Friends and Kitties!
Sheebie here.
I bought some new kicks!
Naturally I took 'em out on the road.
Those of you coming to BlogPaws in May, this is what you'll see going into the resort.
I hiked up the hill so I could cross the bridge (for golf cart use only--not that I ducked under the "Private Use Only" sign or anything) to get some photos for ya'll.*
See the waterfall? That's my next goal, to get to the top and take pictures looking down! I've been over to the opposite side of the mountain and I spotted a trail going up.
From the other side of the bridge, looking through the tower.
The view was spectacular--if you biggafy you can see between the palm trees the water tank I hiked up to a while back, and in the far distance is the Strip.
It appears that our two weeks of winter are done. We'll get a month or two of chilly windy weather but the freezing temperatures have moved on and the sun is back to shining every day. This is the best time of year! Not too hot to hike or bike, but warm enough to sit and read a book on the Catio (in the afternoon sun, mind you it's cold in the shade) with a cup of coffee in hand and a cat on my lap. The garden made it through the freeze with the help of a tarp at night and the kale is ridiculous...I'm eating kale chips every day and barely keeping up. We put the cherry tomato plant back outdoors and it has at least fifty fruits on it which is way more than we get in the spring! We harvested over a hundred lemons this year and four dozen oranges, all of which have been sliced and dehydrated for using in tea, smoothies, and sauces. It's not much, but it's so satisfying to be able to grow a few edibles.
So, that's the report for this week...
Happy Sunday!

*Forcing me to break the law, just to keep you entertained...you should be ashamed.
Beautiful pics! We hope the golf course police doesn't catch you. MOL!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am going to BlogPaws and am most excited!
ReplyDeleteMy human needs to break more laws - everyone knows the best pictures get taken that way.
ReplyDeleteWe're having to smack Äiti round the face to get her to make sense. She's drooling and talking about blue skies and colour and sun and hills and hiking.
ReplyDeleteFUN!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for BlogPaws : )
...it's great to get a preview like this!
Brand new shoes are always cool! ~ TBT
ReplyDeleteYou're very brVe nonetheless. :) these are really great pics. We have only seen the big hotels on TV so now we know there are other places in the desert.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place to hike -
ReplyDeleteHome grown lemons - I don't think I've ever hand anything but store bought ones - I'll bet they are infinitely better!
The rainbow patterned tie-dyed hippy bag that I put in my spinner guild Christmas present drawing was a hot item. Thought you'd like to know.
And I would be hard pressed to see the diff between Maui & Kona Kitty. Have a great week. XOX T. & Gang
A lovely place for a walk. Can't wait to see more photos of the trail. Purrs!
ReplyDeleteAh, now you are a true rebel! You'd have moved all your office furniture, no question. LOL.
ReplyDeleteLove the hikers, they look super-comfy, just awesome.
I wish our winter was only two weeks....We're having a snowstorm right now....Sigh.
Those are great pics. TY for sharing with us. WE still have plenty of winter to go in NC.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I could ever adapt to the desert. I was raised in New England but I'm a sub-tropics kinda gal now. :D
ReplyDeleteMy Dad looked at your lemon slices with great suspicion. Great. ;D
Have a fabulous day!
So who was it that broke the law.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great view though. Glad you broke the law to get in there.
Have a great day.
That was a fun tour! I won't be BlogPawing this year so I'm glad I got to see it.
ReplyDeleteThat last picture is awesome! Wow, I think it's great that you guys grow so much produce. My husband breaks laws all the time taking pictures and he gets caught all the time too. Terribly embarrassing.
ReplyDeleteVegas envy!
ReplyDeleteThe head peep has BlogPaws on her schedule, so she appreciates the preview. If the resort police stop you, tell them that you're attending BlogPaws, but you're reeeeeeeeally early.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. Looks like a nice place for a walk.
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely. What is the weather like through April? (Temperature, humidity)
ReplyDeleteA waterfall in the desert? Can't wait until you check that out more! It looks like a lovely oasis and hopefully I'll be at BlogPaws. I haven't decided yet. Cool shoes! Are you wearing thermal underwear pants?
ReplyDeleteSheebie what pretty photos!!! Palm trees and mountains in one pic.
ReplyDeleteMom likes your shoes. Blogpaws is going to be in LV?
Woohoo
Hugs Madi and Mom your BFFs
These photos are so awesome... thanks for the beautiful tour Sheebie! Have a Great Easy Sunday!!

Great pictures you got there. We will be there in May for our 10 year anniversary. So looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteWinter is over? Sob...not here.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, thanks for risking your future for us. :P
That reminds me of my favorite Dalai Lama quote:
ReplyDeleteKnow the rules so you can break them properly.
:)
Glad you had fun!
That was a nice tour.
ReplyDeleteWow, I love the bridge and views. I'm going and can't wait to meet you!
ReplyDeleteWe like this post with the "illegal" pics ;) heehee
ReplyDeleteIt all looks SO warm on a day when we had a snowstorm :/
At least it was toasty indoors :)
Purrs Georgia and Julie,
Treasure,Tiger and JJ
P.S. did you post this on Fb. I'd love to share it.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics! And all I can say is here I sit with 6 inches of snow on the ground and temps in the 20s....I wish I was sitting on your catio instead!
ReplyDeleteSue
Okay, it looks like maybe Nevada is a more interesting state than the Human gives it credit for. Sorta.
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteYay, I'm going to Blogpaws, so I hope I meet you! Thanks for the pix. Last week I made my reservations, so I'm committed. It looks as though there's some good walking there, although based on last year's conference, there won't be much time for it (I'm a walker).
ReplyDeleteMeowm says she is so looking forward to blogpaws!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are so jealous that you are done with winter already when it is officially still fall. Mom is super jealous that you can sit on the catio with your clan. Too cold for that here for a few months to come. Thanks for the photos of the upcoming Blog Paws locale. It looks very nice. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteIt looks really lovely over there !
ReplyDeleteTo bad that I can´t send my mom-person to Blogpaws :(
