Wonderful Wednesday

Kitties!

Sweet Pea here.

I'm licking my chops after crunching up some Catio Chips.
They are *just* purrfect for a nice teef-cleaning gnaw.

They sure are yummy...and I want to tell you that Daddy miscalculated costs, so there is a new price sheet posted--LOWER prices!  Those of you who have ordered (thank you very much!) will see a refund reflecting the difference.
(Click the link o the sidebar if you're interested...and every purchase this week will earn an entry into the drawing for one of TWO sets of tie-dyed tea towels!)

Humans--so faulty!

If only we had thumbs...

Tasty Tuesday

Kitties!

Scouty here, with the answers to the questions in yesterday's post for which I know you have been breathlessly waiting!
I was eating TUNAS!!!

I shared.

Mommy: *ahem*, the truth please...

OK, OK, I let Tiny John eat the scraps.

And of course Mommy had to use the zoom lens...I love tunas, but I loathe the stewpot!

Happy Tuesday!

Friday Feast

Kitties!

The Baby here.

Mommy went to the store and bought ME a treat:

Gerber's (The) Baby food!
Chicken and gravy flavor.
I had never tasted (The) Baby food before, so I was somewhat skeptical...

...for about 0.02 seconds.

Oh.  My.  CATS.

This stuff is sooooooooo delicious.  I ate a whole jar in one go, and it enticed me to tuck into another quarter can of wet food, too.  Mommy was so thrilled to see me eat with such enthusiasm she went out and bought a dozen more jars of pureed infantile goodness--and I get some every day now.  Please don't tell, but I come running from a dead sleep as soon as I hear the seal crack open...in fact yesterday Daddy opened a fresh jar of pickles and I appeared out of thin air only to be cruelly disappointed!

I can't wait to find out if the beef entree is as tasty...

Happy Friday!

Mommy's New Toy

Kitties!

Mommy killed yet another inexpensive dehydrator a couple of weeks ago, so she decided it was time to open her stingy wallet pull out the big guns and buy a real one.  After all, she does chikkun treats for us weekly, as well as jerky for her and Daddy, and banana chips, nuts, tomatoes...and all the lemons off our tree.  Around here a dehydrator gets quite the work-out.
The Chikkun Inspector worked diligently on the maiden run.

And here it is, all loaded up and ready to go!
Mommy gets a little queasy with the smell of dehydrating chikkun (she is crazypants) so Daddy set up a spot in the garage with a fan to waft the stink delicious aroma outside.

...six hours later...
Et voila!
Crunchy, chewy, toofy-cleaning chikkun snax.

8-10 pounds of titz makes about a gallon and a half of treats, enough to last us about ten days, more or less, depending on whether or not we can get the lid off the ceramic treat jar!
Which would never happen, right Maui?

Happy Caturday!

Tasty Tuxie Tuesday

Kitties!

Salem here.

As is only right and proper, Mommy makes home-made treats for us; dehydrated chicken jerky.  Every couple of weeks she poaches, slices, and dehydrates 5 pounds of boneless skinless chix titz (that's what she writes on the grocery list) for our enthusiastic consumption.

Naturally, some kitty does spot Quality Control throughout the entire process.  There's four basic steps:
 1) Attempted Chicken-Fat Theft out of the sink (The Baby)
2) Endless Raw Titz Licking (again, The Baby)
3) Burning the Roof of the Mouth Eating Too-Hot Chopped Up Chicken  (you guessed it!)
4) Getting in the Way of the Knife and Licking Every Single Slice (need we say who?)

We all love the finished product--and the best bit is eating the still-warm chicken crumbs from the bottom of the dehydrator, like thus:

Sharing a Snack

Kitties!

Maui here.
Mommy bought a maple nut treat on clearance, that penny-pinching wench for Daddy at the grocery store, and he shared it with me.
Me, and me alone.

I looked to my right...

I looked to my left...

...the coast was clear!

No other feline pastry eaters in the vicinity.

So in I dove.

*nom*nom*nomitty*nom*

It was delish!
Tootsie-Lickin' good.

And yes, Daddy finished it after I had had enough.

Happy Wednesday!

We Got a Surprise Package...actually, TWO!

Kitties!

We have been very satisfied customers of Chewy.com for a quite a while, and we've done some treat and food reviews for them too.  Mommy enjoys doing business with them; what's not to like about food and litter and toys delivered to your door with free shipping (over $49) too!

Well, talk about Customer Satisfaction when last week the Man in the Brown Shorts rang the doorbell with--wait for it--TWO gift boxes from Chewy.com!  (We think we got two cos they know we have SO many kitties here.)  Mommy made a couple videos for you to check out our loot with us:

This was totally unexpected and immensely appreciated...we've been enjoying the treats, the boxes, the tissue paper, the towel is on the dryer for napping, and Mommy uses her travel mug at work.  Daddy is having fun with the beach ball (don't ask) and we're just tickled pink to receive such a wonderful gift.

All we can say is THANK YOU, Chewy.com!

Treating Oneself!

Kitties!

We have a very-belated treat review today, all the opinions are our own and we received the bag of treats to try for free from Chewy.com.

Almost a month ago we received from the nice Andrew at Chewy.com a package of Vitality by Catswell Salmon Recipe treats.  Mommy put the bag on the counter, where they sat, and sat, and sat, waiting on her thumbs to open the packet for our review!   Meanie.

