TortiMeezer Tuesday

Kitties!

May Ling here.
Do you recall Felix's Pet?
Well he didn't stay hidden under the litterboxpool for long.

With a little help from Mommy he made a valiant limping-hoppity dash for freedom.

In my excitement to get him, he ended up behind me!
Whoops.

After a mighty battle, in which he lost a few more appendages (appendagae?), he gimped underneath the stairs.  Mommy took pity on him and told me to let him expire in peace.
She's a lousy peace-nik.

I settled in to wait.  You never know, he might reappear.  He could've become a zombie cricket--after all, Felix played with him first and in my considered opinion Felix is a little "off".   If you know what I mean.

Suddenly I heard a noise!  I went on High Alert.
Was I going to have to slaughter a newly-resurrected brain-thirsty beast?

Nope.  It was a false alarm...he never came back, alive or undead.  Rats.
Just as well, I suppose--Mommy doesn't care for crickets and a zombified one would prolly send her (even further) 'round the bend.

Happy Tuesday!

  3. Honestly, aren't you kids a little EMBARRASSED about this? I mean, between the TWO of you Mighty Hunters, you couldn't ded a cricket???

  4. Mirsku is one happy mancat - all these shots of his beloved. And he is delighted that his beloved is such a mighty huntress who shows such determination and pleasure in the task. He has gone all gooey at those gorgeous May Ling eyers and a tempting tock shot.
This is good - we'll get some peace here as he slumps into a coma of adoration for a few days.

  10. Why don't we have our own little box pool? Not that we would use it, but why shouldn't we have it?

Anyway, back to the post at hand. You never know, that cricket might come back, when you least expect it.

  18. The cricket story is interesting...a bit of a cliff-hanger and a "tail" of perseverance and all that...but what I'm really fascinated by is that pool. I mean, it is such a fantastic idea. A large pool instead a TON of small litter boxes is pure genius.

  19. Oh! A zombie cricket - how scary! I wonder would a zombie cricket rub his legs together to make a noise or rub his spare brains together?

  39. I sure hope that poor cricket has expired by now. If anyone looks like a zombie, it's you, May Ling! It's those wide open hunter's eyes that reveal your killer instinct.

  40. You wanna hear from peacenik? My mom bought a passel of crickets at the Reptile Dept. of the BigBox Store and then let me torment and ded and eat me one or two. All good. Next thing I know, however, she stashed the rest-um in the oven (no it was not turned on what do you think). Then took them out of the oven and let them all go. Outside. So I couldn't get my incisors wrapped around a single one more.

Why? Because the chirping was -- CUTE.

I refuse to forgive her to this very day. It's been years. I can wait.

  44. Crickets---not fond of how they taste. However, I do like me some huntress lady cats...

  45. Pssst! Crickets are tasty, so eat it, but not the back legs. They stick in your craw, so leave them for the mom. She'll thank for you it, believe us.
