Oh NOES! The Ebil V*E*T visit

Kitties!

The Baby here.

The past year I have had especially bad allergies.  I get tons of eye goobies and nose boogers and my ears fill up with wet wax.  Of course the Peeps do maintenance on me; Mommy uses her thumb nail to pick evict the bats from my caves and Daddy cleans my eyes and ears (and always lets me smell my Cat Wax, he's good like that).  I've been to the vet this year for a couple of steroid shots, and an antibiotic shot the time before last because my white count was high.  I also get Zyrtec when the sneezing gets out of hand.  It's just something I have and actually I'm just fine...sassy and bitey and opinionated.  And occasionally, sneezey.

Anyway, Daddy was performing his Cat Wax Removal duties Friday and decided that, this time, my ears were just a little out of hand, and I should go to the vet to have 'em looked at...and Mommy, that dirty rotten traitoress, packed me up and whisked me off to the vet Saturday morning!

I was quiet in the car--I like riding around looking at things.  I know, crazy but true.

Mommy took a little video of me waiting to see the vet.  If you turn up the sound you'll hear my grizzled croaking dulcet tones as I "meow" THREE times!

view it on YouTube HERE

And you know what?  Daddy cleaned my ears so well on Friday that there wasn't enough wax for the vet to take a sample!
::sheesh::

So now I "get" to have a broad-spectrum antibiotic antifungal anti-itchy ointment squirted and massaged into my ears once a day for the next week, which sounds worse than it is, I actually found it pretty soothing and quit scratching my ears afterwards.  Plus the peeps make a huge fuss over me when it happens, so that's good.  Hopefully this will be the last of my problems for a while--at least long enough for Mommy to stop calling me her little "Head Case"!
Insufferable Wench.

Happy Sunday!

  2. The Baby! I cannot believe what a good girl you were at the Stabby Place. Actually, I'm kinda disappointed in you, FDW. I was hoping for a little mayhem.

  14. We heard you just fine, even over the dulcet tones of your human's voice. (And LOL @ Austin Towers' comment.)

    You did really well, The Baby!

    BTW, Annie and Chumley never made a peep in the carrier, ever. Though of course WE sing our warrior songs!

  26. Poor The Baby! You kept going back to your PTU to escape, but evil mommy had closed it so you couldn't get in. I don't get waxy ears, but sometimes mum has to clean out the dirt that gets in them when I roll outdoors.

  33. Toby had yeasty waxy ears despite various prescription ear drops and washes. We did a food test and determined that he was allergic to chicken plus we had him tested for allergies (embarrassing as one of the things he is allergic to is human dander). He now gets half a generic Zyrtec crushed up into his canned food every morning plus he gets his ears cleaned weekly with Vetericyn. Hope you are feeling better - that itchiness is terrible!
