Felix has a Favor to ask.

Kitties!

Felix here, and I have a tiny favor to ask.
Did you know that when we started blogging I had just had surgery on my leg for a luxated patella?

Mommy contacted some bloggers for information about my knee problem and we were overwhelmed by your purrs and support!
It was pretty hurty, even with the pain patch.

But I healed up quickly, this photo is 35 days after my operation.  My furs were growing back and I was getting around just fine.  Nowadays you would never know that I might have been lamed forever.

Now, recently I found out that Leader Otis from the incredibly funny blog The Cult of Otis just had an even more serious operation than mine--he had a Hipsterectomy!  He has severe arthritis in his hip from an injury sustained when he was living feral and it was impeding his mobility terribly.  (Mommy cried watching the video of Otis limping.)  The only hitch is that Hipsterectomies are pricey, so here's my favor:  his guardians have a Chip In to help defray the cost of Otis' surgery and physical therapy, which will be at least $2000.  Can any of you spare a few green papers, or pass the word, or both?

Thanks!

Now, I gotta leap into this box with my TWO good hind legs.

Happy Wednesday!

As you asked so nicely.......

Poor lad, we too know the pain of a naughty kneecap and shudder at poor Otis' plight. Paws crossed for him. And kudos to you for doing some fundraising!

We chipped in some green papers cause the Human a-members what it was like to really struggle with vet bills when she was younger and a lot poorer than she is now. He's a fine-looking ManCat and we were very happy to read he came through his operation so well. We're glad you told us about him, Felix. You know better than most how much he was hurting. XOXOXO

Bless his heart. I hope he's fixed up good as good can be real soon.

I am afraid that Gracie and Gandalf's litter mate brother BooBoo will also one day need a similar surgery. Gracie has managed to escape it twice now, and I hope it will never become necessary but as she ages the possibility looms large.

We've been following Otis' blog for a while now and enjoy reading about his adventures with his brothers!!! We were stunned to see the video and discover how bad things had become. It looks like his surgery was a great success and now he is on the road to recovery :-)