Salem finally had enough of Mommy's shilly-shallying procrastinating ways and took matters into her own paws:

or click HERE

And you know what?  Grayce gobbled down those treats as soon as Mommy quit videoing!  In fact, we all did, except Kona, of course...she's a picky kitty hard nut to crack.  We polished off the entire package--seeing how it had been irreparably mangled--in one sitting.  They were delicious, and we give the Catswell Salmon Recipe treats a resounding TWELVE sets of paws up!  Mommy liked them too, because they are good for us.  Here's the 411 from Catswell:

• High in protein and free of grains to align with a cat’s natural diet
• 100% USA-sourced chicken breast and salmon
• Crunchy texture that cats love!
• Natural and boosted with vitamins and supplements for functional benefits
• Flaxseed and vitamins maintain eye, skin, and coat health
• NO grain, corn, wheat, soy, gluten, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives

Nothing bad about 'em!

Mommy would like to say that she loves doing business with Chewy.com, their customer service has gone the extra mile for us on more than one occasion--and she appreciates that very much.  The free delivery over $49, no sales tax, and auto-ship really sweetens the deal, too...and our foodable supply is uninterrupted.  SCORE.

Thank you Andrew, we enjoyed doing another treat review!

Monday Munchies!

Kitties!

We have a treat review today!
These tasty Origen Original Treats were provided (for free) from Chewy.com and all the opinions expressed herein are our own.  So without any further ado:

The Baby and May Ling quite liked these treats, here they are discussing the tasty flavor that comes from the limited ingredients--Chicken liver, turkey liver, boneless chicken, boneless turkey, and boneless flounder--there's no filler in these babies!  Just Teh Meats.

The Baby:  I chowed down really liked these treats, but what really made them extra appealing was when Mommy broke them in half for me.

Grayce:  I can see 'em, I can smell 'em...but I can't seem to get 'em in my tummy!

That's better.

Salem:  *snarf* *crunchitty* *gobble*

Johnny:  Do NOT be fooled by my raspberry!  I am merely licking delicious treat crumbs off my whiskers.

Scouty:  Mommy, these are so good I'll stand my ground to eat them!  (Even though you may be fattening me up for the stew pot--I'll have to risk it.)

KonaKitty:  Meh.  I hate everything!

The verdict?
Half of us liked the Origen Original Treats, and half didn't.  Those of us who did overwhelmingly preferred them to be broken in half, even though they are kitty-kibble sized to start.  We found the shape (oblong) a tiny bit weird to eat, but in squares they were acceptable.  Mommy was glad to give us a treat that was actually GOOD* (real food!) for us, and she's interested in trying some other flavors to see how we'd like them.

Thank you, Chewy.com for an opportunity to review the Origen Treats!
The pleasure was all ours.

Happy Monday!

We are SO Ashamed...

...because we ate DOG treats, and we LIKED'em!

Kitties!

Andrew, the very nice rep from Chewy.com asked us to review a free sample of treats, and Mommy looked over the selection being offered to try--and when she saw these:

...Mommy started laughing!  She emailed Andrew back and asked if kitties could review doggie treats, and he said we could--in fact, lots of cats enjoy eating canine treats.  The ingredients are good, in fact the first ingredient is chicken!  Which we LOVE.  Especially Scouty.

So, on to the shameful taste test!
Salem loved them!

Johhny said "meh", as did May Ling (who refused to be photographed for the event)

Rupert and Grayce checked out a whole piece--Mommy broke 'em up for us but she dropped one.

Grayce wasn't interested (she's not into treats) but Rupert thought they were lip-licking delicious.

Maui gobbled them down!

As did The Baby,

And Sweet Pea!

Sylvester liked them also, but refused to be caught nibbling on camera.
Felix hates everything.
Kona and CC decided that these treats were not for them, either.

Scouty was the acid test...that boy lurves his chicken.
Would he eat it?

*

*

*

*
No!!!!

Oh well, you can't win 'em all.

Thank you, Andrew and Chewy.com for letting us paw out of our cozy cat nests comfort zone and try a yummy inter-species treat!  We would recommend these--to kitties and woofies!

And don't forget, Chewy.com ships any orders over $49 for free!  We have a standing order and it is so nice knowing we don't have to depend on our ditzy Mommy to keep us supplied.

Happy Thursday!

Muncha Muncha Monday!

Kitties!

We got a package in the mail...

...from Chewy.com!

They sent us a package of treats to review.
(OMC, we love doing taste tests.)

We got a free bag of Instinct Raw Boost Minis to try!

We chose the duck flavor.
mmmmmmmm, duck.

Mommy whistled us all up with her "Treats" tune out on the Catio and we stampeded formed an orderly mob queue for our treats.

There was mild pandemonium.  CC went wild.  Heads may have been cut off in the melee.

Maui voted YES.

So did John, and The Baby!
Once again, food is the Great Equalizer between these two...they can always put aside their differences for a tasty morsel.

Sylvester voted Nay.  He's picky.

Scouty chowed his down!
He totally ignored Mommy getting close, he enjoyed the minis that much.

Felix, true to form, was Deeply Suspicious.

He voted NAY, also.

The Baby said:  Good.  More for me!

May Ling is watching her girlish figure (expand) and turned her nose up.

KonaKitty didn't eat them either but she is the fussiest eater on the planet so Mommy wasn't surprised.

Rupert was enamoured with the box--

--and the contents!

Salem said:  Hand over all those minis, Mommy, and no one gets hurt.

Grayce liked 'em too, but she ate hers later.

So, the final vote was nine YEAS, and four NAYS for the Instinct Raw Boost Minis (Duck Flavor).  We liked the smaller size, we've had freeze-dried treats before that were too big and had to be crumbled for us to eat.  These were just the right size, and only two calories each!
(The link at the top of the post will take you to all the nutritional data.)

These treats were a success, and Mommy will be ordering them for us from Chewy.com in the future; we have a standing monthly order that's delivered for free since it's over $49!

Thank you for letting us do a review--all the opinions are our own.

Happy Monday!
