Shambling With Sheeb

Friends and Kitties!

Sheebie here.
I bought some new kicks!

Naturally I took 'em out on the road.
Those of you coming to BlogPaws in May, this is what you'll see going into the resort.

I hiked up the hill so I could cross the bridge (for golf cart use only--not that I ducked under the "Private Use Only" sign or anything) to get some photos for ya'll.*

See the waterfall?  That's my next goal, to get to the top and take pictures looking down!  I've been over to the opposite side of the mountain and I spotted a trail going up.

From the other side of the bridge, looking through the tower.

The view was spectacular--if you biggafy you can see between the palm trees the water tank I hiked up to a while back, and in the far distance is the Strip.

It appears that our two weeks of winter are done.  We'll get a month or two of chilly windy weather but the freezing temperatures have moved on and the sun is back to shining every day.  This is the best time of year!  Not too hot to hike or bike, but warm enough to sit and read a book on the Catio (in the afternoon sun, mind you it's cold in the shade) with a cup of coffee in hand and a cat on my lap.  The garden made it through the freeze with the help of a tarp at night and the kale is ridiculous...I'm eating kale chips every day and barely keeping up.  We put the cherry tomato plant back outdoors and it has at least fifty fruits on it which is way more than we get in the spring!  We harvested over a hundred lemons this year and four dozen oranges, all of which have been sliced and dehydrated for using in tea, smoothies, and sauces.  It's not much, but it's so satisfying to be able to grow a few edibles.

So, that's the report for this week...

Happy Sunday!

  3. My human needs to break more laws - everyone knows the best pictures get taken that way.

  4. We're having to smack Äiti round the face to get her to make sense. She's drooling and talking about blue skies and colour and sun and hills and hiking.

  5. FUN!!!
    Can't wait for BlogPaws : )
...it's great to get a preview like this!

  6. You're very brVe nonetheless. :) these are really great pics. We have only seen the big hotels on TV so now we know there are other places in the desert.

  7. What a beautiful place to hike -

Home grown lemons - I don't think I've ever hand anything but store bought ones - I'll bet they are infinitely better!

The rainbow patterned tie-dyed hippy bag that I put in my spinner guild Christmas present drawing was a hot item. Thought you'd like to know.

And I would be hard pressed to see the diff between Maui & Kona Kitty. Have a great week. XOX T. & Gang

  9. Ah, now you are a true rebel! You'd have moved all your office furniture, no question. LOL.

Love the hikers, they look super-comfy, just awesome.

I wish our winter was only two weeks....We're having a snowstorm right now....Sigh.

  11. I don't know if I could ever adapt to the desert. I was raised in New England but I'm a sub-tropics kinda gal now. :D

My Dad looked at your lemon slices with great suspicion. Great. ;D

    Have a fabulous day!

  14. That last picture is awesome! Wow, I think it's great that you guys grow so much produce. My husband breaks laws all the time taking pictures and he gets caught all the time too. Terribly embarrassing.

  15. The head peep has BlogPaws on her schedule, so she appreciates the preview. If the resort police stop you, tell them that you're attending BlogPaws, but you're reeeeeeeeally early.

  27. Okay, it looks like maybe Nevada is a more interesting state than the Human gives it credit for. Sorta.

  28. Yay, I'm going to Blogpaws, so I hope I meet you! Thanks for the pix. Last week I made my reservations, so I'm committed. It looks as though there's some good walking there, although based on last year's conference, there won't be much time for it (I'm a walker).

  30. We are so jealous that you are done with winter already when it is officially still fall. Mom is super jealous that you can sit on the catio with your clan. Too cold for that here for a few months to come. Thanks for the photos of the upcoming Blog Paws locale. It looks very nice.
