Fractured Friday...sorry, we couldn't pass it up...

Kitties!

We are loving having Mommy home all day, providing a warm lap.
The last time she was off on medical leave, we weren't allowed on her lap, if you can believe that noise.  Some nonsense about abdominal surgery, blah blah blah.  The usual poppycock.

But not this time!
She always has at least one kitty with her at all times, bed, sofa, potty...you name it, and we're there, keeping her company, snuggling on her lap.
Kona:  Mommy's been petting me for hours and feeding me all the temptations I can hold.
It's great!
Had I known that this would happen, I'd've kneecapped her years ago.

Rupert:  See the spot between my ears?  It's getting positively damp from all the kissies Mommy's been planting there.

Thank you Cathy Keisha for the excellent Nurse's Cap!

Nurse Grayce:  Mommy saw the Orthopedic Doc today--no surgery for her, HURRAH!  She'll be getting a special brace for her leg--no cast--DOUBLE HURRAH!!  She can take it off to bathe--TRIPLE HURRAH!!!
The Doc says it's a clean break with no displacement and her patella should heal just fine.  More X-rays in two weeks and possibly starting physio in three.  She'll be off work at least ten more days, possibly more, depending on what her work decides.  In the meanwhile we are taking full advantage of the lappage...as you can see.  And Mommy is taking advantage of Daddy, hee hee hee!  Truly, he's taking good care of Mommy, as are we all.

We may be a bit scarce commenting for the next few days, but if you here a "thunk, click, drag" that's Mommy, gimping around in cyberspace, checking up on y'alls.

Happy Friday!

  18. glad to hear the no surgery and removable cast good news. i'm beginning to suspect your mom had the accident on purpose to get out of all those consecutive days of work and to have you all pay extra attention to her...

  19. Yes, this knee capping sounds like a very good deal. Äiti says she hopes it not too painful for your Mommy - we are sure she has human catnip to cope with it all. And who needs pain killers when the natural enorphins are released through catupuncture .....

  20. Hope your Mummy's knee heals soon. You kitties are doing a great job.

  28. Kneecapping—isn't that what Tonya Harding did to Nancy "Why me?" Kerrigan at some Olympics or another? I see all the knee jokes have already been used so I'll just say I hope you heal fast and if you kneed anything just holler. Time for me to make a clean break outta here.

  29. Sounds like a purrfect way to have time off work! It's a win win win!! Course you might have to kneecap mom regularly if you want this to be a more permanent arrangement! Know what I'm saying? ;)

  46. Glad to hear that the news is positive and that the injury is in a location that doesn't interfere with the kitties nursing duties. It makes me laugh to see all the furry bodies snuggled down. Sometimes in the winter I can't even climb in bed for the kitties trying to hurry me along so they can lay on me, beside me or under the covers. Heal quickly and enjoy the down time as much as you can.
