Kitties!
May Ling here.
Wanna know a secret about my Daddy? Of course you do!
He has FLAT feet.
Like tortillas.
His podeya...prodera...pordiaris...foot doctor said they were the flattest set of gunboats he's ever seen! Mommy says he needs some Ancient Romans to build him arches.
So, Daddy has problems finding shoes that are comfortable. In fact, most of the time he just wears socks. Which drives Mommy insane because he wears 'em outside, too--like when he waters the garden and stuff. His socks are a disaster when they hit the laundry basket! She's been threatening to buy him slippers for years, and Daddy has always categorically rebelled against any type of casual footwear.
Until now.
This year, for a variety of reasons, Daddy capitulated during the annual Slipper Conversation,* and chose a pair of moccasins made out of BISON, of all things. We were all shocked and amazed that when they arrived, not only did Daddy like them, he likes wearing them!
It's been a couple of weeks now, and they are getting suitably stinky.
Nothing quite matches the experience of inhaling the delicate, yet heady, aromatic blend of eau de Daddy and Bison bison.
Kitties, for your information: I inhale.
::whiffffffffff::
Oh, yeah.
Happy Monday!

To each kitty her own: I take fresh new yoga straps over stinky slippers any day.

Mes LOVES them!

Nellie
We're more into the bottom of the shoe. You should smell the ones that Mommy wears into the chicken coop - YUMMY!
ReplyDeleteDoes your Daddy sweat catnip perchance ?
ReplyDeleteMirsku is very jealous, He is off to research bison behaviour and odours in an attempt to make himeslf even more appealing to you, May Ling!
Bison is pretty tasty too
ReplyDeleteI'd bet The Shepherd would like those slippers!
ReplyDeleteMe - I love my Crocs - Just the plain old ones - comfy... T.
I hate shoes. I own many pairs of Minnetonka Moccasins... mine are Mooseskin. And I also have Minnetonka slippers.
ReplyDeleteI also have many, many pairs of Kino sandals (which are my preferred footwear most of the time) and a few pairs of Keds sneakers for when it's cold and can't wear sandals and ONE pair of sneakers for the gym---out of absolute necessity---which are only on my feet for the obligatory allotted time and off they come.
So... Me and Scott are sympatico when it somes to shoes!
That look on May Ling's face after sniffing made our human laugh! Purrs!
ReplyDeleteOooooooooooooooo!!

It sure looks like eau de Daddy and bison bison is an irresistible combination. I guess this is why our peeps keep the shoes hidden in the closet, isn't it?

May Ling, you look like you are in seventh heaven inhaling your daddy's bison slippers.
ReplyDeleteLittle Reading Room! HA!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou know what you have to do now....buy several more pairs as back up when this pair wears out. Mom always says when you find something you really like stock up 'cause they prolly won't be there again if you don't!

ReplyDeletePip, Smidgen, Minnie, HOllie
May Ling, Are you sure you like eau de daddy. We think it is more likely the Bison Bison. Don't start chewing those things. Your mommy may never convince him to get another pair. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
ReplyDeleteNothing like a good smelly shoe. Just don't pee in that shoe. Daddy probably wouldn't like it.
ReplyDeleteWe used to have a cat who enjoyed sniffing on my daughters work shoes. (she works in a restaurant) After months of sniffing he then used that shoe as his toilet!
OH, My, Goodness.. You must be in kitty heaven!!
