a gallon. They have a smaller already diluted sizes for trial.
Have you thought of tile as a baseboard. I've gone to several lovely new home models and that appears to be what is being done now. Some baseboard tiles are bull-nose ( I think it's called-it has a rounded top edge) and some are just strips of tile squares topped with grout to form a bull- nose. I am hoping to be able to soon do that at my home.

  37. That is good mews that the cause of the whizz wars was discovered and a cease fire got declared. And on top of that there was cuddles a good day for the Lounge

  38. Sorry for all of the typos. Sometimes my iPhone selects the strangest words and then a passing kitty sends the message before intended.
